The Funeral 12

At the Doctor's Office.
Mr. Angus took her to a neutral clinic, where he would not be identified. As usual, he wore his mask. After a series of tests, the doctor, who was not aware of their relationship, announced cheerfully, “Congratulations. You will be a mother and a father soon.”
As the doctor expected, they were genuinely happy with the result, and the doctor counseled them on the dos and don'ts of early pregnancy before they left.
At Sharon's House
Bruno doted on her and the unborn baby.
“Congratulations, my Angel, and the mother of my baby,” he complimented after laying her gently on the bed. Sharon laughed heartily and responded, “Thank you, baby, for making me a woman. I'm happy to be your Angel.”
At that moment, he pulled her closer and gave her a passionate kiss, and she reciprocated.
“You are sweet, my Angel.”
“You're the sweetest. I can't wait to have you.”
Now, for the celebration of their fulfillment, they gave each other their best and thereafter, Bruno inquired, “Did I satisfy you?” “Yes, now, it is my turn to satisfy you,” Sharon said and mounted on him. “Be careful with the fetus,” Bruno advised. “I will.”
At last, they were satisfied and went for their lunch.
At the Industrial Complex
Nevertheless, Bruno was anxiously awaiting the response to his application like a farmer waited for the rain.
“It is over three months,” he grumbled. Meanwhile, the new General Manager had resumed and Susan was employed. She hired a manager for her fashion business and visit the shop once in a while. In Evan's report for the month, he intimated the headquarters of the latest development which included that he employed the former General Manager's wife on compassionate ground, and they were happy with his human nature.
“That is brilliant, Mr. Owens. I’m glad to hear that.” Mr. Warfield commended.
“Thank you, Mr. Warfield,” Evans appreciated without disclosing that Bruno abandoned his family. Meanwhile, Susan had to move to the Senior Staff quarters to make room for the new manager.
Trip to the Headquarters.
Evans and his family traveled to Saudi Arabia for his two months training. Nevertheless, he planned it to fall during the holidays, and it was a joyous moment for the family. When Bruno learned of his trip, he was bent out of shape. He could not withstand Evans and his family enjoying the life that he had planned to enjoy with Sharon and their unborn baby. Such opportunity would have been his if not for his 'pull him down syndrome' against Evans. At Saudi Arabia, George, who was not present at the lunch with Mr. Warfield and his team, was able to meet with them. Nevertheless, they were delighted to see him and his sister.
“We appreciate your visit, George,” Mr. Warfield and his team greeted one after the other.
“It is my pleasure, Mr. Warfield,” he responded with Glee.
After the training, they returned to Nigeria and George heard the story of how Mr. Angus abandoned his family.
“I don't think there is anything like true love anymore,” he concluded.
On Evans' return, the company began her plans for the Inauguration Ceremony of their Independence, and Bruno wished to return before the ceremony.
“Will they inaugurate without a General Manager? This is not how to run an organization,” He thought. “I will visit Evans at his home and find out why he broke his promise,” he resolved.
Meeting the Group Managing Director to strengthen things out was imperative. Bruno was in dire need of a job, especially now that he was certain that Sharon was expecting a baby boy. The ultrasound that was performed at different occasions confirmed that. He was downcast because he was unable to spoil her wealth the way he planned. While he was agitating to pay Evans a visit, the General Manager of the company made a public broadcast about the upcoming ceremony, and he was shocked when he saw him on the television.
“What!” He exclaimed. “I thought Tony was on my side? We spoke a few days ago, and he didn't say anything about his promotion. No one can be trusted.”
To his disappointment, the inauguration, which would have enabled him to flaunt his comeback, came and went without reinstating him. In the meantime, he took solace in the fact that he would soon be the father of a boy.
At the Hotel
As the eldest daughter, Ada and her husband, the head of the in-laws arrived earlier with their family. Joe, Regan, and their daughter, Cynthia, arrived with them, and they moved into a hotel.
“I don't see the need for the stress,” Ada lamented when the picture of her father's ruined compound crossed her mind.
“What stress are you talking about?” Callum inquired angrily.
“How can we spend so much on a hotel bill for the sake of a worthless father?”
“I apologize for attempting to make life comfortable for us. Get ready, we are checking out of the hotel in the morning,” he announced with a feigned indignation.
“Checking out of the hotel for where?”
“To your father's house. I would rather not waste money on hotel bills.”
“Which house?”
Now, Callum stormed out of the room and banged the door. Ada was scared because, her husband needed to be composed to be able to face the elders.
'I hope I have not ruined his day?' she murmured.
“What happened, mom? Why is dad angry?” Joe, the first son, inquired after he rushed into the bedroom with his siblings.
“I only complained about the money he is spending on the funeral of a man who does not deserve it, and he got angry.”
“So, what do we do? We can’t start like this?” Regan asked.
“He said we will check out of the hotel in the morning and stay in the village,” their mother explained.
The exhilarated youngsters screamed in unison.
“Wow! We will see Uncle Emma.”
“Yes. It's been a long time that I listened to his jokes,” Cynthia added.
“I can't wait to be in the village.”
At that point, Ada was the only one unhappy because the children saw things differently. They did not see their grandfather's house as a threat. In summary, they do not know that it existed because they never visited it. They only stopped at Uncle Emma's house.
