Suicide Attempt

Chapter 46: Suicide Attempt
Fera’s POV
“I am their daughter, I am not the one that will ruin their name.” She whispered as she fell into sleep. In her head, the image of her mother being loved by people cause she save lives kept flashing. People are sending gifts, some are inviting her to their wedding. A lot of them donate a huge amount of money which she gave to the different foundations, making her an angel to everyone. She was indeed kind and sophisticated.
‘Smile didn’t give me that look.’ she whispered in her ears. It was her birthday party and everyone was there, everyone she doesn’t know. After a jaw-numbing smile after an hour of picture taking, she was left at the corner.
Her parents were nowhere to be found, they were entertaining their guests when it was her birthday. It did look like a birthday party but it wasn’t. It was business stuff, different negotiations happened.
While her father was somewhere with his business partners, they run the party and the party was mainly about closing deals. And her job was to sit there and look pretty, prim and proper. Be the perfect daughter behind their back. The perfect offspring of the perfect couple.
The image shifted to his father sitting on his swivel chair while his hands rested on his table. He was facing little Fera with full tears but no expression.
‘What happened?’ he asked. She turned to him and opened her mouth to speak but he slam his hand on his table.
‘I don’t care, it would be on the headlines of the newspapers anyway. I don’t care what happened, but if you do this again, I am telling you.’ She blinked her tears and nodded. She wiped it and walk out of his office.
Then it shifted to an image of the angelic face of her mother, it was smiling at her warmly. She walked into her room and climbed into her bed. She cuddled with her and kiss her cheek. ‘I love you, baby, Fairly.’
Her father’s smiling face came and she felt him pat her head. ‘I am very proud of you, Fairly. You are indeed my daughter.’
Even in her sleep, her tears started rolling down her cheek.
The next day she woke up determined, she walked to a table with a tray of food in her hands. Most of them were looking at her, some kept glancing while others didn’t care. She sat on the chair and place her tray on the table.
“She killed her father,”
“Badass.”
There were different side comments and talked about it as if it wasn’t a sensitive topic. She held her fork tight and started eating. Holding her patience was never been that difficult. In her head, she knew she did nothing. Eventually, she started thinking maybe it was her. Maybe it was all her fault, if she was just brave enough nothing would happen that night.
‘I vowed not to speak about it. I will not ruin a thing.’ She said to herself and held the fork tighter. She stood up and walked like dead to the bathroom. Soon as she get into a cubicle, she sat on her bowl. She realized that fork wouldn’t be enough to harm her.
She went out and carefully walked out. She saw her face on the wall, walked closer to it, and touched it. And her eyes fell on the sink and she turned to the fork she was holding.
She looked back to her face and in a snap aimed to stab the mirror but she stopped an inch away from the mirror. She heard someone walking in the hallway near the bathroom. She waited for it to fade and successfully stabbed it. It crashed and fell down the sink. She picked up a half-palm-size mirror and saw her face on it.
Without thinking twice she sliced her wrist and bit her lips not to scream. She slowly sat down and she stopped breathing. She lost consciousness and a smile crept to her lips.
Not long enough a detained found her and reported what she saw. The ambulance came and brought her to the hospital.
After losing her consciousness, she found herself in a grass field. She aggressively turned to her right when she felt someone touching her shoulder.
‘Hey beautiful, wanna walk with me?’ Her tears fell as she saw the lady offering a hand to her.
‘Mom,’ she jumped to her and hugged her.
‘You might wanna walk with me.’ She mumbled so she let her go and held her hand.
‘I miss you, mom.’
‘I can feel your pain…but does it worthy enough of your time?’ she said while they were walking nowhere.
‘I need time.’
‘But in need of time doesn’t mean stop. Time will never stop and never did, even if it seems so slow and you can’t see any progress.’ She stopped and touched Fera’s face and looked at her eyes. ‘Let it go and move forward. How will you heal if you keep holding the knife which was hurting you until now?’
‘I just need a break.’
‘Go keep on saying that to yourself, even when you know it was a lie, hold on to it even if you know it wasn’t real.’
‘What should I do, mom?’
‘You have kept everything behind your head, how will you know?’
“Beeeepppp!” She breathed in and filled her lungs with air. As she opened her eyes a blinding light greeted her so she closed her eyes again.
“Fera? Fera, can you hear me? She’s awake! Call the doctor.” A man’s voice filled her ears. It was a familiar voice and scent that filled her nose. His calming presence always felt at home.
“Miss Fera.” She opened her eyes and saw Lora’s face. “Thank goodness!” She moved her hand and saw her wrist wrapped with a bandage.
“What were you thinking?” She turned her gaze to her right and saw Nick’s face. “You scared me to death! Us to death!”
“Scared that a killer might die?”
