Chapter 33 The Vampire Is A Problem
*Logan*_*
After a few sips from my personal wine glass, I thought about Camila again. I couldn't stop thinking about her, even if I wanted to, but the truth was that I couldn't.
I knew what I did earlier, but I wished that she could change. But why was I acting like I was righteous? When I myself was on the path of redemption.
We were two imperfect mysterious monsters, and I was starting to feel what Buck was talking about. She made me weak and I made her calm, maybe stronger now.
But she was getting out of hand, and it doesn't feel good. I just hoped that I wouldn't lose her…
"Sorry to disturb you, sir…" I heard a voice precisely from the barn, and it could only be one person.
"Buck" I growled and rushed out from the house to the back yard. I hated his intrusions and that was why I had implied precautions in my house. But apparently, it wasn't enough.
Buck was standing in front of the strong wooden fence that outlaid to the woods behind the barn, with a vilainic smile.
"I must say, you have done pretty well in making sure I don't enter your pretty little billionaire mansion…" he said with a smile, walking toward me while I maintained my stance, folding and strengthening my fists for a strike if necessary.
"But sadly…" he continued, adjusting my collar. "those silver junkies can't keep me out of your life, unless you want to start consuming them, then that way, I wouldn't have to intrude, think about it… it would be a win win situation…" he said, widening his eyes. "You die, and I leave your ghost alone, fair enough?"
"What are you doing here?" I asked, taking a few steps back. I hated it when we were in close proximity.
"I heard about your little killing spree with your big violent vampire…"
"What do you mean?" I asked, curiously.
"Oh I and Camila had a little chat, and oh we might be the next unbreakable paddies the world has ever seen"
I growled, tightened my fist the more and without controlling it, my eyes turned. "I told you not to go near her!" I growled, and it didn't take time from that moment for my shifting to come to play;
I could feel my blood boil, I could hear everything better from afar, everything became sensitive as my ears elongated and my legs getting its turn around with the breaking of the leg bones, reshaping and restructuring for bigger, better and stronger legs.
The beating of my heart heaved up my chest as I watched him stare at me with a little bit of surprise and readiness.
His eyes gleamed blood red, his shifting was just around the corner, but his slippery tongue still had some words to let out. "So protective?! What do you think you are doing Logan?!"
"What do you think?!" I said through clenched teeth. My teeth had already restructured and my fangs had surfaced, gnarling for some deadly bites, although I would be done for if Buck's fang craved into my bone.
"You don't know what you are getting yourself into." He growled.
"That's not your problem, Buck"
"I am so much going to enjoy this…" he said as sketches of smile became apparent through his lips. His eyes gleamed blood red and his fangs started surfacing.
He howled into the air and was brought down by his shifting. He bowed to the earth on all four and I gasped as he shifted into a full wolf… I almost forgot who Buck was, the Alpha of the White Fang Pack.
A large Black wolf with brownish red tinted furs, and white fangs graced his mouth, making him look very deadly and dangerous.
Even his aura laced around fear to whatever and whoever was near. Just at the sight of his wolf, lesser werewolves could be shaken down.
I was in my full form, so was he and I rushed at him first, swinging arms for an effective strike with my claws, which got him to wince after a scratch on his body; he wasn't expecting that.
He growled, gnashed his teeth, dripping saliva; I would fall back, but Buck be damned! At the same pace, we dived at each other… Buck charged at me with his legs and claws and threw me to the ground which vibrated with my declining thud.
He growled on my face. "Maybe I need to remind you who I am"
"You can't threaten me!" I pushed him away from me and sprung up with force.
Buck was rather an arrogant Alpha and would want to show that he was stronger. He gnashed his teeth to show me that he was going to bite me. And it was in my best interest to make sure he doesn't.
So we circled around, looking forward to each other's attack.
"You call yourself an Alpha King, but you are packless. What a shame to the throne!" He growled, and rushed at me. I hit him off with my fist.
"Looks like I have been underestimating you, huh?" He said. I wasn't going to wait until he attacked again, I wanted to get rid of him already! I dived at him and he ducked, swirled around and hit me away with his back, and while I was suffering his hit, staggering up, he rushed at me and hit me with his whole body.
I was bursted out with the fence into the woods. With the dregs of my strength, I motioned to stand again, Buck was in transition, about to snap out of it.
He looked at me like I needed more beating. He growled and roared, rushed at me, ducked and upper headed me into a sharp tree branch which penetrated my back and sticked out of my chest.
After a persistent painful moaning and howling from me, he shifted back and smiled. He stood there with his nude figure watching me wallow in pains.
An ordinary werewolf would be dead if he stayed with a branch of tree in his chest for a long time.
"I will ask you again, what do you think you are doing, Logan?" He walked around, while I hung on the tree. I had pain to deal with than say a word which would take my strength. I struggled to get out of it, but the more I tried, the more it hurt.
"Don't worry, don't worry. I will do the talking…" he chuckled. "You know I think this whole Camila thing is getting out of hand…" he walked closer to me. "You must be cured of your insanity Logan. Camila is not who you think she is…"
And in the midst of all the pain swirling from my chest to my body, restricting the flow of blood, I could only say one thing. "Camila is mine" I muttered.
"How dare you think that you have a mate? How did it even occur to you that after all these years, you will be graced with a mate?..." He chuckled.
"From who? The werewolf God or the Moon Goddess? Soon, Logan, this won't just be mine alone to oppose. Just wait until the Council Of Elders gets to know about it. And sends the Trinity. You and I know that you don't stand a chance at even one Alpha." He was happy with what he was saying. His intentions couldn't be anything less diabolic than to break me.
"Just so you know. I have done more digging. Have you noticed how much more violent she has become? …" I looked at him with surprised eyes.
"Of course I know…" he shrugged. "Camila is one of the oldest Vampires. And you know what that means?"
My eyes widened and my heart beat raced on edges. No, it couldn't be possible! I shook my head persistently trying to break out from my death trap. I knew what it meant, and if Buck had found out about her, then he already had a plan.
"She is a threat to every werewolf, Logan" he said with a mean and determined face. "Even to you"
"No! No it can't be!" I kept struggling.
"Don't waste your blood and strength, Logan"
"Not when you are planning something against her!" I yowled.
He smiled. "You know me well, don't you?"
"What have you done?"
He walked around. "Nothing much, just helped her in her transition…"
"What do you mean?"
"Vampires as we all know has gone extinct many centuries ago. So to say, She is the only Vampire alive. And a true blood. And my best guess at her survival is that she did it to herself. She ceased to be a Vampire all those years. With the price being paid by her of course. Every five decades, she loses her memories. What ever life she had lived, and she starts life anew. Fortunately, she is still holding on to one…" he said with a satisfying smile.
"A memory which she thinks that she was just a kid, and that is going to make her final transition possible… her hatred for her not so dead aunt, and the organisation." Excitement carved character lines on his face.
"What have you done!" I growled and pulled myself out of the branch, halfway. Which felt like I was going to lose my breath forever.
"Be careful, you could end it all" he advised. "Whatever reason she had to change herself and stay half human and in a state of , how do I put it? Well, It can't be good. Vampires like her can't be good and she can't be ended without being a pure vampire."
"What do you mean, end her?" I muttered through failing breath.
"She has to complete her transition first. And all those people she has been killing have been counting to it. But it all came to live when she had an accident.
That accident killed her and triggered her recessive vampire genres. So to complete her transition, she needs to kill and drink some blood, even a drop of blood is enough… and that can only happen when there are enough violence, blood and bodies around her…"
Then it occurred to me, the text message I received from Camila before Buck interfered. "Sh-she found a lead?" I looked at Buck.
"No, she didn't find a lead. I sent her to their quarters, where she either gets killed or kill. Either way, her redemption is at hand. I will salvate her, Logan. I will free her from this meaningless life."
"No, you are not going to kill her!"
"You still don't understand, do you? It doesn't matter, if she lives, she would still die. You see, I'm not the only one who would want her dead, and you should too, because she will rip off your heart and devour it right in front of your face before you drop dead"Download Novelah App
