Chapter 2

3rd person Pov
“I already checked the house by the pictures that your father sent me. There was a room beside the master's bedroom. You sleep in the master's bedroom and I'll sleep in the room beside it. We don't have to sleep together right? “ he said in a business like tone while driving.
“Yeah…” she responded.
Through the white tall gate, they had now entered the front of their house. Their house was enormous, with three levels. It was a massive white luxury house. There was a garden in the shape of a circle in front of their house. Tulips in blue and white bloomed there. The garden was in the middle, so the road was on both sides, but there was a path through the middle. Before reaching the house, there was a stair in the middle. In front of the house, there was a square-shaped pool.
The house had its own parking lot, and Luan parked his car there. Luan got out of the car without waiting for Solstice. He walked along the path in the middle of the garden. Solstice sighed and got out of the car five minutes after Luan got out.
As she walked behind him, she gazed at his back. His back was appealing to her, and his broad shoulders too. Every muscle in his body was visible thanks to his black-fit turtleneck. As he walked, his arms swayed. His arms were veiny, and she liked them as well as his hands. She swallowed hard as she couldn't take her gaze away from his back and hands.
They've now entered the house and there was a large, elegant chandelier hung from the ceiling. Luan led her upstairs to the bedroom.
"You'll stay there."he stated as he left her outside the bedroom. He entered the room next to hers. She entered her room and spotted a king-size bed. As she entered, she noticed a large place for clothes and for other items too, perhaps a closet. There was a tall but small mirror in the middle of the closet, and some of the garments were hung on the side of the mirror. On the sides, there were cabinets or wardrobes with glass doors with plenty of shoes, towels, clothes, and accessories in it

She walked into that closet. There was a visible smile that could be seen on her face as she looked through the things in there. She was happy because she saw a moon necklace in one of the drawers. She loved the moon. She would always stare at the moon every night if she had the time. She looked at it and saw a name carved on the moon-shaped pendant: "Mrs. Devlin.”
'For me?' A question formed in her mind.

She grabbed the necklace gently and looked at it, admiring it. She smiled and wore the necklace. While she was wearing the necklace, she heard a knock on the door. She slowly walked to the door and opened it with a wide smile.
"I'm looking for a neck—" he came to a halt when he noticed the necklace around her neck.“Take the necklace off, it's not for you. My mother told me to give it to someone I love, so I'm sure it's not yours. “
"Oh, sorry, I just found it there and I tried it, sorry,“ she said with a low voice. She immediately took off the necklace from her neck and gave it to him. "I'm sorry again," she said as she looked up at him, her eyes filled with regret. She regretted wearing the necklace and she regretted assuming that it was for her.
“Tsk, “ he clicked his tongue and grabbed the necklace from her. He left her again and he walked back to his room. She sighed, looking down as she walked back in her room.
Luan placed the necklace inside a box as soon as he got into the bedroom. He chuckled as he thought of how she had assumed that it was for her. His stomach grumbled. He looked at the clock hanging on the wall of the room. It was time for dinner now. He remembered what Solstice's father said. Solstice couldn't cook and always burned the food she cooked.
"What type of girl is she? She can't fucking cook," he grumbled as he went to the kitchen to make dinner for himself and Solstice. He prepared everything he needed for dinner. For her, he'll prepare a beef stew, while for himself, he'll prepare a veggie salad. He eats a lot of veggies and fruits and rarely eats meat or fish.
Solstice exited her bedroom. She headed to the kitchen to prepare supper for them and she noticed Luan, who was dressed in an apron with a white tank top and black sweatpants. She just stood in the doorway, watching Luan prepare food.
While he was preparing dinner, she admired his physique. She notices how fluidly he moves while cooking. She couldn't take her gaze away from him, the way his hands moved to cut or slice the food, place the food on the casserole, and how he hold the things firmly which made his veins exposed in his hands were all very appealing for Solstice.
When he turned around, he noticed Solstice staring at him. "Meal is ready, go eat now," he said as he approached her, pointing to the food he had prepared.
Solstice simply froze there till she realized Luan was speaking to her. She didn't hear anything he said because her mind was blank when he spoke to her.
"Oh, yes, what is it?" She looked at him, unsure of what he had said because she hadn't heard him.
He sighed and pointed at the food he prepared, “I said— the food is there, go eat. “
"Oh, t-thank you," she said, she can't help but smile because he prepared dinner for her. Her heart began to race, and she stumbled as she walked clumsily to get the food he had prepared.
Luan sat down on the chair in the dining area while Solstice stayed in the kitchen to eat. They eat separately because Luan doesn't want to eat together with Solstice. That'll be their set up when they eat.
Solstice looked at Luan while she ate. He was too focused on his food to notice Solstice. She smiled at him, and she thought that he cared a little for her because he made food for her.
“Luan—” Solstice said but Luan interrupted her by saying, “Mr. Devlin. “
“Ohh, yeah, “ Solstice said with disappointment because he doesn't want her to call him by his name. “Uhm Mr. Devlin, I'll wash the dishes, “ she continued.
“As you should, “ Luan said.
Solstice simply nodded and slid her dish into the sink. She began to wash her plate and the utensils Luan used to cook. Luan finished his meal and set his plate on the sink's side. Solstice gave him a friendly smile and washed his dish as well.
“Stop smiling like an idiot, disgusting, “he looked at her with a disgusted look.
She shifted her gaze away from him and back to the dishes, hurrying to finish cleaning them.
Luan just stood there, watching her hurriedly doing the things she was doing. After she finished, she walked back to her room, wiping her tears off her face.
Solstice's Pov
He was disgusted with me. I saw it in his eyes. I wiped my tears as I walked back to the bedroom. It was the first time I had known someone who was disgusted with me. I don't know, but it hurts. I don't want to feel this way.
As I lay down on my bed, I covered my eyes with my arms. I'm wondering why I got hurt by Luan's words. Before, I didn't care about what other people said, but why?
“I guess he hate me, I'll try to learn things and be a good wife to you Luan so you'll not hate me, “ I said, getting motivated. I'll be a good wife for you, I'll take care of you and give everything to you. I'll make it up to you Luan, I will.
End of flash back...
