“To what do I owe this unpleasant visit, Mr. Galante?” Enzo kept a grin on his face. Two ladies that were dressed in panties and bras, sat next to him on his large sofa. They lifted his cup of wine for him and caressed his bare hairy chest. He still had his sunglasses on, and his tobacco in his mouth. “You should be able to guess why I am here Mr. Carrao.” “How can I guess why you are in my territory? It is been years since I met a Galante.” Roberto looked at Vincenzo and threw his head forward. Vincenzo walked to the large center table which was made of glass in front of them, and he dropped the file he held in his hand. Enzo looked at Roberto and waited for an explanation. “Exactly ten years and four months ago, you were supposed to sell two tons of cocaine for my father Giovanni. Scrolling through my documents, I found this file. It was a contract signed by both of you.” The grin on Enzo’s face faded away immediately after he heard Roberto’s statement. He remembered all he said. “And why are you here? I made the contract with your father, not you.” Roberto scoffed and lowered his head. He picked a stick of Tobacco from his breast pocket and stretched his hand to one of his men behind him, and he gave him a lighter. “That is where you all are mistaken. This contract wasn’t in the name of my father. It was in my name, and I signed the contract, not my father.” “What?!” Enzo grabbed the files on the table immediately and scanned through them quickly. “My father was a wise man, Mr. Enzo. He knew the kind of game he played, and he played it well. He knew people would always betray him, and that is why he acted wisely before they ruin him.” “This is not possible!” Enzo threw the file to the ground and sprang to his feet. “You can read it yourself, Mr. Enzo. Papers don’t lie. Now, you know why I am here. I would be so grateful if you could make things easy. You go in there and bring out the remaining 50% of my money.” Roberto ordered as he stood up. “And where do you expect me to see that kind of money now?” Roberto chuckled and took three steps closer to him. Enzo’s men lifted their guns and pointed them at Roberto, and Roberto’s men did the same to Enzo and his men. “Lorenzo Ferrari said the same thing a week ago, and after some little persuasion, he handed over the complete money. You don’t have to lie to me about not having the money. This was what killed Lorenzo.” “Lorenzo is dead?” Enzo asked in shock. “I killed him. Mr. Enzo, I have known you for eight years, and I know the lie you told my father. You were paid in full but, you didn’t deliver his quota.” Roberto threw his tobacco on the ashtray that was on the center table, and he buried his hands in his pockets. “I am here to collect that quota.” Roberto’s voice turned to a deadly one, and he had a dark look on his face. Enzo burst into a sarcastic laugh and removed his sunshades. His wrinkled eyes penetrated Roberto’s eyes. “Are you threatening to kill me, just like you killed Lorenzo?” His laughter faded away, and anger took charge. Roberto divulged a smirk and shook his head. “This is no threat, Mr. Enzo. I came to you as a man and talked to you as a responsible man. I just need my money and I’ll be out of your territory. No noise or killings.” “And if I don’t give you your money?” Roberto lowered his head as he chuckled, and his shoulders moved as he did. He switched up immediately and looked at Enzo with a threatening look. “You know how it’s done, Enzo. We do it the hard way.” “I love your boldness. Your father never had the guts to threaten me!” “That was my father. This is me… Roberto Galante is crazier and deadlier than his father. Mr. Enzo, I respect you a lot and that is why we are still talking. I am tired of talking, and I want my money... Now!” Roberto’s boldness was a shock to Enzo. Enzo had always heard about how fierce and determined he was, but he never thought anything would bring him to his house. “I am sorry. But, the contract died along with your father. I have no money to pay you.” Roberto let out another smirk and moved closer. “I knew you wouldn’t budge. And I wouldn’t stress myself trying to make you listen to me. But it’s so unfortunate that your wife would have to suffer for your stubbornness.” Another man from Roberto walked up to him and passed him the phone. Roberto lifted the phone and showed it to Enzo. “Your wife went to Italy three days ago. She went to buy some clothes and shoes, and she is in my custody right now. If anything happens to me, or my men, or my money! Just one order from me and she is dead.” Enzo heard the frightened voice of his loving wife, and his anger grew in multiple folds. “Lower your guns right now!” He yelled at his men, and they all lowered their guns. “Nothing must happen to my wife,” he said with gritted teeth. “If you do what I want, nothing would happen to her.” Enzo nodded and gulped hard. He looked at one of his men and gave him a bow. His man walked out of the living room and returned with a medium-sized leather bag. “Open it,” Roberto ordered him, and he unzipped the bag. He showed it to Roberto, and when he saw it was money, he nodded. Vincenzo collected the bag and got to work. He began to count. *** Martina opened the door carefully. She snuck out of the car from the other side and looked around her. She searched for Bruno but, she couldn’t find him. “He must have entered the house.” She thought to herself. She peeped at the house from where she hid and saw the men holding guns. They had stern looks on their faces and their guns were pointed forward. Martina knew there was no way she was going to walk past them without being seen and killed. “I should just ask them for a phone politely.” She stood upright and brushed her hair with her palm. She touched her thumb with her tongue and drew it over her brows. She licked her dry lips and took a look at herself in the car glass. She walked out of hiding confidently, and when the men saw her, they pointed their guns at her. “Hey…” She raised her hands and slowed down. “I am not here to cause trouble. I just want to borrow a cellphone.” “Don’t come closer, or I will blow your f**king head off!” Martina closed her eyes and shivered in fear after hearing one of the men yell. She stopped walking and kept her hands in the air. “Please. I just want need to make a phone call. I need to save myself from Roberto Galante! Please understand!” “We don't care. Go back to where you are coming from, or I will shoot those straight legs of yours.” Martina creased her brows and looked at her legs. She saw they were straight by the way she stood, and she smiled widely. “How did I not notice this until now?” She muttered. Suddenly, she heard the main door open, and she saw Roberto walk out majestically. Vincenzo walked behind him with a bag in his hand. Roberto arched his brows after seeing her. “What the f**k is she doing?” He thought, as he walked down the front stairs. “Martina… What are you doing?” Vincenzo asked in a loud whisper when they got closer to her. “Fire!! Kill all of them!” Enzo yelled all of a sudden and the sound of gunshots, and the crack of bullets covered the compound. Martina bent down in terror and was glued at that point. She didn’t know what to do. She lowered her head and held her ears very tight. Roberto’s men covered Roberto and Vincenzo immediately. They retreated slowly to the car but kept shooting. “Martina, get up!” Roberto yelled after he saw she didn’t make a move to run. She was traumatized. More of Roberto’s men rushed in, and his snipers got to work. Bullets kept flying, and men kept falling. Both Enzo’s and Roberto’s men. Roberto kept moving back as he looked at Martina. He looked up, and he saw one of the men target Martina. His eyes widened, and he pulled out his gun from the back of his pants and began to shoot at him. The man hid behind the pillar so Roberto’s firing didn’t do much. “Mr. Roberto!” Vincenzo called when he saw him walking forward again. Roberto got to Martina and tried lifting her. His men covered for him immediately. “Stand to your feet, woman!” He lowered himself next to her. He looked at the man that targeted Martina, and he saw him pull the trigger. His eyes broadened and he pushed her out of the way. Martina fell to the ground, and the bullet hit Roberto in the hand. “The boss has been shot!” Vincenzo yelled in terror.
