Two Weeks Later. At Callum's House. After Callum ensured that the contractors had laid the foundations of the four bedroom detached duplexes, he returned to the city. His wife was glad to see him, and she inquired, “What kept you so long, my dear?” Callum smiled and explained, “Just like I said over the phone, I stayed back to ensure that there would be no attack on mama from any quarters.” Now, his wife, who would welcome any excuse that was connected with her mother, was convinced, and she pressed on, “You are right. I fear the chief priest and his fetish practices. I hope he did not summon mama to the shrine?” “I'm glad that you saw reasons with me. He attempted to do that, but Uncle Emma intimidated him.” To stop her from asking more questions, he feigned hunger. “I'm starving…” “Starving? His wife interrupted. She gave him a searching look and asked. “Didn't you take the complimentary snacks in the aircraft?” Now, Callum ignored her question and demanded with finality, “Get my food ready,” He walked into his room and gave Evans a call. “Hello, Callum. Are you back?” Evans asked when he picked. “Certainly.” “That is good. How was your trip?” “My trip was fine. How is work?” “Work is okay. What are the state of things before you left the village?” “As you can see from the pictures I sent to you, the foundation had been laid.” “I see. That is impressive. When do you think that the burial would come up?” “I think that ten months from now would be all right. It would give the contractor the opportunity to complete the building.” “That is good. It will also give me the opportunity to go for my training at the Saudi Arabia and come back.” “That is good. Congratulations once again.” “Thank you.” After a while, his wife walked to the room and informed, “Your brunch is ready.” “All right. I will be with you shortly.” While on the dining table, Callum ate silently while his wife sat beside him. “I'm thinking that my in-law's funeral would come up ten months from now,” Callum hinted. “Funeral? Why the ceremony?” Now, he gave his wife a searching look and asked, “What do you mean?” “I'm of the opinion that we bury him without funeral because he did have any achievement that warrants us to honor and celebrate him.” Callum laughed softly and teased, “How can you say that someone who has me and my co in-laws does not have any achievement?” Nevertheless, his wife was not moved by the joke, and she pressed on, “You will make a laughingstock of my sisters and me when you take your friends to the funeral. They would see the kind of worthless father we had.” At that point, Callum was touched, and he was delighted with himself for taking the initiative to wipe away the negative impression that her father's wasted life had on her and her siblings. “Cheer up. We are in it together. We will take the shame once and for all. I accompany my friends to bury their parents, in-laws. It is apparent that they should accompany me to bury mine.” His wife was mute and sulked over her husband's insistence. Likewise, he cheered her up before he took her out for a treat. At Sharon's House It had been two weeks of honeymoon for the couple who had reconciled. Now, Sharon was happy with the forgiveness and resolved not to ask too many questions. She had taken good care of Bruno and he had regained his confidence. “I'm going to the office,” he announced one morning during the breakfast. Sharon, who had many questions to ask, looked into his eyes and agreed, “It is all right.” She could not ask whether he would stop bye and see his family, but to ensure that he returned to her, she leaned towards him and gave him a deep kiss. He reciprocated without hesitant and thereafter, Sharon said, “I love you, baby.” I love you too,” he responded. Now, having lost the chance of getting married to a younger person, she decided to settle down with him. Besides, part of her problem with him was his awkward sex life. The ugly incident of two weeks ago had revealed their sexual prowess. Now, she was truly in love and the age gap made no meaning to her anymore. Just like Bruno, her greatest desire was to conceive for him and keep him to herself. “I will be right back,” he whispered. “Yes. But you can't just leave like that. I have a surprise for you,” she said. Bruno smiled and allowed her to please herself. She got off her seat and squatted on her knees before him. In a jiffy, she pulled off his dipstick from his boxer and gave him the surprise she had for him. “This is the best so far,” he whispered when he sat on his dick and rode vigorously. “I'm glad that you love it. You deserve the best.” Thereupon, they were pleasured for the morning. Meanwhile, Bruno felt guilty. He concluded that she slept with the laundry man because he was not there for her. Thereafter, he left for work. To be on a safe side, he locked the door and left with the key. At the Industrial Area Bruno drove to the organization armed with the notion that he would be reinstated. “After all, Evans said there is room for reapplication. I can't wait to resume and do away with him and the Commissioner of Police,” he concluded. After a while, he was the gate of the Industrial Complex. He honked at the security men and waited patiently. The security guards on duty looked at the car, and wondered who had the audacity to drive into the gate. “How may I help you?” A guard signaled and walked up to the car. The overconfident Bruno forgot that out of sight is out of mind. Actually, the guard had forgotten what he looked like. “How are you?” He asked the guard after he rolled down his window.
