Chapter 28: She's Bitter, Not Better On a fine morning in their room. Papers were distributed by Jade. Once she reach Fera she handed it but before Fera could hold it she already dropped it, then turned away after throwing a glare. She had been like that, she never talk to Fera or even avoided getting near her. She was still trying to sabotage her secretly, she couldn't accept that she was the only one who got the chance to dance with Nick on his birthday. It was their vacant class hour and Fera sat alone in the corner while Nick was not around. Jade sat next to her which was Nick's chair. "You know what? I don't know what you did to Nick and why he kept sticking with you when he barely know you. I am sure you have something in yourselves." She bravely accused her with her alipores around her. "You know what? I don't know why can't you move on and stop bothering me, I am sure you are very insecure," she spoke in her calm voice and tone. It was slow and teasing which made Jade flare in anger. "Remember that you are new here, I can easily destroy you. So be careful with your words," she said. While Fera only eyed her from head to toe. And she suddenly stood which surprise her. She bend and her lips nearly touched Jade's ear. "Destroy me, then I get Nick's sympathy." She straightened her back and looked at her and saw that she was fuming, her hands were balled into fists. "You really have the nerve to talk back now, I can already see your true color, you are a pretender." Fera maintained her dead expression but the word pretender caused nervousness in her heart. Pretender word affects her since it was true. "Did I get it right? You are a pretender!" she spat but Fera looked at her in her eyes. "I know," she only spoke but it was low and dangerous that crawled into Jade's skin up to her heart. "That means, you should be careful," she added and even stepped closer to Jade which made her lean back. She almost lost it and Fera could already see her reddish eyes ready to shed a tear but she stood up. "This is my territory, I must be the one to say that," she said and Fera only nodded and turned her back then walked out. Time to retreat, she mentally spoke cause Jade was near to crying. She didn't want to look like a villain in any situation. She fears certain things but no debate could make her flinch. Jade may have the last word, everyone knew that it was Fera's win. She walks out with pride of joy in her heart. It may not visible on her face but she walked in triumph. She went to the library and got some books to read. She stayed there but Nick hadn't shown up still. It was already late and time to go home. "Where are you?" she messaged him. "Few minutes, wait for me at the gate by the road." He immediately replied. SO decided to go out and walk to the gate. She slow down when she saw someone looking at her, it was a man with a black mask. He walked away after they exchange glances. She turned to the guardhouse and found it empty, he was out. Her palms started sweating, it was a familiar situation but this time she had no bodyguards with her. But she believed at it was impossible for them to find her in such little period and Lora made sure to keep every information about her safety. She still walked out of the school gate and stood a bit far from the road. She couldn/t keep still, she got paranoid that someone would come and get her. "Fera!" she turned to someone who called her and saw Nick running to her so she somewhat ease the crazy feeling. His warm smile could always calm her down. But he suddenly stopped and his eyes went widened. After that, he ran again but faster than before. "FERA RUN!" he shouted while he was running to her, she confusingly looked behind her but a white cloth greeted her and cover her mouth and nose. She tried pushing him away but it was too strong and even picked her up while struggling from his grip. She stopped breathing so she could not inhale the chemical. But she was already in the vehicle. She turned to Nick but she only saw him standing near her while raising his hands as a sign of surrender. Nick POV The man in the black mask was pointing a gun at him so he had no choice but to watch her lose her consciousness and the door shut in front of him. But soon as the van started moving he ran to his motor and followed the van. It was a crazy decision causing him to crash on the road because they shoot his tires. He had a few bruises but that did not stop him. He called the police and his grandad, Lolo Nikolas. He asked for help but he already saw police pass him following the abductor when the police he was calling hasn't answered yet. He ran to the middle of the road to stop a police mobile. He wasn't numb not to realize that it was for Fera. He knew Fera wasn't just a simple girl downtown. "Get off the road, idiot!" the police shouted to him. He ran to him and hold onto his car. "I can track them!" he shouted while other police mobile ran passed them. "Get off!" the police instead said. He had no choice but to remove his hands and the police car left him with dust. He was about to kick his motor when someone honk its horn. He turned to it and saw Fred roll his window down. "Get in," he didn't think twice and run to his car then opened the passenger seat. "Can you track her?" Nick immediately nodded and took his cellphone. He had put a tracker in her cellphone so he could easily track her. He showed it to him and he pulled in another way. They trace a quicker way to catch them. "Aren't you going to inform them?" Nick asked him. "Who?" he asked and he aggressively drove. "Fasten your seatbelt," he spoke and their speed was multiplied into tenth. "The police officers," he answered and he seemed didn't notice the speed, he was only looking at the road. "I don't know what you are talking about, I did not call any police." He confusingly eyed him but choose to keep his questions and focus on the road. "That van," he pointed to that white van, using a plate number of a public van and even having stickers that it was a public vehicle. Fred instantly followed it carelessly, he did not mind that the abductors might find out that they were after them. "I think we should call for some help," Nick suggested but Fred's eyes were only fixed on the road and the van as if he heard nothing. "We need back up, we can't do things with just the two of us." He said but he continued overtaking other vehicles. "Who told you I am that stupid?" he only asked, enough for Nick to understand what he mean and trust the man who was driving for their lives. It was risky for him to trust the man he rarely saw and never had a good conversation with. But he was the only person who was related to Fera even though he introduce himself as her boyfriend. "Move," he heard Fred whisper so he looked at him when they already tracing the road surrounded by trees. It was bright daylight when he saw motorcycles or big bikes showing in front of the van, soon he realize that there was an intersection road in there. But the van mercilessly run over them and gunshots followed. He witness how fierce Fred went down his car and started shooting the Van. He bit his lips and couldn't go out, seeing those big bikes that were worth more than a car. He realize that Fera did not need his help, these people were protected all that way as if Fera was their life. But he still bravely went out of the car. But Fred already got her, he carried her in a bridal style and he could only take a glance at her in his arms. "She's safe now, go, homeboy," Fred said while walking to his car. He turned to look at the van, all tires were shoot. "They are not dead, don't worry about them," he turned to Fred who spoke and his people started their engines after putting Fera in the backseat. He got into the driver's seat and drove away surrounded by those armed people. He was left alone in the middle of the road and had fallen into deep thoughts. "Who are you, Fera?"
