I placed the two plates of spaghetti in my hand on the dining table and covered them, so I could go and call Drystan down.
It's been three days since he was discharged, and we both were laid off from our work as trainers for the time being till Drystan fully recovers. We both made a fuss about it at first, but we had no choice but to obey it since it was the Alpha's order.
The past days have been peaceful despite the annoying and nagging thought at the back of my mind that something would soon go wrong and the fact that I was taking care of Drystan who acts like a five year old most times.
He would nitpick at everything and annoy me any single chance he gets, and anytime I try to retaliate he plays the "I'm still a patient, you should treat me with care" card. I rolled my eyes as I thought of his antics the past few days.
"Mr. Recovering, dinner is ready!" I informed him as I knocked on his door, I covered my mouth as I snickered at the nickname I used.
"Why didn't we ever call him that all these while he's been annoying us?" Eliana asked in an amused tone and I shrugged, I wonder why too.
I heard shuffling from his room and immediately stopped knocking and neutralized my face, he opened the door with a scowl on his face "my name's Drystan!" He said in utter annoyance, but I paid no mind to his words because my eyes were zeroed on his exposed chest.
My eyes slowly trailed down his body, taking in all the curves, the abs and damn his V-line "put him in my mouth or my other mouth please" Eliana gushed out and started wiggling her ass in my head. Any other time I would have reacted to her shamelessness, but this time around I couldn't, because I was also ogling him shamelessly.
"You've got droll on your face," Drystan said all of a sudden. I immediately looked up at him and he was looking at me with amusement, my hands immediately flew to my mouth only to meet it completely dry. That was when I realized he was just teasing me, a scowl immediately appeared on my face while he burst into laughter.
I watched him double over in laughter for a whole minute before he slowly stopped and a smirk made its way to his face "Ahhh!! That felt good. Next time you want to stare, do it discretely with respect or just take a picture, you know that lasts long" he said and walked away.
I turned to his retreating figure and glared at him "there won't be a next time!" I reported weakly and he snorted.
"Yeah right!" He said with confidence, adding to my irritation.
"He's not wrong tho" Eliana piped in shamelessly and I rolled my eyes at her. I took a few moments to get myself together to meet that pest again, and when I was about to head down to the dining room, I saw something or rather someone move from my peripheral vision.
I paused for a second before I quickly whipped my head around and my eyes widened slightly when I saw the person standing there. I slowly turned around to properly face her before calling out the name that was dancing at the tip of my tongue "Elphaba?" I called out shakily, and she respond with her usual smile.
"Hello child" she responded and walked closer to me with the oddly familiar smile on her face "I see you've been doing well" she stated when she was about 3 feet away from me.
I cleared my throat to reduce the tightness of my voice before I began speaking to her "what are you... No, how did you get here?" I asked, staring at her warily.
She raised her eyebrows and chuckled at my question "seems you still don't know better, child" she stated with a tsk and I had to hold back a groan at her words. Will, she ever learn to speak in a normal sense people will understand?
"I don't think so" Eliana answered my unasked question and a smile tugged on my lips at her saas.
"Hey, Eliana!" Elphaba greeted all of a sudden, making Eliana and I stiffen. My eyes widened and I stared at her as if I'd just seen a ghost while she stared at me with amusement dancing in her eyes.
"You can read minds?" I blurted out, but I was immensely scared to hear her response.
"Of course not child, I can just sense the presence of wolves even if they try to hide it" she explained and I let out a breath of relief "what? Have you been cursing me out in your mind?" She asked and I vehemently shook my head, she smiled at my antics and bobbed her head.
"I came here to see how you are doing and you're doing well," she said.
"Who are you? What did you mean by all that? And please be kind enough to explain all of that to me" I asked all in one breath, and as always she just smiled at me.
"Your husband is looking for you, I'll have to go now. And so do not worry about a thing, it will all make perfect sense with time. You just have to look inside you and find out who you truly are" she said and before I could utter another word, she disappeared into thin air.
That was when I noticed that Eliana was still oddly quiet and stiff, ever since Elphaba called out her name, I quirked up an eyebrow at her energy "you good?" I asked when she still wasn't relaxing even tho Elphaba already left, but to my greatest surprise, Eliana pulled up a wall between the both of us and reclined into the furthest part of my mind.
Her actions surprised me, because she has never done that before and it just made the whole situation more confusing and scarier, "does she know something I don't?" I mumbled to myself, trying to go over the possibilities of why Eliana was acting up.
But I didn't get to think much of it, because in the next moment I felt a pinch on my arms making me yelp in pain. I already guessed who the culprit was and just turned to glare at him, but he had an equally devilish glare on his face "what have you been doing? The food is almost cold" he said in an annoyed tone and I just frowned at his words.
"Since when did you start worrying about my food getting cold?" I asked, crossing my arms over my chest "wait wait..." I started when the realization entered my mind "were you waiting for me to come down so we could eat, together?" His face immediately softened and a hint of embarrassment covered his face at my question, and that gave me the answer I need making a huge grin appear on my face.
"I just didn't want to be rude by eating alone" he tried to defend himself but the grin on my face didn't waver because I already got the real answer to my question "and what were you doing up here? Sacred to come down and get lost in my sexiness?" He asked with a smirk and copied my stance.
The grin on my face immediately disappeared and was replaced with a scowl at his words, "you wish" I mumbled and walked away from him, but I made sure I nudged him with my elbows as I walked away.
I was still on the staircase when I heard him say "don't worry, it's all yours" and I nearly fell off the staircase. I heard laughter behind me and turned to meet him standing there, laughing at the fact that I nearly fell. I glared at him and stomped down the stairs.
I put the dishes back into the microwave to heat them up and then plopped down opposite the big childish wolf in front of me who was still wearing a smirk on his face "stop smirking! Wack head" I mumbled annoyingly but his smirk just widened.
"Are you jealous of my perfect smirk or do you just want to take its place?" He asked and I burst into laughter, and before I knew it he was chuckling beside me.
It was so crazy that we went from not being able to stand each other to being comfortable in each other's presence and teasing each other, "who would have I thought that we could comfortably stay in a room and just tease each other?" I asked and he sighed deeply
"I just had to find a way to survive being in this house with you till I fully recover," he said with an exasperated sigh and I just shook my head at him.
