ALPHA KAMILAH’S POV “What?” I asked them irritatedly, more like snapped. I looked at my wristwatch, seeing that it was past my pack’s curfew. I have to get back as soon as possible and watch over them. I know Almiro is capable enough and my beta Louisa can handle it but just to be sure. I tried to mind link them but they were not even responding. Something must have happened. I feel a bit panicked inside. Gusev’s teasing look turned to me and Alpha Magnus’ hopeful eyes from the second floor looked at me with emotion. “Nothing, just want to see your beautiful face for more than a moment, little kitten,” Gusev said, and I just rolled my eyes. “Little kitten? Wow Gusev, mosquito sucker!” I argued back, insulting him. I really hate that little kitten name. It just irks me. But that didn't take an effect on Gusev as he grinned more, “Ooh, so we’re on the giving nicknames stage huh?” He teased me. “Gusev, stop bothering her.” I heard Alpha Magnus’s strong and intimidating voice ordering the stupid vampire but the vampire just took his tongue out at him childishly. Should have known that nothing good will come from following this vampire. “I want to offer to take you back to your pack but I know you will reject me like you always do.” Said Alpha Magnus, then gave a small smile at me, “Take care, Alpha Kamilah.” I just gave him a look, “No, you take care. The second those rogues come after me again, I’ll come after you. You better put a leash on those bastards, got that?” He just nodded and I instantly walked away from them. I got back to my pack and told Tamara’s parents about the incident. I also ordered Almiro to arrange the funeral and left the paperwork to Louisa. I massaged my temples, feeling tired from today. I could have collapsed if I was my past self. Thank goodness I am managing now. *** The next morning, I was woken up by a familiar scent. I instantly sat upright and looked to my left to see him. Gusev. “Hey, there little kitten.” In a reflex, my hand went up to his head and hit him. “Ouch! That hurt, alpha queen!” He complained and I grabbed his throat and pinned him to the wall. “What are you doing in my packhouse?” I hissed at him. I mind-linked Almiro and Louisa and both were not responding to me. Tsk. What are those lazy ones doing now to have let this bug inside? And in my room? “Chill! I wanted to surprise you, Alpha Kamilah.” “We are not someone who could be buddy, mosquito head,” I yelled at him. He tried to loosen my grip on his neck but since I was stronger, he gave up. “C’mon! I want to get to know you now.” He announced. No surprise, he knows exactly where my packhouse is and even managed to slip by my warriors... “Don’t forget you are in my territory, Vampire. I could easily get you out of here.” “But you’re not doing it. Which means you love my company. So I’ll stay here for you and chat with you.” I sighed, loosening my grip now feeling my eyebrows are just going to get wrinkles talking to this insect. “I don’t have time to deal with you.” He really is like a pest. “Oh, I’ll be quiet. I'm just curious to see what an Alpha Queen does in her everyday routine. You know, for old times sake. ” “Leave. I’ll get ready now.” I demanded and he quickly obliged. “Alright!” He then opened the window and jumped down. I went to my bathroom and showered and got prepared for the day. I put on my black tank top and my favorite black jeans. My schedule will be full today, training the pups, overseeing the schools, and my business. Once I was ready, I opened the door and saw Gusev the vampire sitting cross-legged on the floor, drawing some heart shapes on the red carpet. “Oh, you’re done already?” “You still stayed?” I asked back sassily. He just shrugged and dust his pants off as he stood up. I instantly started to walk, attempting to leave him but he was fast and instantly came to my side, “So what are we doing first today?” “None of your business,” I replied. Plus, I have to drive him away. He might be a spy. Almiro instantly came into sight, holding a bunch of papers with Louisa by his side. I stopped them with a glare, “Why did you let this insect in?” Louisa raised her eyebrows, used to my attitude. She glanced at Gusev and back at me, “Oh, must have slipped from our hands as we’re busy doing all your work that you’re supposed to finish last week.” She replied sarcastically, not even bothering to hide her irritation.
I raised my eyebrows at her and Almiro took a step forward, “I’ll tighten the security next time. I apologize, Alpha Kamilah.”
I nodded at him, “Good. Make sure you do that. I know I could rely on you, Almiro.”
I glanced a disgusting look at the vampire beside me who seemed to not care about us as he looked fascinatedly at some rare artifacts on my wall.
He turned to me, “Wow! I had looked everywhere on Earth for this rare piece of the bowl. Who knew you had this one?”
I sighed and faced Almiro, “Next time, don’t even let him step foot here.”
I continued walking as Almiro and Louisa parted ways from me. Gusev stayed on following me. “You know, your blood is too delicious for a werewolf.”
“I didn’t tell you to talk to me,” I responded as we neared the training grounds I built for my pack. It was just an open area full of grass, with trees surrounding us. I would sometimes hold contests and let them hunt for food. “I couldn’t help but just think of it, my personal juice box.” He added.
With that, I glared at him, “Do you realize you're talking to an Alpha Queen? Show some respect. I’ll kill you if you keep on calling me a juice box and talk about my blood.”
He just chuckled at me and I instantly pushed him into the sunlight.
He yelped in pain, his skin forming some wounds. He instantly went to a shade and cast a look at me, “Do you really think I would just get killed like that?”
“Nope. But I hope. At Least I did some damage.”
He shook his head, his arms now fully healed, and came closer to me, “You really want to kill me, do you?”
“What else? You trespassed on my packhouse, and you keep bugging me.”
“You're so hard to get. I just want to befriend you and somehow woo you.”
At that, I paused. “I am warning you this early. I do not belong to anyone. Understand?”
“Want me to change your mind then?”
Just then, our bickering was cut off by someone.
“You look beautiful as always, Alpha Kamilah.” Karleen, one of my strongest warriors, commented.
Her nose sniffed the air and scrunched in disgust at Gusev beside her.
“And who’s this?”
“No one, he trespassed here. Don’t mind this insect. I’ll dispose of him soon.”
Karleen instantly got in a defensive stance as her eyes looked menacingly at Gusev, “Should I kill him?” Gusev’s eyes widened in horror and looked at me nervously, “Alpha Kamilah! Help!”
I smirked, “Go on, Karleen.” I urged her, taunting Gusev.
Gusev whimpered, giving me a puppy eyes look but I held on. I just want to give him a bit of a scare. Karleen seemed to get my hint as she joined along. “Alpha Kamilah,” Louisa’s voice interjected, which Gusev was thankful for as he managed to get out of the situation. “Yes?” I replied, noticing the big wrapped box in her hands and a bouquet of red roses, “What is that?” “Someone dropped this off in front of your room.” She said, “It’s a gift from someone, I think.” Furrowing my eyebrows, I looked at the box as Louisa placed it on the ground. I sniffed to check who it was but whoever gave this was smart enough not to leave any scent. Great. What a mysterious creature to have me guess. “Oooh, a secret admirer?” Gusev interjected, grabbing the piece of paper that fell off the box.
