Chapter 37 Game of Hearts

I raised my eyebrows, standing my ground, “So you want another thing from me. Fine, what is it?”
“Your number.” He suddenly blurted out and I processed what he said.
“Why? When you know our company’s email? You could contact me there.”
He sighed, withdrawing from me and standing tall now, leaning on the wall behind him, “You could ignore my message or delete it there. I want to text you or call you.”
I nodded, getting his point but asked again, “Is that all that you wanted from me that you came here so early in the morning?”
He nodded, staring at me with a serious look on his face. His dark eyes gazing at me, waiting for my response.
I grabbed my latest model of phone and rolled it in my hands, “You could get my phone number to Louisa…why bother coming here personally?”
He shook his head, “No, getting it from her and getting it from you personally is different.”
“I see…” My hands then waited for him to put his phone. “Okay, give me your phone.”
He did as I ordered and instantly put his phone in my hand. I unlocked it, surprised why he didn’t have any passcode. His wallpaper is a picture of him and his whole pack, with him smiling wide and Dimitri beside him.
I then clicked the phone icon and typed my phone number, handing it back to him when I was finished. “Done. So? Can you leave now? I have work to do.” I said harshly, lying a bit since I had already finished all my tasks for the week.
“Did you get enough sleep?” He suddenly asked.
I looked at him, confused about why he was changing the topic. “Uhm yeah?”
“Want to go to town?” He offered, making me breathe deeply, clenching my teeth in annoyance.
"Again? But I just accepted your request last time. Will you please leave? While I'm still asking nicely?"
He looked a bit hurt at what I said and nodded, “Alright, if that’s what you want then…I apologize for bothering you.” And with that, he started to walk away, his feet heavy and dragging with each step.
He looked a bit hurt at what I said and nodded, “Alright, if that’s what you want then…I apologize for bothering you.” And with that, he started to walk away, his feet heavy and dragging with each step.
I bit my lip, feeling guilt swarming up inside me. He just really wanted to spend time with me and earn my trust. And how could he do that when I’m not opening my doors?
“Wait.” Before he could close the door, I spoke up.
He turned around and looked at me with hopeful eyes, “Yes?”
He looked a bit hurt at what I said and nodded, “Alright, if that’s what you want then…I apologize for bothering you.” And with that, he started to walk away, his feet heavy and dragging with each step.
Even though he already spoiled me with enough stuff at the mall last time, I still wanted to have some alone time with myself now…but also to empty his pockets. I drove in my own car and he followed me silently. I went to the mall to buy myself sunglasses to cover my eyes. I contemplated which one to choose. The rectangle black Chanel sunglasses or the Dior round sunglasses.
“Get the Chanel one. It suits your small face.” I heard a voice saying from behind me. I didn't have to turn around to guess who it is, he was reading a magazine on the sofa in a stall. I glared at Alpha Magnus and chose the Dior sunglasses, the opposite of what he said.
He shook his head at me in disappointment, clicking his tongue. “You chose the opposite but don’t still look good on you.” He then went to the staff employee and gave his credit card, “I’ll pay whatever she picks.” He said, winking at me.
I just sighed and left the store, wanting to do something else.
When I reached the salon, I was not surprised when I saw Alpha Magnus waiting for me by the door.
“Want a makeover? But I like your long hair.” He commented.
I sat by the chair as an employee accommodated me. I asked for a shorter cut that reaches my shoulders, and Alpha Magnus smirked, “Still looks good you.”
“Stop following me,” I said irritatedly as I walked away.
“Not until you come with me.”
I could sense some humans turning their heads in our direction. Not to look at me like they usually do, but they were looking at Alpha Magnus beside me, who was standing tall amongst the crowd, gaining more attention.
I just left the mall and went to an amusement park. Let’s see if he can still follow me. I rode a roller coaster, the scariest ride there, according to humans.
“I’m not even scared. This is fun.” I heard Alpha Magnus saying from behind me. As we started, he was screaming and I laughed.
I rode a few more rides and I felt him leave.
So sighed in relief, happy that I’m finally alone now.
So my plan was a bit right. I’ll just have to continue doing my own thing until he’ll give up on his own.
Ten minutes had passed, since I’m alone, not until some woman commented from beside me.
“Who is that handsome man? I’m sure his girlfriend would be lucky.” She gossiped to her friend and they squealed, running to where that man they were talking to. I had a feeling they were talking about that ‘someone’ so I quietly followed them and shook my head as soon as I arrived at the stall.
Right there, in the stall holding a fake gun as he shoot at the stuffed toys, was Alpha Magnus standing tall as a crowd started to gather around him.
He spotted me and waved at me, and the humans looked at me, silently judging me. I rolled my eyes at them and smirked a bit as I watched their judgy eyes turn jealous when Alpha Magnus approached me.
He grabbed a bag of the handful of stuffed toys and offered it to me, “That was too easy, I won all of these for you.”
I glanced at the stall owner who was cursing under his breath, knowing some random man just made his business go bankrupt.
Accepting the stuffed toys, we started to walk together, “So? Where do you want to go now?”
I looked at the sky. It had become dark now. Having another idea, l just smirked. “Somewhere.” I then drove and he was still following me with his own car.
As soon as we hopped off of our car, we were greeted by humans lining up and a bouncer waiting by the entrance.
“The line is from the end, did you have any reservation?” The tall man, an inch smaller than Alpha Magnus asked, his eyes trailing to my dress and to Alpha Magnus.
“No, but I have this.” I showed him my special card and he gasped in surprise when he saw it and cleared his throat, trying to regain composure as bowed a bit,
“A…VIP? Oh, I apologize, Miss Kamilah.” The bouncer stuttered and offered to leave the way, “This way please.”
I smirked, hiding my VIP card in my bag. I’m not a party-goer a few decades ago for nothing.
Alpha Magnus pulled me behind him protectively and leaned in to whisper, “To a bar?” He gave a look at me, not expecting me to do this,
I shrugged, “I mean, you can choose not to follow if you don’t want to.”
He gritted his teeth, glaring at the bouncer in front of us who has been waiting, “Are you planning on looking for another man?” He gritted his teeth, “Then more reason for me to come with you. I have to guard you if anything happens…”
I followed the bouncer and Alpha Magnus sighed behind me, also tailing behind me.
The music blasted through the speakers and sweaty people dancing around the floor welcomed us. I scrunched in disgust and the bouncer lead us up the stairs where the VIP area was, which was much calmer. There were a few people already here, with some higher-ranking officials of the humans, chilling around the area.
We sat by the stool as the bartender made drinks. As time went on, Alpha Magnus was on alert, scrutinizing everyone and watching their every move.
“Tequila please,” I requested to the bartender and as soon as he gave it to me, Alpha Magnus grabbed it form means sniffed it before passing it on to me.
I raised my eyebrows, “Why?”
“I check it for any poison…” He whispered and I sighed, he still looks uneasy around and was protective…He’s really keen on his role being my bodyguard for today.
