I sat in front of my vanity, applying the finishing touches to my makeup for my meeting in less than an hour. Yup, today's the day I'm meeting Drystan and Derrick. I dropped my lipgloss back on the table and stared at myself in the mirror with satisfaction, "lovely" I muttered and nodded my head in satisfaction; I love how the makeup came out. Simple yet elegant.
I did my hair next before walking into my closet to put on my dress and heels.
When I was done dressing up, I stood in front of the mirror with a look of pride on my face. The dress I have on is a semiformal black gown; it hugs my body perfectly, and gave the aura and look I need for this; a confident and powerful aura.
Admiring my look one more time, I picked up my clutch and phone and walked out of the room.
"Is that my princess?" I heard my dad ask as I walked down the stairs, I looked up with a small on my face and saw him looking at me in astonishment as I walked down the stairs. He quickly walked up to me and offered his arm as I got to the last stair. "You look amazing princess" he complimented and my smile grew bigger, I leaned down and kissed his cheek.
"Thanks, Dad"
"You're sure you want to go through with this princess?" He asked for the billionth time and I sighed, I know he is simply worried about me but it makes me feel like he doesn't have confidence in me each time he asks that.
"Yes Dad, I'm sure. This is what I want to do, this is what I have to do." I stated firmly and he shook his head
"Don't ruin the date now Reid" my mum teased him as she walked out of the kitchen; heading towards me "you look stunning dear"
"Thanks, mum"
"I didn't do anything Elise, and it's not a date!" My dad retaliated and stormed off the room.
My mum scoffed and shook her head at her husband's childishness "sometimes I wonder if he's my husband or my son" she mumbled and we both burst into laughter at that.
"Okay mum, I have to get going now," I said after a few moments of laughter.
She nodded her head and gave me a brief forehead kiss "be safe darling, and your ride is ready outside"
"Sure, thank you" I smiled at my mum again and left the house, walking to the white limo that was parked out. On seeing me the driver opened up the door for me; earning a quick thanks from me and without wasting any time, he drove off.
I stared at myself through the mirror and took a deep breath, this is no ordinary meeting and honestly speaking I don't know how to react or what to expect.
"We've got this Selene" Eliana reassured me and I released a deep breath; nodding in agreement.
"We do" I affirmed and took a deep breath "thanks Eliana"
The ride continued for a while before the car slowly came to a halt." We're here Annha" the driver announced softly, stepping out of the car and standing by my door. I inhaled sharply through my nose and breathed out from my mouth before I tapped on the window gently, he immediately opened the door and I stepped out.
My eyes landed on the gold-colored building, with a big sign that has BEVERLY HILLS written boldly on it, it's a huge building, one of the most popular and expensive restaurants we have in this pack.
The driver stretched out his left arm and I took it, letting him lead me inside the restaurant, and to my greatest surprise; the restaurant was empty leaving only two men dressed in black tuxedos.
"Will you like me to wait in the car, Annha?" The driver asked politely and I shook my head.
"You can go home, I'll call for you when I'm done" he nodded his head and let go of my arm, running out of the restaurant.
I took a deep breath and walked over to the two men; immediately recognizing the dark-haired one with blue eyes "Alpha Derrick" I called out and he turned towards me with a small smile on his face, he immediately stood up; towering over me and stretched out his hand for a handshake.
I looked down at it for a few moments; making sure I made him uncomfortable before taking it in my hand and shaking him firmly "it's nice to meet you... again" he said and I smiled.
"I guess so," I said and looked over to the second man; that was still seated. His beauty is definitely out of this world and If I could choose I'll rather marry him than a scary-looking guy named Drystan.
Wait, where's Drystan? I looked up at Derrick; a smile still on my face "where's Drystan?" He looked at me weirdly and chuckled.
"This is Drystan," he said and pointed to the man beside him who's now standing, my eyes reverted to his face and I swear my mouth dropped open.
His appearance didn't fit his reputation. He looked so soft with his silver hair packed in a ponytail and a few strands covering his brown eyes, he stood about 6'6ft tall looking down at me, his jawline was sharp enough to cut my skin and I could swear it was the reason for the scar that ran from underneath his eyes to the side of his straight nose, and that just made me wonder why people describe him as scary. He looks anything except scary.
"He is Drystan?" I asked unbelievingly, staring between Derrick and the dude; who has his hand stretched out.
"Yes Annha, I'm Drystan," he said in a deep but smooth voice and I immediately took his hand in a firm handshake, shaking myself out of my trance.
"You can call me Selene," I said, letting go of his hand. He nodded and sat back down. Derrick immediately pulled out a chair for me and I muttered a quick thanks to him, he nodded and sat back down.
"So, what do you say? We eat before we get down to business or.." Derrick asked, as soon as we all were seated.
"Business first," I said and he nodded
"Congratulations on your upcoming wedding by the way," I said in a tight voice and he smiled at me.
"Thank you" he replied and we all immediately went silent. We all basked in the silence for a while, before I took the lead, tired of the overbearing silence.
"So I called for this meeting to state a few things," I said, staring at Derrick "Alpha Derrick, I find it very insulting that you called off our marriage through my parents even tho you could have told me to my face. And not just that, you went ahead to announce your marriage without a formal apology" I stated and I saw Derrick visibly gulp.
"I'll like to apologize Annha Selene, but I thought that offering a substitute was enough apology"
"That's not how things work Alpha Derrick and you know it, I'll like to receive an official apology the right way," I said and from the corner of my eyes, I saw Drystan roll his eyes.
"As you wish Annha," Derrick said and I smiled "but I believe that's not the only reason you called for this meeting"
"You're right. I asked for the meeting because I'll like to state that I accept your substitute proposal, and I also wanted to see the Were I'll be getting married to" A hand immediately slammed on the table as soon as I was done talking, and I turned to Drystan; the reason behind the slam.
"What?! I thought you said she won't go through with the proposal?" Drystan asked staring at Derrick accusingly before he turned towards me "I'm sorry Annha but I don't want to go through with this proposal" he said in a dead tone and I felt like my chest was pierced with a knife; that's 2 rejections from 1 pack now.
I swallowed down the pain and turned towards Derrick "are you trying to make fun of me?"
He immediately shook his head "not at all Annha, he doesn't mean any of what he has said. You have my word as his Alpha, the marriage will go through" he stated and Drystan was about to speak again.
"Not another word Beta Drystan" he ordered in his Alpha voice and Drystan immediately kept quiet
"I'm sorry for the disrespect Annha"
I looked at him for a while and then turned my gaze towards Drystan; his aggression and rejection have trigged me to mess with him and I'll do as I please "I'll believe you're truly sorry when you do as I say, and only then will I accept your apology"
Derrick smiled at me "what do you want?"
I kept my gaze on Drystan for a while before speaking up "I want the official apology within a week, a news of our previous arrangement should not be leaked to the press and finally, I want my official engagement to Beta Drystan in 3 weeks"
Drystan's eyes widened a bit at my demand before his face morphed into a deadly scowl, he was about to speak when Derrick held him back "As you wish" He said I relaxed on my seat and then smirked at Drystan before I turned back to Derrick.
"Since that's settled, let's eat then," I said, and picked up the menu.
Drystan immediately stood up from his chair "excuse me" he said with clenched teeth and glared at me before he left the restaurant
"You did that on purpose didn't you?" Derrick asked in an amused voice.
I chuckled and nodded my head "of course I did, he looks like someone that gets irritated easily and acts rashly. Those types of people are fun to mess with" I stated and Derrick nodded his head.
"You're correct. For someone that welds the amount of power he does, he acts like a child" he said and I let out a laugh.
