I got to school the next day and couldn't find Daisy in class, nevertheless, I walked into the class and sat down. I tried to avoid the peering eyes of my classmates.
"Hey nerd, where's Daisy?" Bosco, one of the boys in my class asked but I kept mute, my eyes focused on the textbook before me.
The class was eerily quiet as they watched I and Bosco. He was standing in front of my locker and banged it loudly when I wasn't supplying any answers. I shook in fear, "I asked a question nerd" he said picking the textbook I was reading and hit me making my glasses fall. My vision became blurry and tears began to fall from my eyes, I could hear him laughing as he hit me again and I whimpered as my hair scattered and cover my face.
"tsk, tsk tsk, you are so dumb" there was an uproar of laughter from my classmates, "for goodness sake, I'm 17 and shouldn't be treated this way" I mumbled silently.
"Stop being childish Bosco" that was Daisy's voice, she was entering the class, I wondered where she was coming from. The class members cooed as they watched in anticipation. "What's little Daisy gonna do??" Bosco asked in a babyish voice as he hit me again maybe expecting Daisy to react, "I don't have your time" she replied instead, "aww, try making it fun Daisy, do something" he sneered. Daisy knew better than to react. "Leave the way Bosco, I want to sit" she said but he stood still, she angrily shoved him aside and he fell down in the process. The whole class erupted with laughter as Daisy picked my glasses and dragged me out of the class.
She made me sit on a seat in the school garden, she placed my glasses on my eyes and I could see clearly again. "You good?" She asked concerned, I kept quiet fiddling with my skirt. "Come on Mel, you need to learn to stand for yourself. Stop being a weakling" . "Thanks Daisy" I managed to say and she hummed in response.
We stayed in silence for sometime before she spoke again, "are you still going out with Adam?" She asked. "Yes. My mom helped with the arrangements" I answered. She sighed in defeat, "I warned you Mel, let's go back to class".
We walked back to class together and school went on as usual.

School was over and I went home feeling excited about my date with Adam. Mom finished my makeup and smiled brightly at me.
"You look beautiful Mel", she said placing my eye glasses on my eyes. I smiled and looked in the mirror, "thanks Mom" I said, "you are most welcome sweet" she said.
A knock came on the door, "I think he's here. Take your time, I will call you down" with that, she left my room for the door.
I put on my clothes and shoes before I was called down, so I grabbed my purse, adjusted my glasses and walked out of my room.
I got to the living room to find Adam looking handsome in a suit and sitting on our couch. He was talking with my mom and they were laughing like old friends. I came close to them and Adam stared at me with a smirk on his face.
"You look beautiful Mel" he complimented, "you don't look bad" I replied blushing slightly, he smirked again.
"Auntie, we will take our leave now, so as to come back earlier" he said moving to peck my mom. "That's right Adam, please take care of my daughter" she said smiling. "I will, trust me" he said, I hugged her, "be careful" she warned as we left the house. We entered his black car and drove to a restaurant. Adam is eighteen and has his driver's license.
When we got to the restaurant, he got out of the car first and helped me out. We walked hand in hand inside the restaurant, I felt flushed at our closeness and his gentlemanly gestures.
Soon, we were sitting down waiting to be served. In the middle of the meal, Adam held my hands and looked deep into my eyes.
"I've been meaning to disclose this to you Mel and I guess this is the right time. I have feelings for you and I want you to be my girlfriend" he simply said.
"You.. y... You want to be my.. my boy boy friend?" I asked unsure. "Of course, that's if you will accept to be mine" he said smiling and rubbing circles on the skin at the back of my hand. Heat rose to my cheeks and I covered my face shyly. Come to think of it, I don't feel very good about this, I thought to myself, "why not give it a try?" My subconscience said. I shrugged and looked at him as he looked on expectantly.
"Yes" I simply said, "yes to what exactly?" He asked smiling. "Yes I agree to be your girlfriend" I said, his eyes glowed with joy and he held my hands tighter.He leaned over to me and bent his head just behind my ears, his breath fanned my cheeks and part of my neck, I shivered at the impact and I felt him smirk behind my ear.
"I would appreciate it, if you put it that you want me to be your boyfriend" he gave me a peck before leaning back on his sit. My cheeks were burning at the moment, nevertheless, I put myself together and with a nervous smile, I concurred.
"Adam I want you to be my boyfriend since I have feelings for you too" He gave out a satisfied smile and asked me to lean over the table, which I did. He made my lips touch his cheeks and before I could back out, he made me kiss him. I was shocked as I sat down wide eyed, that was my freaking first kiss. I covered my face shyly smiling to myself as I heard him chuckle.
Adam called on the waiter and told him to bring the special wine. He came some minutes later with a bottle of non alcoholic wine and two wine glasses. He left our table immediately he dropped it.
Adam poured it into our glasses and we toasted to our new found love. I can't wait to give Daisy and mom details I thought to myself as I drank from the wine glass. Adam did the same, watching me from the corner of his eyes.
I took another sip and suddenly, I wasn't feeling so well. "I need to go to the bathroom" I said to Adam as I made to stand up but slumped back on my seat. My head was spinning and everything became blur. Someone removed my glasses making it worse, "give it back!!" I heard Adam yell as I felt three shadows closing up on me, I tried to stand up again but couldn't and I blacked out.
