Chapter 14 : Waiting
Lin Tian slowly calmed down, the doctor suggested that no one ask after this. Looking back, Lin Tian seemed to have been through a severe trauma that made him feel scared and threatened.
Five minutes later, Lin Tian finally fell asleep again after the sedative really worked. Lin Pan sighed heavily. Lin Hua was fixated on the figure of the man who was currently lying limply on the bed.
If I think back, Lin Hua was amazed by Lin Tian's prowess when he fought all the people in the building a moment ago.
Lin Hua still remembers how adept Lin Tian was with weapons, even though there was drama in it. However, in the end Lin Tian managed to knock them out with his bare hands.
When Lin Hua was brought back to his dream that happened a few hours ago, it was different with Lin Pan. Instantly the memories of the past with Lin Tian tugged at his heart.
Lin Pan closed his eyes as he took a deep breath from time to time. His past thoughts were now starting to bother his mind. How he met Lin Tian at that time.
Lin Pan did not expect before, when he was taking a walk in the park to unwind from busy work, it was there that Lin Pan was met with Lin Tian.
At that time Lin Tian was only five years old. The boy was walking while picking up used drinking bottles and putting them in a sack that was big enough from his body.
Little Lin Tian stumbled as the sack was full. Lin Pan was made to not bear to see, his heart was moved to help Lin Tian.
"Let Uncle carry it," said Lin Pan as he grabbed the sack containing the used bottles.
The boy looked at Lin Pan's eyes, there was a calm he got. "Uncle who?" asked little Lin Tian innocently. His eyes seemed to say something. Lin Pan smiled gently, while stroking the little boy's hair.
"My name is Lin Pan. You can call me Uncle Lin," he asked as he bent his knees and positioned himself on the same level as the boy.
"My name is Tian. I do not follow the surname of Mother or Father," he admitted innocently.
Lin Pan gasped, his heart sinking when he heard the confession of the little boy in front of him.
"Then where is your house?"
"I don't have a house. I live there, in the Orphanage at the end of this road," the little boy pointed. "I don't live with many children like myself. The adults there, they treat us well. I love them very much. Would you like to come to our house?"
The little boy asked at the end of his sentence. His words intrigued Lin Pan even more. "Can you show me your house, Uncle? Uncle, I want to see the others too."
Lin Pan tried to compose the right sentences so the little boy could understand what he was saying.
"Of course you can meet my other friends. Uncle will definitely be very happy to meet them," said little Lin Tian confidently.
Lin Pan could feel that the little boy in front of him right now was a smart kid. At his current age, he can already understand many things. He also has a lot of vocabulary and he speaks fluently too.
"Come on, Uncle!"
Before Lin Pan could reply, the boy had already pulled his hand away. Lin Pan could not refuse the invitation, he followed the little boy while carrying a large sack filled with used bottles.
That day was Lin Pan's first encounter with Lin Tian. Lin Pan's reverie was broken when Lin Hua touched his shoulder. The girl came to Lin Pan with food. Lin Hua found out that Lin Pan hadn't eaten anything since just now.
"Eat this, Daddy. You haven't eaten anything since. I'm afraid you'll be sick."
There was a soft voice from the beautiful black beaded girl. Lin Pan stared at him in silence, there was a pang in his heart when he saw Lin Tian who was still unconscious.
"I'm not hungry now, sweetheart. Dad, will eat later, honey," Lin Pan replied as he put a small smile on his lips.
Lin Hua sat on the opposite side of Lin Pan, there was no Lin Xiao. Just a moment ago Lin Pan asked Lin Xiao to leave because he had something to finish.
Lin Pan was the one who should have left, but because Lin Tian's condition had not yet shown a good word, Lin Pan was reluctant to leave the hospital. So, it was Lin Xiao who had to take care of the work.
Lin Hua still faithfully accompanied him there. It was almost seven o'clock in the evening, but Lin Tian had not shown any signs of waking up.
According to the Doctor's prediction, Lin Tian would be conscious after two hours. However, it was already past the allotted two hours. This made Lin Hua and Lin Pan uneasy.
Feelings are made to wander around without any certainty, will he wake up feeling fine or no longer remember anything. This is what keeps bothering Lin Hua's mind.
Lin Hua shuffled from his spot, when he was about to swing his legs he suddenly groaned in pain, which finally made Lin Hua fall back onto the sofa.
"What is it?" Lin Pan immediately reacted, he saw something happened to Lin Hua. However, the girl tried to cover it up.
"It's okay, Father. I'm fine," said Lin Hua, covering her lower leg with her right hand.
Lin Pan certainly doesn't believe it easily, even though Lin Hua keeps saying it's fine, but Lin Pan is sure that there is something Lin Hua is hiding right now.
"Here, let Father take a look," Lin Pan insisted. Finally Lin Hua gave in and showed the bandaged leg. He didn't really want to tell anyone about it, but he had to because he didn't want to make Lin Pan even more anxious.
"You're hurt, honey," said a slightly surprised Lin Pan.
The girl who he called 'darling' again closed the legs. "It's just a minor wound, Father. It will take a few days at least to heal," Lin Hua replied trying to stay calm, even under the pressure.
"What's healed? Your wound seems deep, you should be examined by a doctor. Come on, let's go to the doctor to check the condition of your wound," said Lin Pan who was a little pushy.
"No dad. I'm fine. The wound is not serious at all, I have already treated it, Father. So, you don't have to worry about my wound," Lin Hua coaxed as he pulled Lin Pan's hand back to sit with him.
Lin Pan took a deep breath, actually she couldn't bear to see Lin Hua endure such pain. However, it was because of his request that Lin Pan finally gave up on taking Lin Hua to the doctor.
