Chapter 33 Dimitri's POV

DIMITRI’S POV
I watched as our Alpha, Alpha Magnus, returned to the pack with a smirk playing on his lips.
I raised my eyebrows, “So, how was your date?”
He just nodded, trying to keep his calm and maintain his composure but I already saw his dark orbs twinkling in delight.
“It was alright.”
I nodded, “Congrats, I really thought she wouldn’t go with you.”
He shrugged, “Well, what can I say? I’m irresistible. And I won’t stop until I slowly get my mate’s trust back.” He then stopped, “What should I do next?”
I smirked, knowing he would ask me this. I was the one who suggested to her how he should act and where to take her today. I am the mastermind of their date haha, coming from an inexperienced werewolf myself, I’m a bit experienced with women after all.
Giving advice and him actually listening to me really inflamed my ego, as someone whom he never listens to.
I motioned for Alpha Magnus to come and I whispered in his ears, “I know she might have accepted you a bit, but there’s still some trust issues left…You have to pour your heart next time and make sure you’re extra sincere.”
He raised his eyebrows, “How?”
“You can do some cute couple stuff next, since we’re in the 21st century, ask her number if she has a cellphone, or if she agrees again, takes her to some arcade gaming and win her some cute stuffed toys.”
Alpha Magnus looked at me suspiciously, “Are you sure? Or are you just making fun of me now?”
“I watched it in the movies…girls love to see some strong men after them, someone who they know they can depend on,” I assured him, giving a 100% advice.
He clicked his tongue, “You know how different Kamilah is. She won’t like it.”
I patted him on the back, “Trust me, alpha, years of being by herself will make her cave into some affection.”
Giving me one last glare, he nodded, “I’ll kill you if this will mess things up.” Then he stopped, “Oh, but you’ll be the one who’s going out next, Dimitri.”

I cocked my head, sipping on the glass of coffee in my hand, “Why?”
“I made a deal with her beta, Louisa to let me have a date with her alpha but in exchange for her going out with you.”
I nearly choked on my own spit. “You what?”
I muttered a curse under my breath. SO that’s why Alpha Kamilah had asked me about something of a “deal”. Goodness, I never expected it would be involving me in the scene.
I slowly tried to escape from the alpha’s grasp but he grabbed my shoulders, “Na uh, you have to go out with her. What’s worse that could possibly go?”
“I have a lot of woke pile up, sir, cause you’ve been busy ditching all of it to me, remember?” I reasoned out, putting the blame on him but he just gave a demanding look at me.
“Na uh, aren’t you my beta? It’s part of your work.”
I heaved a sigh, “I should have resigned from this position a long time ago.” I really regret this. Fuck. if not only we were childhood friends and not trained hard, damn it. Why did I even work hard to attain this position a hundred years ago if I ended up working myself to death with a demanding alpha beside me?
I couldn’t even count the times I nearly escaped death.
I thought being a beta of the famous ruthless, merciless, and powerful Alpha would let me have the fame and I could just get chill with my job but no, the alpha here in front of me if far from that. He’s busy being attache and bringing his woman over just because he screwed up in the past.
If that’s what mates do to one, then I wouldn’t even want to have one.
Thank goodness that the blood moon doesn’t even show signs of me having one. I’m so thankful for my very single love life. Life is not just about having women around you, isn’t it?

I am perfectly satisfied being alone.
“Tomorrow, Dimitri, 8 in the morning. Take her somewhere fun, alright?” Alpha Magnus instructed to me, patting my back and leaving me now.
Sighing and not having any other choice, I just continued work and slept for the day. When tomorrow did arrive, I woke up an hour before, staring at myself in the mirror.
I could just ditch this stupid deal the alpha made, but I shouldn’t let the she-wolf get wait there alone.
Alright, I’ll go and tell her that I don’t have any plan of dating…
Good luck to me, it has been years since I last entertained a few she-wolves. I hope she’ll take the rejection nicely.
I arrived at the human town near the road and went to the met up the place. It was the ice cream shop famous around here, the Snow’s Ice Cream store. I heard the owner was a human who fell in love with a woman and instantly named this store after her name, which is now his wife.
Kind of romantic isn’t it? Love really makes someone do anything for one another.
I sat by the nearest chair facing the entrance so I could instantly sense Alpha Kamilah’s beta entering.
I mean, I already saw and met Alpha Kamilah’s beta. She’s a bit younger than me, but she seemed nice. I could remember her wearing thick sunglasses and she has some green highlights in her short curly hair…

I ordered first a refreshment, constantly looking at the clock to check if I did arrive in time. Fifteen minutes had already passed since our destined time…
Thirty minutes had passed but still, she didn’t come.
“Sir, are you waiting for someone?” Asked the staff, who was also curious.
I nodded, “I am…”
But an hour passed and she was still nowhere. I gritted my teeth, feeling like she stood me up.
I just started to pay the bill and walk out of the shop when I bumped into someone.
I looked at her and saw it was Alpha Kamilah’s Beta. She was wearing some tight denim jeans and a white tank top, but what caught my eye is her short curly hair with green highlights…It’s actually..pretty up close.
She cursed under he breath, still not seeing when she looked up and her bright hazel eyes widened, “Oh…Dimitri right?”
I nodded, “I am…and Louisa right?”
She nodded, looking at her wristwatch, and gasped, “I..apologize for arriving late! There were many papers and-”
“It’s alright, I just waited for an hour,” I assured her and her cheeks flushed red, up to her ears that reddened too.
She must be feeling guilty.
I offered to sit first and offered to let her order some ice cream. She ordered a mint-flavored and then I started to speak up, “I hope you don’t mind but since we’re complete adults now, I want to get straight to the point. To be honest, I came here today to say that I am not interested.”

She looked at me blankly for a minute and when my words reached her, she furrowed her eyebrows at me, “What?”
I crossed my hands in front of me, “I said I’m not interested.”
“What made you think I was interested in you?”
I paused at what she asked, confused, “But Alpha Magnus had made a deal with you to get a date with me right?”
She nodded, brushing her hair carelessly, “Yes, I just did that to see how things will go,” She replied.
I gulped, feeling a bit embarrassed. So I got a hold of things in advance..
Ahh, such a shame.
“I kind of was interested in you but after seeing you now, assuming it, I don’t think so.”
“What?” I couldn’t fathom she just indirectly said I was a turn-off. Me? Dimitri? A gentlemen, turned her off? “I was the one who waited for an hour here.”
“So?” She asked, “Also, I came here to tell you to deliver my alpha’s message. Stop pursuing me, Alpha Magnus.” She said, her order now appearing and she got up, “I think that’s all I wanted to say unless you want to say something?”
My mouth opened and closed, tongue-tied. She a bit…too direct…
I hate to admit it but she-wolves like her intimidate me.
Smirking, she leaned in and gave a little peck on my check before winking at me, “Bye. I impart you my goodbye kiss. And thank you for this.”
I watched as she walked away, leaving me alone confused. My hands instinctively reached for my cheek, the part where she kissed me. It was quick and abrupt, but why did I feel a spark of electricity?
Whoa, what that? Did I get here to reject her, only for me to get rejected?
I sounded like a teenager, but I feel my ego crushed at this. NO, this is not the famous philosopher Dimitri, an expert on dating and giving advice.
Just wait, Louisa…
