Chapter 37: Confession Her nerves instantly calm down when she saw him. "What are you doing here? How...how did you get in?" "You seem calm, is it normal for you to get abducted?" He asked straight and didn't pay attention to what she was asking. She didn't want that question so she walked to her fridge and got some water. "Do you need something?" she instead asked in an attempt of changing the topic. "I need answers. I know you will try to avoid the question but come on." He stood and walked to her. "Enough for secrets." "Why? Are you scared of who I might be, Nick?" "Never, never will. I know you are a Fuentes now, what else I don't know here?" "Nick-" "Don't you trust me?" He cut her off and she places the glass down on the island. "Haven't I proved myself to you? I will never betray you, you know that." He sounded begging and tried to catch her eyes and he did. "Why?" they stood a foot away from each other which made Fera step back but she bumped her fridge. "Why do you need to know? Why do you want to know? Do you have to?" "You have been so defensive about your life. I just want to know you more." "Why, give me enough reasons." "Because I want to, I want you." Her arise fury fell into pieces and her heart started racing, she lost her words and stared at him like he had said something impossible. He tried to hold her hand and she didn't move. "I just want to know you better. It's crazy I know, I like you. No, I think I love you. And I am hurting every time you will shut me off and draw a line between us. Like you don't want me in your life, am I asking too much?" He looked at her eyes and saw nothing but a confused look. "What do you mean?" And in just a snap he closed the distance between them. She was just looking at his eyes and closed them when she saw it was too near. He felt her soft lips touch hers. Her hands climbed from his chest to his shoulder while his arms snake around her waist and pulled her closer. She was drowned in his kisses to notice how long they have been kissing, soon she felt his arms scooping her up and place on the island. He pulled his lips away but didn't move too far. "You are not ready for this." She opened her eyes and stared at him. She memorized every part of his face and how it affects her. "What are you doing, Nick?" she whispered and Nick almost lost it. "We are both tired and wasted. You're not ready for my questions, I'm sorry but I hope we can talk about this tomorrow." "This is creeping me out." "I know-I know. We need to rest now." "Okay." She was about to go down but he lift her like a baby, her chin rested on his shoulder and her legs around him then went to her room like that. He place her in her bed and fixed her blanket. "Can you promise to talk about this tomorrow?" he assured me before leaving. "You're leaving? Can ask a favor?" "Anything." "Can you lie down with me and hug me." She moved to the left to give him space, he did not ask anything and did what she want. "Can you kiss me on my forehead?" and he did. She clung her arms to his arm as her tears fell. "My mother was a doctor while my father was a lawyer, aside from being a lawyer he had his businesses from his parents and my mother had different properties. They are wealthy and the cost of being wealthy is a threat to their life. Especially my father was a lawyer who have crossed different criminals. Life was been lonely, instead of visiting the park to play, I have my park at home. Every time I am out of the house, I usually have bodyguards. Usual heiress sh*t which I hate the most. Everything they do, there's a camera. At the parties, I need to be, prim and proper. I need to be kind, and elegant, a perfect daughter. And I always felt caged, I don't have the freedom to do anything I want. At ten or eleven, I was already trained to handle business and my childhood life was forgotten. I never had friends, I was taught not to trust anyone. I was always reminded never to ruin my parent's reputation. Then my father died, and I was there for his last breath. He asked me to do anything I want." She wiped her tears and took a deep breath. "He kept telling me sorry, he asked for forgiveness that he failed as a father. Everything fell in my palm, the heavy responsibilities and so much pressure. I am the only heiress and this is too much. I am afraid to fail them and waste all of it. My parents worked hard for it to the point that they forgot about me. I just want a break and a little freedom." "You know that you can do it." He whispered in her ears. "I don't think so." "You are the smartest girl I have ever met and I believe you can do it. It may be pressuring but you can escape sometimes and taste freedom once in a while." "But I want to stay here with you." He bit his lower lip to stop himself from smiling. "Then stay." *** She woke up with a heavy thing on her stomach, when she turned it. She saw his angel-like feature. Natural clean and masculine features. It wasn't too harsh, not soft either. 'I know, getting close to anyone is dangerous, but I want nothing but to be with you.' She thought and moved closer to him to feel his comforting warmth. 'I'm done being scared of the so-called love. I know I can trust him.' Soon she felt him pull her into a hug. "We are running late," he only chuckled at her morning greet. "Aren't you supposed to say good morning?" "Good morning, then. Now get off me." "Five more minutes,"
