Miss Lucy rode in a taxi towards a building which was more like an office where the supposed caller was. She had everything planned for when she came to Mexico, but now something was wrong. She bashed into the office, not considering the restriction given to her by the receptionist. Miss Lucy paced straight to the manager's office. The manager was hosting a meeting with boards of directors when miss Lucy interrupted.
“May I have a word with you…” She snapped, and the manager glared at her. He apologized for the inconvenience while excusing himself to speak with miss Lucy outside.
“What do you mean that the goods were confiscated?” She retorts, and the manger rubbed his ears, haven't he explained to her that the goods she had demanded for got missing even before it could be transported.
“Did you plan all these?” She beckoned as the manager scoffed.
“Why do you keep blaming everyone for your mistakes?..” He paused, glancing at her.
“Why don't you contact your companies around, maybe you would get some information that you need” he advised and walked back inside? He was right, but she doesn't know the state of those companies yet. Miss Lucy just hoped she wasn't starting afresh with the turn of events. She returned to the new place she could hardly call a home which wasn't much of her taste, when she got in, she realized that Julie was already asleep. Miss Lucy entered the next room next to Julie's and jumped on the bed, annoyed. She kept asking herself why wasn't Frederico picking his calls? She had sent him to Los Angeles as an agent and, speaking of the devil, he had arrived at the gates worried. Miss Lucy rushed to get him inside. She didn't wait for him to have a seat when she asked;
“What's the situation?”. Frederico swallowed hard as he shivered holding different photos in his hands and miss Lucy gazed with probing eyes.
“Welcome sir to Mexico!” A young man addressed Brian, who was coming out of the airport. He didn't respond to his nice gestures and the young man directed him to a () which was parked close to him. Two other men dressed in Blacks stood beside the car and also welcomed him when he got closer to them.
“What's the destination?” He asked and one of them replied,
“Diango”. Brian smirked and checked his wristwatch.
“Is everything prepared?” He continued and the second nodded qwarking at the location which appeared on the dashboard. The driver drove him to a large mansion and came to a halt when it got through the gates. Three maids who stood at the entrance of the gates welcomed him as well. Brian gazed around and smiled.
“It's been a while lifestyle” he muttered walking into the house. He was going to be alone in this place except with the servants, which he intended to dismiss because he hated their formalities according to his thoughts. He climbed to the balcony and studied the environment which was a quiet place, but the silence of where he stood was literally broken when Oliver called him.
“Hello Brian! Why do you keep ignoring me?" Oliver muffled with annoyance. Brian laughed a little and said
“Why are you worrying over me?
“It's not me but your brother…he keeps pestering me to make sure you're safe” Oliver fumed.
“Why is he acting like though he's concern” Brian murmured silently.
“Did you say anything”
“No…just be on track, I got some partners for you” Brian stated with a proud look. He could hear Oliver's groaning through the phone.
“Stop acting lazy and work, okay!” Brian advised and switched off the phone.
“Such a rude attitude… I was the one who called, and he switched it off on me” Oliver mused.
“I was expecting that reply, but why did he choose to go back?” The mayor asked, spinning his office chair slowly.
“Perhaps, he missed home?” Oliver responded to avoid suspicion by the mayor.
“From my informant, he was seen with Pedro some days ago…the drug Lord”. Oliver murmured and stared at the mayor, what was he insinuating that Brian is into drugs?
“But he's a detective” Oliver said without hesitance.
“I know… that's why I let go of the thoughts I had” the mayor replied smirking at Oliver.
“I want to assign someone to keep an eye on him, he seems cunning” the mayor requested and Oliver nodded while leaving the office. The mayor glanced at a document which sat on his desk and chuckled wickedly.
Julie was now up well, probably Because she could perceive the smell of pizza that was placed beside her. When she rose from the bed, she picked it up and paced towards the door, which was already opened. She came out of the room and wandered around. Where could miss Lucy be because she couldn't see a trace of her? She ran around the house and found miss Lucy sitting close to the swimming pool, it was already late at night and her mother was meant to be inside, not outside in the cold.
“Mom?” She called,, but she didn't respond, miss Lucy must be lost in thoughts.
“Mom, are you alright?” She pressed on, coming closer.
“Go inside Julie… I want to be alone!” She ordered. Julie refused her order and dropped the pizza close to miss Lucy's feet.
“Even if I can't solve your problems, we're in this together” Julie replied and miss Lucy sniffed. Julie wasn't scared of miss Lucy any longer, ever since she risked it to save her. Julie had seen miss Lucy as her hero and was willing to be by her side no matter the situation.
“Let's eat…” She pressed on, attempting to peek at miss Lucy's face which was pale from tears. Julie couldn't ask what was wrong because miss Lucy wouldn't reply but just tell her all was fine when nothing was afterall, she was not of age to understand.
