Camila*_* I went into the Casino and straight to my office, ignoring any remark and anything that required my attention, both important and unimportant ones. What was most important was my life— my crumbled and shattered life was healing and at the same time shattering, again. What the fuck was going on? And in the middle of my internal nuisance, the door was disturbed. "Who is it?" I asked. "Uhm sorry, wrong door" he said and I heard two different female voices giggling till they departed from my corner. "Bitches about to get fucked. Shameless hoes'' I snarled and stared closely at the CCTV monitors. I was looking for someone— Logan. But surprisingly, he was nowhere to be found. Why didn't he follow me? I felt good and bad at the same time. He would be off my tail, that was good. And I wouldn't be feeling the Logan feeling anymore— which was bad. A couple of hours were killed while I was reflecting back at everything that had happened and waiting for Logan to show up. Why would he leave me alone even if I said so? I pinched myself at the thought that he might have actually gotten over it all. But why would he forsake the journey when he hadn't started yet? Back at the hospital, I couldn't tell what happened and why it happened, but one thing was sure, I was healing because of him or maybe his presence just aided my speedy recovery? Just like the feeling I felt the last couple of hours, it never got old, it was ever refreshing and made anew. Logan was defying my rules though and letting me think that everything I had seen men as wasn't all true. But there was a more important question which left nothing other than imaginary holes. "Who is Logan Creed?" I asked myself, biting my lips. My eyes rolled over to the computer at the other side of the table and I rolled my chair to it, typing in "Logan Creed" on the search console at once, but nothing mysterious was brought up. But I saw something which was rather interesting. Logan Creed was a benefactor and a property acquisitor but that was like a hundred years ago, and he had properties… I scrolled down the page to get the list of properties, it was said to have been acquired since the founding of Las Vegas, and… a knock on the door jolted me away! "Ugh Damn, now what?!" I yelled. "Sorry Camila is me…" Oh that was a familiar voice. "I'm coming right at you, a minute please…" I turned to the printer and printed out the page and I went to the door without picking it up when it slid to the floor. "Hey…" I smiled. "How are you, Peterson? …" Pretending to be genuinely happy. "I'm doing well, ma'am…" he smiled back I stepped out of the office and shut the door behind me. "So, how can I help you today Peterson?" I asked, maintaining a cool face. But the last thing I needed was disturbance of any kind. "You won't believe it! But it's actually happening…" the lines of excitement that craved on his face showed that he was genuinely happy, And I wondered why. "Guess what?" I chuckled, and put on a mean face at once, he knew better than anyone not to give me that bullshit game of guessing, is either you got straight to the point or never bring it up. He looked at me and cleared his throat. "Well, the owner of our Casino wants to see us…" he smiled. Wait, that can't be true. "What? Owner of the Casino?" I was surprised because the owner had never been mentioned since I started working as a Slot Operations Manager and I had completely forgotten that there was such a thing as an owner. "I know right! Everyone is really excited about this. For the first time, all the employees get to see the CEO in person…" "Do you know who he is?" "Not really, neither does anyone else" he replied and turned to leave. "Oh, in 30 minutes time, Executive hall, last floor, but almost everyone is there now, see you soon" Executive hall? Last floor? Wow, pretty exciting, I had never been there before. I checked myself, I was all set and there was no reason to go back to my office so I set out to the last floor, through the elevator. **** We were settled in no time and I counted more than nine dozens of employees, including employees from the other divisions of the Casino. I never knew that we had so many employees. Everyone was excited to meet the Owner of the Casino and the excitement was brewing up with every passing minute. A few minutes later, his presence was announced. "Oh, he is punctual as well? What a good CEO…" I muttered to myself. "I know right…" Peterson whispered into my ear. I didn't even know he was sitting beside me. "Oh…" I looked at him. "Stop nosing around, or earring around, whichever one, will you?" He chuckled and flung his arm in agreement. I was opportuned to sit at the big executive table because I was taken as a top official, and the empty head chair was about to get occupied by the CEO. The restricted area door that connected the Executive hall with the helicopter base ground on top of the building was opened; they must have built it to let the CEO directly into the Executive hall whenever he was around. Maybe that was why nobody ever saw him. Two hefty men in black, stepped in and glanced around the hall as they made way for the CEO to enter. We all stood up to give him a warm standing ovation and with broad smiles on every one's face, my heart almost stopped beating when the man came in… "Is that—" Jacques recognised him as well. I gulped. "Logan Creed, yes"
