Brian raised an eyebrow at her expecting an answer, but she was just mute pondering if she was right or wrong
"try to be more early" he cautioned, and she nodded. Miss Lucy watched him as he read everyone's opinion except hers.
“Miss Lucy?”
“Oh, thank God he knows my name today” she mused while he smirked at her as he scoffed grimaced at her. He often thought miss Lucy was a lunatic, always acting like though she was the best in the world.
“Are you busy? I would like you to come along with me somewhere” he requested, and she stood up, brought out a mirror and blushed at herself.
“Don't you think it's too early for an approach” she mocked with a prideful smile. Brian banged his hand on the table, which made her shuddered. Really, how did she become so popular when she keeps annoying people every second.
“Sorry, just joking…but can I place a condition?” She beckoned and he closed his eyes.
Miss Lucy glanced over and over at the form handed to her. Brian had taken her to one of the best modeling companies perhaps most workers suggested she would be the face of their company. She turned her gaze at Brian who sat beside her waiting for her hand over the paper.
“Why are you staring at me, sign” he reminded, and she signed on the paper. A plump woman stepped out of the studio with her camera and greeted Brian. She glanced at miss Lucy and smiled at her.
“You look familiar with an actress that passed away” the camera lady commented.
“People look similar nowadays…but she's not the one” Brian replied and miss Lucy nodded silently. Everyone thinks she's dead back home, but she was very much alive. Staying here had almost made her forget that she had challenges which she had to solve quickly and leave back home. While she was here, no one was willing to help her, not even her directors because she was believed to be dead. Miss Lucy suddenly turned sober and lost interest in modeling because she needed to figure out the truth about who was after and that meant she was returning home, this lady's question had just reminded her who she is, “the star that never fades”.
“Come along with me” the woman called and Brian stood up waiting for miss Lucy to stand up.
“ Sorry but I'm not interested” she apologized, running out of the building. She paced quickly towards a crosswalk that wasn't far from this modeling company and when she was about to board a cab, Brian appeared before her.
“Why did you walk out?” He questioned calmly.
“That's because I got things to do” she replied in a hast.
“Don't go… I'm ordering you…we just need your face” he said, and she scoffed.
“I will send my resignation letter tomorrow at noon…just let me go” she requested attempting to walk pass him, rather she bumped into him which almost made her fall, but he held her by the waist not to fall, and she quivered which was strange to her. Brian raised her up and let go of her waist yet, she was still staring at him because he was close to her that his breath swept off her face. Another plan rang a notification in her head just by staring at him.
“What's wrong?” He asked and she cursed.
“Hey,, do you have emotions? I'm trying to seduce you, and you're ruining the mood” she snapped, annoyed and walking back to the building.
“Shameless, always exposing her intentions!” He complained.
“Did you change your mind?” He asked,, but she didn't reply, and he ran after her.
“Give your best looks! Camera rolling!good” Jackie voice echoed as flashlights streamed on miss Lucy. There were make-up artists and also dressers who attended to her when the need arises. She winked at Brian, who glared at her, she was fond of flirting with men just for her fun.
“Alright, done!”.
“Finally” Brian sighed and miss Lucy smiled happily, now she was going home.
“You're good in postures” he complimented knowing what her reply would be
“Yes I'm good at everything because I'm me!” She snapped and immediately her stomach grumbled. Brian scoffed and smirked at her.
“Can't that tummy of yours control it's self, you're around me?”
“You're my boss, so you treat your secretary nice…you would soon miss me” she rapped, handing him over the paper which she had signed.
“What made you change your mind? I thought you were all high and might?”
“It's personal, stop pocknosing boss” she soled and walked pass him and then walked backwards towards him because he was standing and reading the paper.
“Treat a woman nice, would you?” She rants, collecting the paper and running towards the car.
“Rude and childish” he commented, walking up to her.
“I will order what I want, okay?” She beckoned and he was speechless. Brian followed miss Lucy as she does the shopping, it was like she was going to shop the whole supermarket. He wondered if this was how she orders her directors, they must have retained her because they were deriving something profitable from her.
“Julie would love this” she thought carrying another trolley which made it three because the rest two was filled up.
“Hey!” She waved at Brian, who was standing at a distance away from her. She gestured to him to come closer, but he just stood there.
“Pleaseeee” she stressed. It felt those words were foreign in her mouth and this annoying boss of her was making her do that, soon he would be regretting when he finds out that she's a celebrity. Brian held the two trolley behind her while she kept shopping happily. Weren't they meant to be in a restaurant to feed her hungry belly? Rather, she was shopping.
“Now it's time for dresses” she exclaimed and Brian scoffed.
“What do you take me for!” he replied almost yelling at her and she rubbed her head.
