"How about you? Can you travel back in time?" I asked the devil I was curious. Going back in time could change and prevent a lot of bad things from happening.
"Ofcourse not. Only key holders like Kai can do that. But time travel is forbidden. It has dire consequence." the devil informed us.
"Like what?" Akana asked.
"Death."
"So you mean his mentor could be dead by now?"
"Or without power. Time travel stripped them of their power and life force. Its like playing russian roulette but the thing is the gun is fully loaded." the devil explained.
"He must really be that desperate to use that technique."

"Or a total fool. But he's still alive. And Kai is looking for him."
"So Miftah is the one who brought me here. But why?"
"To hide you of course since the council wants you dead."
"Is that some form of government body? You say there are powerful beings that imprisoned my father. Is that the council? Why are they so threatened by my existence then?"
"You maybe human and you seem weak in this world but in our world you're almost invincible. They are afraid of what you can do."
"Which means i can't be beaten. What exactly can i do though? Am i capable of world destruction? You know the apocalypse?"
"Maybe. You haven't really tried to destroy the world."
"Well i dont have reason to do that. I never had the urge to destroy anything before."
"Good for you then. We dont want to turn against you." the angel butt in.
"What does that even mean? " but they didnt answer. They just continue to walk around searching for clues.
I was about to look for clues as well when Akana pulled me away from the group.
"Hey stop dragging me." I complain.
She looks at me with inquisitive eyes. If I didn't know that this princess can be deadly I would be romantically attracted to her. But who am I kidding? I have no chance in hell with her.
I'm just a poor boy from a poor family whose real dad eats his own children. I don't even know why i agree to come along just to see my dad. I mean his greeting could be "oh hello son you're just in time, i'm hungry and you're dinner."
"So you actually went with them knowing nothing? Right?" Akana asked
"We're on the same boat, princess." I said.
"No we are not. I have my reasons and I did some research before coming here. You on the other hand are clueless. What if they are planning to offer you to some demon gods?"
"Yeah we could totally do that." The angel suddenly spoke. Even With his gigantic size we didnt even realize that he's already behind us. What a scary creature.
"Hey privacy please." She snapped.
"I can hear you from miles away. I have bionic ears." he claimed
But speaking of size and bionic ears... "there's definitely something wrong with this place." I said
"Great observation Sherlock." Akana said sarcastically.
"No, what I mean is why aren't they looking at us oddly. Lucian here is eight feet tall with blonde hair and no one seems to notice. Not even the priest earlier. He did see him right?"
"Now that you mention that. Our ghost here isnt invisible at all. And she looks very dead. That should at least scare them." Akana said.
"Thats because this is just a memory." Kai informed us.
"What do you mean?"
"This is how Miftah remembers this place. This is what he saw and the people he encountered. You're seeing his memory. Theyre not real."
"So this is like a virtual world in an RPG game or a loop. I wonder how long he stayed here." I looked around and I'm not really familiar with the place.
"Long enough to hide the key and leave you to your adoptive parents." the devil said.
"So nothing we do here will affect the future. We can destroy this place and nothing bad will happen." Akana exclaimed.
"You sound excited about that." I said. This princess always chooses violence.
"Well ofcourse because we can do anything here. And we wont end up in the news the following day. This is a safe place. But what exactly are we looking for here then?"
"The key to our next destination is here."
"But this place is so big. Its a whole town. The key could be anywhere?" I said.
"Thats why we need to start looking for it now." the ghost is already bored. Lo
"Where do we start?" I asked
"We need to look for Miftah first and then we will just follow him and hope he leads us to the key."
"I dont even know what he looks like."
"Just find someone with a tattoed arm holding a baby." Akana suggests.
"What if we found Miftah first? How will i informed you about that?" I asked. I don't even have a phone. And I doubt if this place has a signal or a wifi connection.
"Just mention his name and we will come for you." the ghost said.
"You mean i'll just say the word? No other gadgets to use. Like wireless radio?"
"We will hear you." the angel assured us.
"So you all have bionic ears?"
"Of Course. Don't you?"
"I dont know i havent tried to use my ears other than you know listening to my classes which I will now inevitably fail."
"As if you care about school."
"Hey i was a deans lister before my..." I hesitated since princess Akana is listening.
"Before your what?" she asked curiously.
"His drug addiction." The ghost added.
"Well you're human after all." Akana said.
"I'm glad youre not judging me by my one mistake."
"Its none of my business. So lets go? We need to find Miftah." I was the only one who followed Akana. The rest went on different directions.
"Lets go to the plaza." I said.
"Why there?"
"Theres a fiesta going on according to the priest. A lot of people will be there. He could have gone there."
"Okay lets start at the plaza then." She agreed.
I was right about the plaza being full of people. There's a local pageant going on and the candidates are all on stage. Since the people's attention isn't on us and they are just mere memories we don't have to worry about looking suspicious or standing out like a sore thumb.
"I dont think he's here. We've look everywhere. Maybe we should go somewhere else. Hes carrying a baby he could have gone to a place where its quiet." akana suggested.
As we are about to leave i saw two familiar faces.
"Its them." i blurted out.
"Who are you talking about?" Akana turned to the direction i was looking at.
"They're my parents."
"Are you sure its them?"
"They look younger but im sure its them."
"I think they're on a date. Are they already married when they adopted you?"
"I think so. Im an only child."
Akana look at the cute couple. My father is holding my mothers hand. He also bought her food and drinks.
"Your father is such a gentleman."
"He's always been very supportive of my mother. Hes always been very reliable as a husband and as a father."
Akana look at my parents and then look at me.
"How come you never had any inkling that youre adopted? Its so obvious."
"Are you trying to insult me again?"
"Ofcourse not. Just saying physically you are nothing alike with your parents."
" Well my parents are both physically strong and You keep saying im weak."
"I said you look weak not really weak."
"Whats the difference?"
"Well i tried to shoot you remember?"
"Wait I thought you were targetting Kai. So i'm the monster in your eyes?"
"Its Kai but the desciption also fits you. You're the most normal looking among them and they tied you up with a rope. How do you think ill react?"
"That they kidnapped me and im a victim of a crime? How else will you read the situation?" I asked.
"That you're a dangerous man. And i was right."
"You're really weird."
"Are you trying to insult me?" She smiled.
"Its a compliment." I smiled back.
"I thought so. You got good taste."
I was about to say something when i saw a man carrying a baby approaches my parents.
