Chapter 30 Ignoring game

I watched how Darian’s gentle smile turned grim as Valentina snatched him away from me.
“Darian!”
I yelled, but somehow, my voice was nowhere.
I cried out in frustration, running after them but the ground seemed to stretch, and Alpha Rufus, the last Alpha of the Shadow pack appeared from behind me.
“You’ve been a good child. I apologize for everything. You’ll know your true identity soon.”
I blinked, letting what he said process me. As far as I know, Alpha Rufus is dead. Killed by Alpha Magnus 150 years ago…
Why is he appearing now?
I suddenly got a hold of things. This is a dream.
“Is this….a dream.”
“Depends on what you perceive it to be….but I’ve been trying to reach out to you for a long time.”
He should be on the Moon goddess by now..did he somehow have a mission he did not get to finish in this world? Is that why his soul is still roaming around?
Millions of questions buzzed through my mind, and I watched as darkness engulfed me. I stopped trying to reach out to them, seeing Darian, Valentina, and Alpha Rufus were gone.
“Let me drink your blood,” Gusev suddenly appeared and I pushed him away. No, this is a dream. Just a dream.
I started to run away into the abyss, and Alpha Magnus' face welcomed me. “Wake up, you’re going to be late.” He said to me.
I raised my eyebrows, “What?”
“Wake up, you’re going to be late.” Said a voice, waking me up. I groaned, not wanting to be woken up as I wanted to melt into slumber. The harsh sunlight hit my face and I dug my face deeper into my comfortable mattress.
“Five more minutes Louisa!” I yelled and heard silence after.
“You’ve been saying that for an hour already.”
I instantly snapped my eyes open hearing that voice. No...it can’t be…“Magnus?” I yelled in disbelief.
Yes, there he was, in all his glory, Alpha Magnus sitting by the chair on my bedside table to my right.
I breathed in and out, trying to calm myself down.
“Good morning, baby.” He greeted, his eyes glancing up at me as he read the newspaper in his hands, “You’ve been screaming in your sleep. I didn’t want to wake you up since you’ve been salivating there. Must be a nice sleep.”
I pushed the blanket further, hiding from him, “Why didn’t you wake me up? And you again? I thought we settled this matter of you entering my room last night?”
He closed the newspaper from his hands and stood up, “Yes, we did… But I’d like to take you somewhere today..”
I cocked my head to the side, “Who said I’ll let you?”
He shrugged at my mocking, “Me….“I won't stop bothering you here in your room if you won’t listen to my request today…”
I gritted my teeth, “Are you threatening me?”
He thought about it for a moment, “Hmmm… you could say that.”
Standing up, I grabbed my metal hanger placed on my table and pointed it at him, “Leave! I’ll get dressed now.”
His eyes gazed at the hanger and up at me, his eyes twinkling with happiness, “So you’ll come with me?”
I crossed my arms in front of me, “Depends if you’re not going to annoy me now.”
His lips turned into a full smirk and nodded, “Alright, I’ll leave, I’ll be waiting outside.”
He started to walk away, using the door properly this time. As soon as he left, I immediately took a shower and got dressed quickly. I looked left and right, looking for him, and jumped down through my window just to avoid him.
I immediately went to the training ground and instructed everyone, just as I usually do.
“Alpha Kamilah, you’re here?” Louisa’s confused face asked.
“Yeah? Why? Don’t you want me here?”
She shook her head, ‘No, I just thought that Alpha Magnus took you out on a date?”
I gave a disappointed look at my beta, “So you planned with him? And let him?”
She played with the hem of her shirt, smiling nervously at me, “He...promised something to me in return. Please, go with him!”
Louisa grabbed my hand and tried to drag me but since I was stronger, I pushed her hand away. “What? Did he promise you to buy food? Flowers? Or date Dimitri?”
As I said the last option, her eyes widened and her cheeks flushed.
I rolled my eyes, so I was right. My instincts were right. No, I am always right. Wow. So much for loyalty from my subordinates.
I clicked my tongue as she held my hand, pleading with me and apologizing but I squirmed my gaze, looking around for any sign of my right-hand man, my loyal bodyguard. “Where’s Almiro? I’ll take your position as beta and give it to him.”
I said seriously, half meaning it and half teasing her. Take that for not being loyal enough. She would honestly leave me if someone bribed her enough. I assure you.
Louisa may be loyal a bit, but she sometimes easily gives in to temptations.
“He’s been gone, He’s gone with some errands you forgot to do. As an alpha. He’s been doing your errands alone for years now, without him, this pack would have been in mess. Why not make him the alpha?” She retorted back with raised eyebrows and I was silenced.
Damn, give it to Louisa for her ability in retorting back.
And it annoys me that she’s right. Almiro has been there since he was little, and I have never seen him slacking in every job I gave him. And I was just taking him for granted…I have to treat Almiro when he returns. I guess I owe it to him that my pack is running smoothly until now.
“Meetings? How about my meetings? I can attend those.” I changed the topic and Louisa gave me a side-eye.
“You never attended any of your meetings…so you really don’t want a date with Alpha Magnus? Such a waste, you two look so good together..” She said and suddenly asked, “You never told us about your past with him.”
I gulped, now realizing that. Yes, I planned on not telling anyone about it and I plan on staying that way. “You and Almiro were both children when that happened. I don’t want to dig up the past.”
Louisa stayed silent, sensing the awkward tension in the air. Thank goodness she’s not the kind who pokes on someone's business so she just let the topic drop.
“Go to your study, I lined up every meeting you have for today,” She instructed and got back to going about her business. I instantly ran to my office and saw my schedule lined up for the day.
I grinned, this is the first time that I have been happy that I have had a lot of meetings. I could divert my attention and focus on this matter. After all, this is for the benefit of the pack.
I signed up all the papers that were towering on the desk. I even made some notes on what to change and improve and saw that three hours had passed.
I smirked, surely, Alpha Magnus wuld have gotten the clue and left already?
But dang I was wrong. The door burst open, revealing a very angry Alpha Magnus. I ignored him, focusing on the paper in front of me.
I heard his heavy footsteps and deep breathing as his hands slammed on my table. I expected him to yell but instead, his tone was soft when he asked, “Are you avoiding me?”
