I slowly opened my eyes with a smile etched on my face, yesterday went so well and I'm pretty sure that the news is all over the internet now.
It puts my mind at ease knowing that my engagement Is all over the internet, without any news of my previous one flying around.
"It's morning and I already feel so good, do you think getting Drystan all riled up last night caused this?" Eliana said and I chuckled.
"I guess so," I said, remembering the events of last night as I got up to freshen up.
FLASHBACK
"Girl... Your description didn't do enough justice to how heavenly Drystan looks" Stacy said when I walked over to them after the engagement process
"I know right?" Lucy piped in "He looks so good, I just want to put him in my mouth" she and Stacy looked over at him, and squealed.
"Oh common, he doesn't look that good," Malcolm said with an eye roll "you girls find every guy attractive," he said, glaring at us.
Dave popped out of nowhere with a plate of cake in his hand "facts man, we look way better than the dude" he said, putting a piece of cake in his mouth.
The girls and I shared a look before we burst into laughter "keep lying to yourselves" I sassed and left with the girls, leaving the boys in shock. I and the girls walked to the food stand after we left the boys and dished out a small quantity of food for ourselves before we walked to a table where we sat to watch the dancing couples and eat our food peacefully.
I was halfway through with my food when Alpha Derrick's voice echoed through the hall, stopping the dance mid-way "I know we all are having a good time, right?" He asked, his voice louder than usual because of the microphone.
The crowd yelled "yeah" and he nodded in satisfaction before he started speaking again,
"But won't it be a beautiful sight for the engaged couples to give us a beautiful dance together?"
All eyes immediately turned towards me while yelling "yes" I started shaking my head at the crowd with a smile, I certainly don't want to dance with Drystan and I don't want to leave my food half-eaten, plus I'm sure the thick-headed wolf will not want to dance with me.
I was still shaking my head when Drystan walked up to me, with his right hand stretched out "Shall we?" He asked in his deep baritone, making the crowd sequel louder, I looked over at Stacy and Lucy for support but they were busy ogling at him, making me sigh in defeat
I turned back to him with a small smile "sure", I placed my hand on his and we both walked to the dance floor. The song changed into a slow and romantic one as soon as we got to the stage. " I'm quite surprised you agreed to dance with me," I whispered into his ear, as we danced around the dance floor.
He rolled his eyes at me before replying "believe me when I say I have better things to do than dance with you, but I owe it to my Alpha to not disrespect him" he said in a bored tone.
I smirked at him and pressed my body to his "are you sure? Or did you just want to be impossibly close to me?" I slurred my words as I spoke and he looked at me incredulously for a while, before he smirked and took my hand and spun me around so many times that I got dizzy but I couldn't break it off, to not embarrass myself.
"Do you still think I wanted to be impossibly close to you?" He asked smirking, as soon as he stopped spinning me around and we went back to dancing.
I placed my head on his chest and smiled, then looked up at him slightly cause I was still feeling dizzy "Of course, if not you wouldn't have made me spin so hard 'cause you know I'll end up resting on you" I said innocently while batting my eyelash at him. His face morphed into a scowl and he glared at me, but I kept smiling in satisfaction knowing that my words got a rise out of him.
We danced for a while longer before the song ended, he quickly let go of me and walked off the dance floor and that was the last time I saw him till the ceremony ended, and it was time to bid farewell.

I let out a little laugh at the memory, as I walked downstairs in my shorts and hoodie to go get breakfast. I entered the dining to see my mum and dad already seated there, talking to each other, but they stopped as soon as they saw me and smiled sweetly at me. "Good morning Dad," I said, kissing him on the cheek "Good morning Mum," I said and did the same to her before I pulled out a chair and sat down.
"Good morning princess, hope you slept well?" Dad asked, kissing my hand.
"I did, thank you and from the looks of it, you did too," I said with a smile, while he chuckled and nodded his head at me.
"Good morning sweetie, I was just about to call you down," Mum said to me, and on cue, the Omegas brought out breakfast; Pancakes and orange juice. Julia dismissed them and served us the food as always.
"Thanks, Julia," we all said at the same time, she bowed lightly before exiting the dining. Without wasting much time we started eating while making small talk with each other. Julia and three others cleared up the table as soon as we were done eating.
My parents and I decided to hang out in the dining for a while and just have a chitchat about the engagement, but my phone kept pinging non-stop, interrupting our conversation, "excuse me please," I said to my parents, and they nodded in approval and I picked up my phone.
I annoyedly opened the group chat where the notifications were coming from and read through the message only to find out they were all asking me to check the news headlines, I frowned at the urgency of their text and without asking them any questions, immediately did as they asked.
My eyes widened and dread washed over me when I saw the trending headline, I dropped my phone on the table and looked up at my parents; who were looking at me with furrowed eyebrows and questioning eyes.
"Princess, what happened?" My dad asked, while my mum grabbed my hands, "tell us already please" Dad persisted when I didn't talk.
"The news about my previous engagement with Alpha Derrick is the trending news headline," I said slowly and the room became very silent. Dad say still for a few seconds before he immediately stood up and left the room, while mum rubbed my hands gently,
"Don't make any rash decision or do anything, your dad and I will sort this out. Okay?" Mum said and I nodded stiffly.
She placed a kiss on my hand before leaving as well. I picked up my phone and read through the article and the person got every single piece of information correct, I scrolled to see the name of the writer but it was an anonymous person, I sighed in frustration and ran to my room throwing myself on the bed. "Who could have done this to me?" I muttered, asking no one in particular.
I thought everything is already over, why did this have to happen?
"We should not be thinking of who did this now Selene, we should be thinking of a way to clear this mess," Eliana said to me, and I agree with her.
I took a deep breath to calm myself down a bit and sat up, finding whoever did this should be a later problem. I should concentrate on finding a solution. I paced around my room for over 30 minutes, completely ignoring my phone that keeps getting a new notification every minute, as I tried to find a solution but nothing came to mind. Releasing a breath of frustration, I sat back down on my bed and picked up my phone when an idea came to my mind.
"Do you think that's a good idea?" Eliana asked when I told her about the idea.
"Well, do you have a better one?" I asked and when she didn't respond, I nodded stiffly "that's what I thought" I left my room and went in search of my parents to tell them about the idea, I found them both in Dad's study, my dad was pacing around and making phone calls while mum sat there writing something. I knocked lightly on the door, drawing their attention to me.
Dad quickly ended the call and walked to me "Princess don't worry, Dad has this under control" he said pulling me into a hug.
"Thanks, Dad, but I have an idea," I said taking a seat. He exchanged glances with mum before turning back to me.
"Let's hear it"
"Okay, I think it will be better if I give an official statement about this tomorrow, and a change of environment will also help the matter die down," I said, looking at both of them.
"What exactly do you mean Sweetie"
"I mean I should address the issue officially tomorrow, so the issue can die down quickly and then leave for Mooncrest Pack as well, to remove me from the spotlight now" I explained and my dad quickly shook his head.
"You will do no such thing, just relax we will find another way to solve this. You're not going to run away" Dad said but mum grabbed his hand and sadly shook her head.
"I agree with her Darling, there's no better solution than this," she said softly to him and I nodded. He looked between the both of us and slumped on his chair, a tired look in his eyes. Mum pulled me in closer and hugged me, continuously patting my hair, as silence loomed over us and our thoughts consumed us.
