Chapter 31: Argument "Why?" and his voice went out to meager making her regret raising her voice. She stood from the couch and went to her fridge to get some water. "You don't need to, authorities are on it," she answered. Then she drank water to calm her system up. While Nick was watching her intently, he was taken aback by the sudden raising of her voice. "Are you okay?" "Of course," she answered without looking at him. "Do you need anything else?" And her sudden changes of way of answering bothered him even more, he was expecting him to shamelessly drive him off but she did indirect words to make him leave. "Your parents are a sensitive topic I know, but don't you want to give them the justice they deserve?" "SHUT UP!" the first time she shouted that loud to him and made him flinch. Her chest was moving up and down with a massive intake of air was enough for him to know that it was enough. He shouldn't push it more. "I'm sorry," "Why do you always meddle business of other's business?" she cringes her forehead while asking him. "I am not, I am trying to help." He still answered but deep inside he regretted pushing it this far, now Fera was ready for debate. "I don't need that! You have said you knew me! I am Fairly Raliya Luzares Fuentes, and do you think I need any help? If my people couldn't hunt them at the moment why do you think you can do better?" "I..." "You're so full of yourself! This is not a simple issue of about a mere dead student at school." She was in the full range of anger and he started sweating. "Okay calm down," and he attempted to touch her. "Don't touch me!" and she pointed her finger at him. "You want some juicy information, don't you?" she accused him. "Of course not!" he was too surprised by her accusation but immediately regretted raising his voice especially when Fera was in the full range of emotions. "Maybe you are one of them, you kept tugging along with me to ask about my parents and what we do. What happened and how did it happen? Do we have leads or evidence?" "No, I want to help you, look. I know they are professionals, and I am just a boy but we can do a little help. That's what I am implying, nothing else." And beads of perspiration had been glistening on his forehead and anytime they were ready to run down. "Liar," "I...I swear, why would you think something like that? I have been respecting your privacy since then cause I know how sensitive you are about it, I didn't even ask about that Fred or how's life before and anything, I just offered help nothing else." "You want to help? Well, the help I need is for you to shut up about it, cause I am honestly sick about it! I need a break!" Her eyes had turned red but she didn't cry. "Cause you took it negatively! Don't trust me? Did I wrong you in any way or situation?" she took a step back when she heard trust. The word that existed never in her vocabulary. "Get out," she said in her firm voice and stone face. Nick was wholly insulted by her actions and stormed out of her apartment. She watched him madly walking out to her door, as he slam the door her body loosened from tensing up, she opened her balled fist and wipe her traitor tears. She did shed a tear but never felt defeated her facial expression was still dead and fierce. "He will never understand how it feels, why doesn't he keep his nose to his business?" She lost her appetite and went to her room, she knew that no one will understand. She had been bothered by those judgmental people around her, she was sick of an acting kind and being fake in everything she does because of those reporters, and publishers. And she despises them, she never likes nosy people. But as soon as she left alone within white walls and her dark paintings her tears started building up in her eyes again. Then she remembered his face, his hurt face. "There is nothing to feel guilty about." Fera declared but her system wasn't functioning as she say. She felt bad even more from shouting at him. Then asked herself. "Yeah, why couldn't I bring myself to trust him when he never wronged me or even disrespect me?" She remembered the moments he help her from her first day in her place up to now, he'd been a good friend. She fell into her bed and hugged her pillow. Guilt had eaten her heart up. But she said what she have said, she had done what she had done and she'd never take her words back. She meant what she said, Nick just doesn't deserve it. She closed her eyes and said hi to pain again. Sleeping with tears in her eyes was never new. **** "Knock! Knock!" she opened her eyes as soon as she heard someone knock. Her eyes were half-open when she opened the door and a hard thing crashed on her body making her step back, she immediately closed her eyes and she heard the door slam. Then she felt strong warm arms wrapped around her body. "I'm sorry," that whisper made her smile and hugged him back. "I'm sorry too," "No, I'm sorry, I shouldn't push it. I knew it would affect you that way." "Okay, forget about it." He face her and looked at her face to check if she wasn't faking it. "I'm sorry for your lost," he said after checking she wasn't mad anymore. "Back to you," she answered with a small smile which made him smile too. He kissed her on her forehead and gave her another hug. "Knock! Knock!" They both froze when they heard the knock. Who would knock on her door that early aside from Nick?
