Chapter 43

* Every tick on that clock is another chance to do it again. Do it your way. *

" So are you done staring? " Aiden said interrupting his personal assistant from his stupor.
" I... I am sorry president. " He bowed his head.
" It's okay... "
" Here's your lunch, President... " He said placing the lunch box on the table...
" So what did you get? "
" Hm... Some steak frites, chicken confit and french onion soup.."
" Okay... Thank you... You can leave now... "
" Okay, President. " He said before leaving the room.
While having his meal, Aiden found himself thinking about Malisa and their tea chat tonight..
It was going to be fun... So fun.
He resisted the temptation to go over to meet her as soon as possible...
But well... He couldn't just leave his job just because he was the CEO... Could he?
He has to follow the rules too! No matter how it is!
****
Hours later...
Mary and malisa were both in malisa's room chatting about their day's activities.
" Really? Did they really fall in love? " Mary was enthusiastically inquiring about the book Malisa read about during the day.
" Yep... They had been in love with one another for a long time but were being too scared to confess as they were both scared of breaking their friendship... "
" Oh... I have heard about stuffs like that too. "
" Hm... Btw, your best friend is a girl right? " Malisa inquired carefully.
" Yes... She's very loving and understanding! "
" That's cool! I am glad to hear that! "
" Yeah... My brother won't permit me being in close contact with guys at this age... He stated that I can only get a boyfriend from 18 years and above. "
" At least he's been stern on something... " Malisa said thoughtfully...
" Well... Yeah... He's so strict! "
" He isn't... All he is doing is for your own good... I could tell from his actions that he really and truly loves you a lot... You are really lucky to be blessed with a sibling like him who is willing to do just anything to see you happy... "
" Hm... And I love him too! "
" I know that, alright? "
" By the way, sis... Did you always wish you had a loving sibling too? "
" Well... Sometimes... Though I eventually got to accept that I was not be blessed with one. So I simply accepted my fate. "
" Hm.... Okay. I can only Imagine what you went through. "
" I am sure it's nothing compared to what some people went through and are still going through... " Malisa said.
" Right... "
" So we shouldn't always lament about what we are going through... We should try as much as possible to see the brighter side of things and stay happy no matter what we are going through! Happiness is a mindset afterall... "
" Yeah... By the way, sis I read a poem about happiness. "
" Really? "
" Yep... "
" Do you have a copy of the poem with you? "
" Sure... " Mary searched through her backpack and brought out a note pad and opened to a particular page before handing it over to, Malisa.
" Thanks... " Malisa said before checking out the contents.
The first thing that got her attracted was the illegible handwriting which was really beautiful! It's like calligraphy...
" Are you guys taught calligraphy in your school too? " She couldn't stop herself from asking.
" Yep... We've got two calligraphy teachers. "
" Oh... That's nice. "
Malisa then proceeded to read through the poem.
It said.
People try finding happiness in things and people.

Some end up finding the happiness they desire.
While others fail to...
Such happiness becomes short lived.
As true happiness can't be found in people or things...
Happiness attached to people or things will eventually fade away in time...
But true happiness which comes from within will never.
As humans, we can choose to be happy no matter the situation we are facing...
Happiness can come as a result of chasing our dreams.
It can come as a result of doing something we like...
It also comes as a result of accepting ourselves for who we truly are and not who people think we are...
It comes from being self confident.
It comes from loving one self and accepting ones flaws...
In a nut shell, true happiness can't be bought with money or material things...
It comes from within...
It can also be turned to a mindset....
Because... Happiness is free....
You can choose to be happy at all times!
" Wow! This is really beautiful! " Malisa who had just finished reading the poem exclaimed...
" Yeah... " Mary smiled...
" So who pened this done? " She inquired despite knowing who it could be.
" Well... I did. " Mary admitted shyly...
" As expected of you, Mary! It's beautiful! You'll be a great poet! "
" Maybe... I am still a novice at this... "
" You'll become a professional in time... "
" Yeah... Do you write poems too, sis? "
" I do... Though I haven't written in a while. "
" Oh... Write one for me tomorrow will you, sis? "
" I'll try... Am not promising anything though... "
" Okay... Your word is more than enough! "
" Ah! Really? "
" Yup! You know, sis... I recently met someone who is just as nice and caring as you are... "
" Oh wow! Really? Who is she and what's her name? "
" She's ---- "
" Madame! Madame! " Mary was interrupted from her words by the voices of the butler calling out to them...
The duo became alert and stood up , Mary went over to open the door for the butler to come in...
" Sorry for disturbing you, Madame! " The middle aged butler said panting as if he had just ran a 400m long race.
" It's okay... What happened? " Malisa asked calmly despite the turmoil arising in her heart....
She could sense that something was wrong... So wrong for the butler to have reacted like that...
And she wondered what it was....
.....
A/N : What do you think happened, guys?
Do share your thoughts, I'd love to read them!
Thank you!
