A day has passed since yesterday’s “date” with Alpha Magnus happened.
Louisa has gone to complete her deal with Alpha Magnus about Dimitri and I’m left alone in my office, with Almiro standing guard as always.
Since I had finished all my tasks for this week, I stared at the ceiling in boredom, sitting and plopping my hand on my desk.
“Almiro, what should I do today?” I asked him.
Compared to Louisa who always nags me about my tasks and teases me, Almiro is the quiet one who offers comfort and peace to me, which is just as I needed after a long day yesterday.

I nodded, “Thanks…hmm, What makes me happy?” I asked myself. Goodness, years of living with my own and I don’t even completely know what I prefer to do.
Shall I go to town? Nah, I prefer to stay at home for now. Seeing Almiro now, I’m suddenly reminded that I have to treat him to something nice.
I instanlty grabbed my car keys and my black hoodie, “I’ll be right back, Almiro.”

Sensing that he wanted to come with me, he seated by the passnger seat.
I mind linked Karleen, my warrior to take charge in protecting my pack and she instantnly understood it. I drove us to the neares waffle house in town. The one where I usually buy his favorite waffles.
I parked the car first and we entered the store, with Almiro beside me sniffing the air. He may act mature all the time, especially when he reached adulthood, but he’s still acting like a little pup inside.
I ordered his favorite chocolate flavored and we stayed, eating silently as Almiro digged in the food.
I chuckled, “You’re still the same little pup I found, remember that?”
He nodded, smiling a bit as his cheeks flushed, “Thank you, alpha. For everything… if you didn’t took me in, I would have gone rogue and wandered aimelessly.”

He gasped, “Oh, I apologize, Kamilah.. ” My name rolled out his tongue in a strange tone and I chuckled. How cute. I could hear my pack members saying they sometimes find Almiro intimidating as he’s the only male I had in the pack. But I have to reason to them that that’s just how he is. I never found him intimidating as for my eyes, I could still see him as the little pup I saw last decades ago.
He cleared his throat to grab my attention, “If you don’t mind me asking, can I ask why are you treating me to food today?”
“I just want to treat you as I was busy recenlty nad dind’t have spedn time wiht you. You know how you’re like my little brother.” He nodded, seemigly satisfied at my answer. I let him order again as he finished almost 10 waffles until he burped, finally full.
On our way home, I bought some take homes for my other pack members to eat later as a snack.
“It has been such a long time I saw you, Kamilah!” greeted the store owner, the old man Edmund, which is a human. I had been friends with him that I would sometimes finish all his stock for the day, which he would happily do so.
I smiled at him, “Yes, same to you, Edmund, how’s business doing?”
“Sometimes good, sometimes bad. But I’m happy that you dropped by. You still look so young and beautiful. It’s finally time to have some boyfriend or marry a man, don’t you think?” He teased and I chuckled.
“No, haha, I’m still busy working on myself,” I simply replied.
“Come on, if there are suitors, why not entertain them? It’s finally time you’ll get happy, don’t you think?”

Almiro sensed my change of mood and just silently help me get the waffle to the training grounds and sent it to Karleen to distribute to the others.
“Oh, you didn’t have to buys us some food, Alpha.”
I looked at them, smiling at everyone as they greeted me. They all were sweating in the heat, busy training as I expected them to be. “You deserve to take a rest and eat first. Eat the waffles while it’s still hot.”
They happily squelled and excitedly grabbed one for themselves.

Just then, my offce’s door opened and a certain vampire entered the room dramatically, a wide grin on his face as he made his entrance. “Oh, I know what we’re going to do today.”
I sighed, not expecting him to come today after disappearing for days, “Thought you wouldn’t return in bothering me here.”
“Who said I won’t?” He asked, “I mean, did you missed me, Kamilah? Don’t you want to ask what I’ve been up to?”
I shook my head boredly, “No, thanks. I’m not interested.”
He smirked, “Well since you asked, then I’ll tell you. I just did some personal business, slaying some vampires in the north that had gone berserk…”
My ears perked up, “Vampires?”
He nodded, “Yes, Looks like Druscilla had tipped off some vampires and controlled them.”
I gritted my teeth, so that stupid elder won’t just stop in triggering me. So obsessed with me.
“And? Do you have some more information-”
He put his hands on my lips, silencing me, “I knew you would get interested with this, but relax, I have all the time in the world.” He said, pun intented. “Let’s go back to the most important matter here. After all, I don’t want you getting bored.”

I crossed my arms in front of me, “And? What do you suggest?”
“Let’s some a human activity called ‘Movie marathon.” He offered, poining at the big television hanging in my office that I barely used. I just bought that last year for aesthetics, adding decoration to my office.
He then grabbed the remote and turned on the big screen without even asking for my permission and I let him, since I had nothing to do anyway. Of course I know movies which offer entertainment to humans...but I didn't know they would have something called marathon for humans.
"What's that?" I asked him.
He then started to explain, "We'll basically binge-watch these movies. I'm kind of latest to trends these days."
I nodded, noticing something, "You like to do human things, Gusev. Don't you wish to become human?"
He paused a bit and I could see the pupils in his eyes dilating, he shrugged, "Sometimes...but I jut enjoy watching them do little things that give them joy. It makes me how different they live compared to us. Like they need to eat, sleep, and repeat the cycle just to survive. Can you imagine if we need that?"
I shrugged, "We werewolves also eat and sleep…Each creature has heir own twist to it." I guess we werewolves are the moest closest to humans who could coexist with them. We’re pretty much similar, except some keen senses and shapeshifting…
He nodded, aggreeing at me.
Now that we are talking about this topic, it sometimes crossed me, but not to that extent. I looked at Gusev, watching as his eyes held an uknown emotion. He must have some deep connection with humans to be affected like this.
Although he's never serious, this is the first time I seen him taking this topic seriously.
