Rachael got into Kimberly's ward and saw her laying on the bed, her eyes were shut. “Kimberly?” She called and Kim opened her eyes in shock immediately. “Mom?” she called turning to look at Racheal. Rachael walked closer and Kimberly just stared at her as she did. “Hey, I heard you sold your kidney.” She said nonchalantly and Kim sighed. “I did sell my kidney mom,” Kim responded and Racheal nodded. “oh yes, you didn’t sell, you gave out! Why on Earth would you do that?” She asked and Kim breathed out. “Do what? Donate a kidney?” she asked. “For free!” she said in frustration and Kim looked at her unbelievably. “Are you questioning me because of the money not because of my health?” Kim asked. “Look here Kim, before you can donate a kidney to someone, it means the other kidney is fine and you can survive using it, many people had done that. But the annoying part is doing it for free. Did you put your life at stake for free? That is so stupid!” Rachael uttered. Kim was so shocked to hear those words from her Mother. She knew she loved money but she never knew the love for money in her was greater than her child's love. “Mom get out.” She mumbled in a shaky tone. She was both sad and angry. “What? How dare you! I am your mother!” Rachael yelled angrily. “I doubt that, I have no mother.” She started pressing the bell that was beside her bed. She needed to alert the nurses so that they would get her out of the ward. The nurses rushed into the room and met Racheal inside the ward. “Who are you? You are not supposed to be here.” They said and Racheal looked at them. “I am her mother! You have no right to send me out.” She uttered angrily and they looked at Kimberly. “is that true? Is she your mom?” they asked and Kim shook her head. “no, I don’t know who she is.” She replied and Rachael's mouth dropped open. “How dare you, Kim! How dare you deny your mother!” She yelled and then the security rushed in. “Come with me ma.” He said to Racheal pointing at the door of the ward. “Don’t harass me okay? I can walk out myself. I need no escort.” She started looking at Kimberly before walking towards the door. She then stopped and turned to look at Kim for the last time. “You have no mother anymore Kim.” She uttered before walking out of the ward. Tears rolled down Kim's eyes, all she wanted was a caring mother but hers was different. She had a stingy, selfish, and wicked mother. She had wished right from a tender age that her mother would change but she never did. She was left wondering how her father got to marry her. *** FIVE HOURS AFTER THE SURGERY Landon moaned opening his eyes slowly, blinking his eyelids severally to have a clearer vision of where he was. Immediately his blurred vision cleared, he saw his mother next to him smiling widely at him. “Hey, baby.” She said happily and Landon smiled. “Hi, Mother.” He responded happily. “How do you feel? Do I need to call the doctor?” She asked and Landon shook his head laughing slightly. “No. You don’t need to Mother. I am fine.” He said and she smiled. “I am so happy you are back to me baby.” She said and he smiled. “Me too Mother.” He said looking around the ward for something. Sara didn’t understand what exactly he was looking for. “What are you looking for?” She asked looking around the ward too. “Where is Kim?” He asked looking at her. “She would come around soon son. You would see her.” Sara started and Landon shook his head. “I am tired of hearing that. Tell me what is going on, I haven’t seen her for days and I miss her. You need to tell me what is going on, where she is.” He said looking at Sara. Sara knew she couldn’t hold it any longer, he wouldn’t stop until he found out what was going on. “Landon…” She said and then Kim cut in immediately. “I am here Landon,” Kimberly said walking to the bed and a large smile showed on Landon's face. Then immediately, he made the smile fade and kept a straight face. “Where have you been?” he asked trying to act angry and Kimberly chuckled. “I saw you smile you don’t have to pretend you don’t miss me.” She said and Landon laughed softly. “Come here.” He muttered and she walked closer. She leaned forward and he planted a kiss on her lips. “I missed you.” He said and Kim smiled. “I miss you too Arrogant. So sorry I have not been around, I have not been feeling too well so I had to go home.” She lied and Landon furrowed her brows. “How do you feel now?” He asked worriedly and she chuckled. “I am better now, you are so sweet now. I heard you got a donor already, I am so happy.” She said and Landon nodded. “I am so happy too. Those few days of hopelessness went a long way in my life.” He said and tears gathered in Kim’s eyes. “Good day Ma'am Sara.” Kim greeted using that medium to look away from Landon. “Good day Kim, I hope you are better now?” I didn’t want to tell Landon so he won’t be worried.” She said and Kim smiled. “I am better now Mrs. Sara, thank you.” She responded before looking at Landon. “How are you feeling? And when did the doctor say you would be discharged?” Kim asked. “I am fine, super fine. And I will be leaving her in two days.” He said and Kim nodded. “That is great news.” She said and immediately they heard someone barge in. “Kim! Kim!” Peter called and her eyes widened. “Father?” she called ruining to him. “Why Kim! Why? Why did you do it?” He asked and she placed her hand on his mouth. “Father let's talk outside please.” She whispered holding his hand and walking out with him. “What was that about Mom?” He asked and Sara shrugged her shoulders. “I don’t know, probably family issues.” She responded and Landon nodded reluctantly staring at her face. She was acting so weird but he didn’t want to ask further questions.
