Chapter 27 After all those years, Alpha Magnus' POV
ALPHA MAGNUS’ POV I was right. Kamilah still hates me. I let time pass by, letting time heal her. It pains me to know that Kamilah still hates me. When she rejected me and vanished in my pack, I made sure to always check up on her and keep updated with what she was doing because that’s what calms me down. I partly expected she would come running back to me….to come to me and ask for my shoulder to lean on. But she didn’t. I did everything to be with my mate, but she hates me. All those 150 years without her, I felt like dying. No, I expect myself to die and won’t last even a year. I would have gone nuts, if not for Dimitri pushing me to become better for her, to get prepared for one day we meet again. Kamilah is such a strong woman. She has her strengths that only she could do, including shaking my world. That night when she left me, she clearly misunderstood me. I didn’t even remember what happened. Good thing that Dimitri told me that Kamilah saw me with a human in my arms. But I didn’t do it because I wanted to. That night, it was a full moon, and I lost control. Living as a hybrid, half-vampire, and half-werewolf, my blood has been fighting over who’s more dominant. On normal days, I was just a werewolf who could control his urge to drink blood. But at night when it was a full moon, my vampire blood took over, craving for blood. I did not anticipate that my vampire blood would take over, good thing that I managed to lock myself in my office and have Dimitri check over. Only Dimitri knows this secret of mine…and I plan on keeping it a secret from anyone, other than Kamilah. My Kamilah, if only I could have explained it to you in advance…You wouldn’t have left me…you would have shared an ounce of understanding with me…but then again, I couldn't blame her. It was fully my fault and I have to suffer. Just then, my ears perked up and my body went on alert as I sniffed the air, sensing another creature coming into our packhouse. ‘We have an intruder. Check it’ I mind-linked my beta, Dimitri and he replied, ‘The security patrols are knocked out, and judging from the smell, we know who it is.’ My fangs started to appear and I growled and howled, waiting for that creature to appear. “Hello, best friend!” Exclaimed a black hooded figure from just outside my house. I didn’t have to check the windows to know it was really him. But something is amiss. There is another familiar smell with him… I instantly stood up to see the window and I was right. Alpha Kamilah is right by his hands, who sensed me too and glared at me despite the distance. My mate... I sniffed the familiar delicious smell of hers and licked my lips, my throat drying up and my wolf inside growling in so much anger. But why is he with her? I clenched my jaw, as Gusev still stood outside, clearly sensing my annoyance but feigning innocence. “Why are you here and why are you with my mate...I mean Alpha Kamilah?” I growled at him. I shouldn’t have been surprised how he did this…I know for a fact Alpha Kamilah hates me and wants nothing but to run away from me and my pack…and right now, she must have a reason for coming here. Gusev smirked, “Would you not even let your best friend in? Come on my alpha fiend.” “Did you kidnap her?” I answered his question with another question. Gusev sighed and turned to Kamilah, “He’s saying I kidnapped you. Can you tell him why I directed you here?” Kamilah looked at him with annoyance, and I was a bit relieved knowing that she hated that bastard too. She glanced at me for a second, our eyes meeting before she huffed and looked at a tree from a distance, “I want to know about the alpha steroids.” She demanded with such a cold voice. I nodded, motioning for her to continue but when she stayed quiet, I took the initiative to answer. “Alpha Steroids? I felt a bit disappointed that she came here for another reason…there was a little part of me that was hoping she would come to accept me as her mate… I cleared my throat, “The Lycan king is investigating that.” She raised her eyebrows at me and scoffed, as if not content with my answer. “And why are your past subordinates under my territory? The rogues attacked and killed one of my powerful subordinates.” My ears perked at that, looking at her body for any sign of cuts or wounds. “Did you get hurt?” She looked at me with an offended look, “Hurt? How little do you think of me? I killed their leader.” “But you let the rest getaway,” Gusev interjected from beside her, earning a death glare from my mate. “I did that purposely to give them a warning.” The corners of my lips turned upwards, somehow enjoying how my mate clearly hates Gusev’s guts. Of course, she could handle anything, she’s strong. She’s an alpha. My mate. My luna. I shook my head, clearing away my thoughts, “I apologize about that incident. Some of my subordinates didn’t like how powerful I am so they left my pack. I didn’t know they would become rogue.” “Tsk. You fail to keep your pack on a leash.” She commented and I cursed under my breath. This is bad. I am giving a negative impression of her. Well, I broke it 150 years ago…but still… Alpha Kamilah sighed, “If you have no more knowledge about those steroids then I have to return to my pack.” “Wait!” “Wait!” Gusev and I simultaneously called out. I gave him a judging look that says mind your own business trash but he replied you watch your words bastard. “What?” Kamilah snapped at us, looking at us with an irritated expression. I gulped, my mouth forming open and closing, not wanting to say something that will offend her, but then wanting to see her face a bit longer. No, I want her to stay here…but I know she’s an alpha and has her own pack. But that thought of meeting her lips now after so long… Have some self-control, self. We don't want her to leave again...
