Amelia
The cab stopped in front of the company, I paid and stepped out of the car, my heart in my stomach. I took steady step into the building, Jennifer was on her desk when I entered.
"Hey Amelia" she greeted with a wave, "hi" I replied nervously, "direction to Mrs Williams office please" I requested.
"Right. Just move to the 2nd floor. The first office by your right" she explained. "Thanks" I replied and turned to go, "good luck and have a nice day" she said sweetly and I gave her a wide smile.
I rode up the elevator and stepped into Mrs Williams office, surprisingly, she was the woman that addressed us the day of our interview. She wore a navy blue suit and white heels. Her dark  hair was in a bob and she wore medicated glasses. She looked up at me and smiled.
"Good morning madam" I greeted almost immediately. "Welcome, have a seat dear" she offered and I sat opposite her.
"You are lucky the CEO is not in office, you could have been in hot soup" she stated and looked at me sternly through her glasses, "here at Stones company, lateness is not tolerated at all, you can be relieved of duty because of it" she explained reaching for a file on her table.
"I'm so sorry Mrs Williams, it won't happen again" I apologized sincerely, she smiled genuinely at me, "it's not me the apology should be going to, but it's fine anyways. Here's the list of what you are expected of as his personal assistant. Our boss maybe cold and strict, but trust me, you will enjoy him IF you abide by his rules" she said emphasising on the "if".
Soon, I was walking out of Mrs Williams office, she seems like a nice lady, I wasn't surprised when she explained that she was the secretrary of the CEO of this company, she being the secretary made my work in the company a whole lot easier. She explained how things worked in the company, my paycheck and most of all, my boss's schedule. I was told that the CEO would be absent today being Friday and resume work on Monday.
I walked to the desk that was given to me and giggled softly. I dropped my bag on the table and made myself comfortable. I began to go through the laptop on the table. Through the schedule that was given to me by Mrs Williams, I became aware of the conference he will be attending on Monday. I arranged some documents Mrs Williams emailed to me and was about to go to her office to ask her if I could leave when Jennifer entered. "Why is she here?" I thought.
"Amelia" she said cheerfully, "how are you doing?"she asked.
"Fine I guess, what are you here for?" I asked. I know it sounds kind of rude but like I said, she gives me the creeps.
"Sorry, I came to say hi and to spend a little time with you" she said innocently
"Spend a little time with me? When did our relationship reach to that extent? You even left your desk empty, how could you?" I asked getting angry at her statement.
"Relax, my assistant is covering up for me. Do you expect me to stand all day at the desk? Besides, Boss is not at work" she said with a smile. "Tch" I scoffed. "What do you say we hang out a bit?"
"Hang out with you? Not interested" I answered standing. I could see she was hurt by my statement but I don't give a damn.
"Amelia, can't you see that I'm trying my best to be on your good side? Why do you always shut me out like I'm not eligible to be one of your friends?!" She said bitterly, visibly hurt.
I looked at her and smiled a little, "fine let's hang out but that doesn't make you my friend. We're just colleagues at work nothing more" I sounded and she smiled, "thank you, I'm fine with it. When do we start going?" She asked. "After I have obtained permission from Mrs Williams" I answered her moving towards the elevator, "that's not necessary, she's not even the boss, but it's fine I will wait for you" she said. I could sense jealousy in her tone but I brushed it off.
I came out of her office and Jennifer pulled my hand to have lunch.
***Fast forward***
Monday morning .
I woke up very early and dressed up for work, I would love to make a good impression. I walked out of the room and into the kitchen to prepare breakfast for I and Daisy. We finished eating and cleaned up the house. We walked into her car as she drove me to work and turned to hers too.
I walked into the building and waved back at Jennifer who was waving at me. I pressed the elevator button and it opened to reveal Mrs Williams. I smiled brightly at her and she returned them.
"Good morning Mrs Williams" I greeted. "It's nice to see you here early, miss Amelia" she replied. She stepped out of the elevator when she got to the second floor and I continued riding to the fourth floor which was where
My office is located. I stepped out and walked straight to my table.

I had finished jotting on my notepad when I heard the elevator door opening. I began to hear footsteps as it approached my office, "The CEO must be here" I whispered to myself, my palms was sweating as I was very nervous. I clumsily picked a tissue knocking some items on my table away. I picked them almost immediately and arranged them accordingly as the footsteps came closer and stopped right in front of the door opposite my small office,
"Good morning Sir" I greeted with a bow and he turned to me. He was the man in the middle on the day of my interview. He possessed a lot of power and stood boldly. His cold eyes peered into mine and I was quick to keep my head low.
Hiccup, hiccup, hiccup.
I felt my heart fall into my stomach as he stared at me awkwardly. He looked at me from hair to toe with an  emotionless face  and I began to wonder if my dressing looked professional enough to his taste. I wore a dark green gown with a black belt and shoes. I made sure my hair was in a neat ponytail before he arrived and...I was still in thought and did not notice that he stopped looking at me.
"Who are you?" He asked and I looked up at him immediately as I felt every word from my mouth fly away. "I'm in so much trouble" I whispered to myself. It took me awhile to comport myself before I answered and he never moved an inch.
"I'm sorry sir. My name is Amelia Whites" I answered.
"My personal assistant" he said turning the door knob to his office, "I will call you when I need you" he said walking into his office.
I waited till his door closed and I fell back on my seat sighing in relief. I placed my hand on my pounding chest and just when I was calming down, the phone on the table rang and I reached for it with shaky hands.
"Come in now" he said simply and the line went dead.
My heart began pounding again, louder than before. I closed my eyes and I prayed I will be fine during my stay here.
