“Princess, we are waiting!” The girl yelled at Julie, who was still contemplating if to back down.
“Just for the fun” she chanted and climbed down through the rope.
“So funny, are you scared of height?” Charles mocked and Julie scowled at him.
“My phone” she beckoned at them, and they laughed hard at her.
“If only you catch us!” The girl barked, running towards the gate, and Julie followed suit.
Brian search through the details of miss Lucy, her write-up wasn't specific of the career he needed, how was he going to get the truth from her when she was so tough to deal with. He kept thinking of another plan to end this sheraid and get the justice he deserved.
“Alisha?” He thought. She was his step-sister and once worked with miss Lucy. Alisha claimed to be present at the scene of the murder of Clara but not that of keva. He glanced at the paperwork miss Lucy had prepared for him, and he scoffed.
“Just brilliant as her crimes” he muttered, staring at the door. Miss Lucy sat quietly doing nothing, yet her mouth never seized from its duty of boasting to any worker who stopped by.
“Point one…tame that pride” he drafted in a mini jotter.
“Point two…friends?…never” he stressed, cancelling that point. He glanced at her again, but this time, she wasn't there. Brian stood up from his seat and walked to her desk, he needed to keep an eye on her. Where could she have possibly been?
“Don't miss me too much, I'm over here” she called behind him.
“I wasn't missing you, I just needed you to get me coffee” he lied, strolling his eyes around. Miss Lucy blinked twice at him. Does he know who he was sending? A one-time superstar.
“And made by you” he added. She rubbed her eyes and gazed at him.
“I don't make such”
“Good then… I'd minus from your salary”
“Then I would quit from the job!” She threatened and he faked a smile.
“Have you worked under anyone before?” He suddenly asked, but she didn't reply
“If you want to act all wild not here because I got my rules!” He sneered, gesturing to her to leave. She stood for a little while and then left to prepare the coffee in anger.
“You would be so dead when I get my fame back!” She muttered, returning with the coffee. Miss Lucy gently placed it on his desk since he wasn't inside or perhaps somewhere inside that wasn't disclosed. She peeped to and fro, Haven observed that no one was coming, she drew open his drawer and began to search for a document, but he caught her scattering his papers.
“What are you doing?”. His voice echoed in her ears, which frightened her.
“I was just…well, coffee” she replied perplexed and pacing towards his door.
“Well hope you would like it” she said, not knowing why she said that. Brian hummed, picking up the coffee and then at her. She was still standing by his door, staring at the coffee and Brian's lips, which felt suspicious to him.
“Miss secretary, why don't you have a taste of your product first?” He petitioned, stretching the coffee to her.
“I don't take coffee” she snapped, staring at the coffee, and he poured it intentionally on the floor.
“Argh” she groaned with pain. Why would he waste the coffee she suffered to make just to win a promotion? It was really hurting her, she never had time to prepare a meal talk more of beverages for anyone, he should count himself lucky. She was only staring at him if he was going to like it, and now it got spilled.
“The rag?” He stated, raising an eyebrow at her, and she groaned loudly. In a few seconds, she appeared with a rag to clean up the mess, while he stood behind her. Miss Lucy stood up from her squatting position and glare at her boss, she was so close to him that she feel his breath over her. Brian moved backward away from her to avoid eye contact besides, she wasn't saying anything but just glaring at him, if she had the chance, she would have devoured him like a prey.
“You may leave” he ordered showing her the way to the door with his hand, his words jerked her back to reality, now, she was under someone but an annoying boss who keeps ordering her over petty things. Today felt so humiliating to her, and she was hating what this boss was making her do. Miss Lucy couldn't bear another moment, she was just staying behind because of Julie, who likes the name of the company. This moment reminded her of the year she newly began her career as an actress, which was a horrible experience. Miss Lucy left work late for the day after she was done with her duty and she was heading home. Nowadays, it was rare to get a cab during the weather. Brian stepped out also, he had some other work to look out for. He happens to find miss Lucy outside waiting for a cab, she wasn't looking jovial as she was earlier but just sad. He had the intention of passing her by but decide to help her. Miss Lucy hesitated at first when he offered her a ride, and he didn't care to ask her twice, he was about to drive off when she stopped him and decided to follow him. She was quiet and looking sad as he drove, in a short while, her stomach broke the silence, it was grumbling for food. Brian tends to have noticed that, and he stopped at a restaurant to get her something to eat while she sat back. When he was done buying what he thinks she eats, he returned to his car,
“Here you go” he said handing over some chilaquiles to her. She collected it from him, but he collected it back from her. Miss Lucy sighed and bite her lips.
"Thanks!" She snapped and dragged it from his hand.
“I'm not accepting that though, but I guess it's something you hardly say” he opined, and she scoffed.
“Keep your opinion to yourself, it's embarrassing…” She replied.
