Chapter 21
Friday Evening.
Mary and Malisa were both in Malisa's room.
While Malisa was resting on the headboard reading a novel titled, Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers.
Mary on the other hand was lying lazily on the bed talking nonstop.
" Oh my, Sis! I can't wait for tomorrow to arrive! "
" I can't wait to go shopping! "
" It's gonna be soooo fun! " She continued rambling.
" Oh, how sure are you that it's gonna be fun? Have you gone on one before? " Malisa questioned her.
" I haven't gone on one before but I just know that it's going to be fun!!! "
" Oh. "
" You Know, my brother is the owner of the shopping mall we are going to be shopping in so we don't have to worry about not being able to buy enough stuff. " Mary announced Happily.
" Okay. " Malisa Replied Simply, she wasn't that excited about going shopping as the only thing that excites her, for now, is reading.
" You are no fun, Sis. " Mary pouted.
" Well, I guess you are right on that though. " Malisa Replied.
" Why is it like that, Sis? " Mary inquired.
" Well, I am not used to going out shopping, so... "
" Oh. But that will change from now on. "
" It's quite obvious already. " She sighed.
" So, Sis how about you tell me what you always dream of becoming in the nearest future? "
" And why should I do that, eh? " Malisa smiled playfully.
" Perhaps I can help you fulfill your dreams, we never know. "
" Oh, What do you think I want to become in the future based on my personality? " Malisa enquired.
She wanted to know how much Mary knew her.
" Well, since you love reading a lot then I can bet that you'd like to be a writer and... "
" And? "
" Well, since you also love listening to music then I can guess you'd also like to be a singer, Right? "
" You are completely right, I had always dreamed of being a singer and a writer. "
" Wow! So I guessed right! It's so unbelievable, Wow! " She Exclaimed wide-eyed.
" It isn't that hard to guess, is it? "
" Not really. "
" So have you ever thought of how you are going to achieve that goal in a foreign country? " She enquired.
" Umm.. sometimes and I know that for my goal to be achieved I need to study hard, pray hard and be persistent. "
" Yeah. " Mary sighed, " by the way, Have you ever written before? "
" Um.. yeah. Many times. "
" Oh wow! So what did you write about? " Mary inquired curiously.
" Well, I wrote about many things, Friendships, Fantasy, Highschool, family, and so on. " She replied.
" What about Romance? "
" That's one genre I had never tried Writing. "
" Why? "
" Well, I didn't get the idea or inspiration to write that genre then and I guess Romance needs a lot of emotions which I wasn't ready to fit in then. "
" Oh, what about now? "
" Not sure. "
" Oh. By the way, what do you think about my brother, Sis? "
" Your brother? Why would I think anything about him? "
" Oh, Sis! I know you are aware of what I mean but you are just pretending not to. "
" Perhaps. " She admitted.
" So what do you think, Sis? "
" Well, I think he's quite caring and loving especially to you. "
" That's what you think? "
" Yeah, what else do you think I should think? " She inquired a little Suprised.
" Um.. Don't worry. "
" Anyways, I once read a story about a young fifteen ar old girl who attempted suicide but was lucky to be rescued by her brother who happened to be a Royal Prince. "
" Oh, but how can she be a sister to the royal prince if she's just a peasant? "
" That's because she's actually a Royal but unfortunately she was switched at birth. " She explained.
" Oh but that sounds impossible, who would dare exchange the Queen's daughter? "
" Mary, you can't always think that because one Is on top of the world no one will dare mess with them. The truth is, a lot of people would want to then. "
" Oh, but aren't they afraid of being caught and punished severely? "
" They will only be punished severely if they are caught in the act, you Know. "
" Oh, so how was the girl switched? "
" Well, a nurse that worked in the hospital was paid handsomely to do the work. " She replied.
" That's too sad. But how did the Prince know that she was his biological sister? "
" Well, from the time he was a young teen he found himself always dreaming of a girl who looked almost like him so he drew her picture and gave it to his assistants and instructed them to find her, even after years of futile search he was still determined to find her and he did but when he found her it was almost too late as she was in the pool of her blood. "
" Oh my! She committed suicide indeed. So how did she survive? "
" Since the cut on her wrist wasn't too deep, she managed to survive it. "
" Thankfully. "
" Hm, but she only woke up a month after. "
" Why did she only wake up a month after? She was cured already, right? "
" She was but she actually didn't want to wake up but only woke up a month after. "
" Her brother must have been very worried. "
" He was. "
" So what happened next? "
" He along with some therapists helped her learn to love herself. "
" That's good, so what next? "
" I'd leave that to your imagination. "
" Oh no, Sis! Please don't do that! "
" The Writer will kill me if I narrate it all to you! "
" Whatever! Just say you don't want to tell me! "
" I did tell you to have though. You can read it online yourself. "
" Oh, I'll check it out. " Mary said as she brought out her phone and searched for it.
" Note, the book is not romance. "
" It doesn't matter. " She said without raising her head as she continued searching for it, " Found it! " Mary exclaimed happily.
" Good. "
" But the novel isn't completed yet. " Mary pouted.
" That's right. I follow the daily updates and you can do too. "
" Though I prefer completed novels, I guess I'll have to make an exception for this. " She whispered.
" Glad to hear that. "
Soon, the room became quiet as both of them became engrossed in their world of imagination.
