The dream company was built in the interim of Django and most people had always wished to work in this multi-international company and miss Lucy must be looking working as its secretary, the company was more like a mall that deals in clothing, shoes bags and cosmetics. It made uses people to model their products since it was more like a fashion home. Miss Lucy stepped into the office. Everyone who saw her were amazed by her appearance, most of the ladies around had it in mind that she was going to boast the company.
“I guess she's the one we're waiting for” a woman who sat at the counter whispered.
“Yeah, she looks like a lady who is a popular actress in Los Angeles” the second affirmed, and they smiled at themselves.
“Is she here to sign a contract as a model? Or please yes”. Miss Lucy sat at the reception waiting until she was called upon; however, some workers were already wanting to make friends with her. She was holding a paper which was the answers she was going to say to the boss. It was akward because Julie was the one who wrote it for her. Julie knew how rude her mother was and told her that she might lose the job if she doesn't carry along the paper which she had composed polite words. One would wonder when miss Lucy had started to take advice from anyone,, especially Julie. She had refused, but Julie pressured her to take, which she did. She squeezed the paper and was about to throw it in the trash can close to her, but the paper hit someone else who was standing close to the can. It was the manager who was coming to meet her and had wanted to throw waste when he got hit by a paper. He sighed and picked it up to dispose. The manager glared at miss Lucy, who acted like though nothing had happened because she pretended to be busy on her phone. No one was going to force the word “sorry from her lips”. The manager compelled his anger and faked a smile.
“Hello Miss Lucy, right?”
“Yeah and you shouldn't forget that name because it would be a hit” she responded gazing at the people who admire her, and she wore pride in her looks.
“That's good to know…your confidence might earn you the job” the manager teased, swallowing hard. How did the boss ever know this lady? From the looks of it, he the manager already disapprove of her, but the boss approves of her and instructed him to give her the job no matter what.
“So, where's the boss?” Miss Lucy questioned immediately she got into the manager's office.
“Well on an official leave but would come visiting today” the manager responded bringing out a book to document her records. He wasn't even going to interview her because he preferred not to hear any of her boastful words and besides, she might not even pass it.
“So let's begin the interview” miss Lucy requested and the manager scoffed. She was acting as if she was the manager here now, when she was just the secretary.
“You're already qualified congratulations” he snapped with no emotions.
“That's good to know… I always believed that I was fit for the job even without an interview because I'm me, and you wouldn't get another me” she praised and laughed, but the manager didn't, he wasn't finding that funny either. He stamped her file and requested for her credentials which was in the system.
“Would you mind if I ask you some questions yet if not mind I will still ask you” she snapped? The manager was avoiding any discussions that she would propel,, but it seems such can't happen when miss Lucy was around.
“Yes?” He replied in between his teeth.
“Who am I secretary to because it can't probably be you? Can it”
“Never!? He thought and glared at her, she was strolling her eyes around his office.
“The boss” he declined standing up.
“Let me show you to your office” he furthered, and she followed suit, causing nuisance with her praises in his ears. Her office was opposite that of her boss, and they could see each other since the door and front walls were transparent.
“Hope he doesn't fall for me with constant starring” she murmured glancing round her new place.
“How about the boss? I hope he is cool to roll with” she questioned.
“No one has seen the new boss since his father died, but we all believe he would appear today” he responded, and she smirked at him. Why did he say the boss was on an official leave instead of saying he hasn't seen him yet?
“Anyway, I like it, when am I to begin?” She beckoned, starring at the boss office which was large enough to fit for sitting room. Miss Lucy was missing her office too, back then at home and ordering of people too.
“Tomorrow at most”
“So soon? Why not next week besides I haven't settled in”
“Miss this is work and not your personal business” the manager reprimanded closing his eyes?
“Don't be rude, it's just a question” she snapped and walk out on him. Seriously, who was rude? He felt like knocking her head to have some respect for him since he was the manager. He just had a bad feeling about this woman, she might even rule this company and not the boss himself because of her act. Miss Lucy had wished to see this boss, so she could know if she could work with him and If he was not her taste, then she would resign. According to her believe, a job would come find her even without stress because she was miss Lucy. Miss Lucy texted Julie who was locked up at home with a cell phone that she got the job.
“Congrats” Julie texted back with a smiling emoji, but Julie guessed that no interview was conducted because if it was, then she was disqualified with just her words alone.
