“We would be moving to Southampton now. Pack all your stuff, we move to the Heliport in ten minutes.” Vincenzo announced as he walked through the house. All the men in the house got busy, packing the little things they had to take along with them. Vincenzo looked at the large wall clock and saw it was getting late. He picked out his phone and wanted to call Bruno when he heard a car drive into the compound. He rushed to the living room and peeped out the window to see Bruni drive in. He rushed out of the house and stood in front of the door. He waited for Roberto to alight. When he alighted he walked to the mansion and Vincenzo bowed his head. Roberto walked past him without saying a word. As soon as he entered the mansion, Vincenzo rushed down to where the car was. He looked into the car through its window and saw Martina seated in the back seat. Her eyes were open and she was awkwardly blank. “You sat at the back with him?” She turned her head and looked at Vincenzo, she said no words and looked away. Vincenzo heaved a sigh and opened the door, he got into the car and sat next to her. He looked at Bruno, and he moved out of the car. He turned to look at Martina and spoke up; “I know you don’t want to talk to me, and I know you hate me for being a coward. I need you to understand that this is how I have been surviving my whole life. Roberto Galante saved me once and I owe him my life, I can go against him in any way. Not only because he would strangle me to death, but also because he is the only family I have.” Martina kept her gaze outside the car as she listened to Vincenzo. She refused to say anything to him, not because she was mad at him, but because she just didn’t want to talk to anyone. “I’m sorry, if I’m not going to be the brave man you want me to be Martina. Please don’t hate me because of that, I am nothing compared to him. I have human feelings, and I hate killing.” Martina turned to look at him, and he kept shut. “How is Caterina?” “I was about to tell you that. Caterina is home now.” Martina nodded and turned her head to look out of the window again. Vincenzo nodded reluctantly and moved out of the car. He understood the way she reacted to being part of Roberto’s doing. “I’d give her more time.” He told himself. Before he could enter the house, Roberto walked out of the mansion, and Vincenzo quickly bowed his head. “What are you going inside to do?” “Nothing, Mr. Roberto. I was coming to check on you,” Vincenzo’s head was still bowed as he spoke. “I don’t need you to check up on me. Get into the car, and let’s move.” Vincenzo rushed to the car where Martina was, and before he could enter, Roberto stopped him. “Not that car. I am going in that one.” Vincenzo creased his brows as his back was turned to Roberto, he seemed a little confused at that point. He thought Roberto traveled with Martina in the same car because there was only one car left at the hospital. But the cars were more than five, and Roberto still wanted to travel in the one Martina was. “I would move her into another car, Mr. Roberto.” “I didn’t ask you to do that. Let her be.” Roberto walked to the car, and all his men looked at him in amusement. Most times, Roberto preferred traveling in one car alone, though some rare times, he would travel with only Vincenzo. It was a great shock to them that Roberto wanted to stay next to Martina this time.” Vincenzo moved away from the car, and one of Roberto’s men hurried to open the door. Roberto entered the car and sat next to the moody Martina. While all these were going on, Martina kept her gaze out of the window where she sat. Sometimes, her eyes closed tiredly. She still needed a lot of rest. They all got into the other cars, Vincenzo sat in the car that was behind the one Roberto was seated. He looked into the car through the back glass. He kept his gaze on Martina and saw she didn't look at Roberto at all. The drivers ignited the engine, and they drove out of the compound one after the other. Two Ferrari cars were in front of the Bentley that Roberto was in, and about four other brands of his cars followed behind them. They drove at reasonable speed down to the Heliport, pulling attention to themselves on the streets of Bourbon, New Orleans, LA. Roberto asked Bruno to drive faster after he checked his Gucci wristwatch and saw the time was fast spent. Immediately, he alerted the cars in front with the mini microphone mouthpiece he had in his mouth. They increased the speed at which they drove, and all the cars behind them also did the same thing. They were still at this pace when all of a sudden the car in front of Roberto’s car pressed the brake. Bruno also slammed on the brakes suddenly, and he threw Roberto and Martina forward. Roberto who used his seatbelt quickly positioned his hand in front of Martina’s head. And instead of her hitting her head on the driver’s seat, her head came in contact with Roberto’s hands, preventing her from getting hurt. His eyes widened in rage as he looked at Bruno. “What the hell was that, you fool?!” “I am so sorry, Mr. Roberto, the car in front of me slowed down abruptly, and I needed to do the same thing.” He looked at Martina, and her head was still in his hand. She moved her head backward and rested her head on the head restraint. She shut her eyes very tight as she felt a throbbing pain in her head. “What the hell happened?” Bruno spoke into the microphone while Roberto gulped and looked out of his window. “Mr. Roberto, an old woman ran into the road and they had to slow down so that she wouldn’t get hit.” “Keep driving.” His voice was low and rough. He looked at Martina again, and he saw her eyes were still shut. “Why didn’t you use the seatbelt?” He loosened his seatbelt and moved closer to her. He leaned over and pulled the seatbelt from behind her and helped her fix it. Martina opened her eyes after she felt him close to her, and she stared at him. His cologne filled her nose, and she got even more irritated. “Get away from me!” She pushed him by the shoulders, and Roberto scoffed. He lifted his head and looked at her. She had a frown on her face. “You don’t have to act bi*chy all the time. I saved your life, for the second time.” “I never asked for your help! You willingly did all you did!” Martina shut her eyes again as she felt more excruciating pains in her head. Bruno watched them from the interior mirror in surprise. They appeared like couples to him. “I promise you that next time, I’d watch you get yourself killed!” Roberto spat in anger. “That is exactly what I want, don’t you ever come near me asshole! I hate you with all my guts, and if I see the sight chance to kill you, I’d grab it without hesitation.” Martina’s voice wasn’t as loud as it was before. Her headache didn’t make things easy for her. “Kill me? I’m sorry to tell you baby girl, but you can never kill me. You are stuck with me… Forever.” “Monster.” Martina cursed under her breath and looked out of the window again.
