“Are you hungry?” Landon mumbled and Kim smiled raising her head to look at him. “Kind of. Thought you were asleep, didn’t want to disturb you.” She said and he cleaned his eyes. “No, you didn’t, but your grumbling stomach did.” He said and Kim felt kind of embarrassed. “I am sorry.” She said and he shook his head. “Not at all Kim, you don’t have to be. I am hungry too, the only difference is my stomach isn’t making noises.” He said and they both chuckled. “Okay then, wait here. I would prepare something for us.” She said trying to get out of Landon's arms but he held her back to himself. “I can’t let you do that. I will do the cooking as from today.” He said and her eyes widened. “C'mon Landon, you don’t have to. I am fine, trust me.” She said and he nodded. “I trust you, but that doesn’t stop me from doing what is right. You gave me your kidney knowing very well you had a faulty one. The least I can do is take care of you for the rest of my life. I owe you my life, Kimberly.” He uttered and Kim shook her head. “This is exactly what I was trying to avoid. I don’t want you to feel like you owe me, I caused what happened, I gave you what you don’t eat and didn’t even say sorry.” She said and Landon shook his head. “It doesn’t matter, you gave me time, a whole lot of time to prove to you how much I love you. If you didn’t give this to me, I would still die anyway.” He said and Kim breathed out softly. “Fine, you are cooking. But I am not staying here idle neither, we would do the cooking together.” She said and Landon smiled. “it's okay if you just watch me the way I do it. Then tell me how to do it. But you are not touching anything.” He said touching her hand and moving out of the room. They both walked to the kitchen, their hands tied together tightly like they were scared of letting each other go. “So what should I make?” he asked as soon as they got to the kitchen. “Arrr, I don’t know. Anything you feel won’t hurt both of us.” She replied and he smiled. “I think rice balls would do the trick.” He said picking up the apron and tying it around himself. “You look hot in that.” She said and he smiled looking at her. “If you are trying to make me happy, it is working perfectly well.” He responded and she laughed. “I can’t let you keep standing that way. You should sit and watch me do wonders.” He said walking to where Kimberly stood. He carried her and placed her on the kitchen cabinet, not too far from the Zinc. She giggled as he lifted her and even kissed her lips. “Are you okay there?” He asked and she nodded smiling. “Perfectly fine.” She responded and he nodded walking to the gas cooker. He opened the cabinet next to it and drew out a pot. He filled the pot with water and stopped when the water hit the middle of the pot. He ignited the gas and placed the pot on it. He also bent and began to carry the mini bags of rice. “I never knew you were this hardworking.” Kim teased and Landon laughed. “I became lazy when I had everything I wanted. But I can’t be that lazy guy anymore. My woman needs me.” He said and Kimberly's cheeks flushed. She felt so happy hearing those words proceed from his mouth. “I love you.” She said in almost a whisper and he dropped the bag of rice on the cabinet and walked up to her. He grabbed her by the waist and pulled her closer to himself. He leaned forward and kissed her deeply on the lips. She reciprocated immediately, wrapping her hands around his neck drawing him closer that way. His hands moved around her waist down to her an*s line. Their breathing became intense as he moved from her lips to her neck. “Landon.” She called in a soft moan. “Yes, baby.” He answered immediately raising his head to look at her. “We are in the kitchen and you have something on the fire.” She said giggling and he nodded scratching his head. “Yes, sorry about that. My bad.” He said walking back to the gas cooker shyly. “You can stop that for now if you want to.” She said and his eyes widened. “What? Really? You mean we should…” he said and Kim smiled bobbing shyly. Immediately, Landon switched off the gas cooker and moved to her. He carried her in a bridal manner and ran up the stairs with her. Till today, he can’t phantom where the strength came from.
