“Be careful with the water, please. Or we may go to the brook and get for ourselves if we exhaust it.” The children heard enough of 'be careful' that day, but they did not mind their mother. After they took their bath, they were famished, Cynthia strolled to her uncle's house for food. She assisted in preparing the food, and thereafter, ignorant of her mother's wish, she took their meal to their house. “Mom, dad, everyone, dinner is ready.” She called out after setting it on the dinner table. “Oh! Cynthia. We would have had our dinner at Uncle Emma's compound, instead of ruining here,” Ada pointed out. No one gave heed to her complaint. Thereafter, they had their dinner quietly and everyone was fine except Ada, who was apprehensive. Nevertheless, there is always a disadvantage to every advantage. Callum deserved to be appreciated by his wife in a special way, but she was mindful of the house and was unsettled. However, Callum must make her do it. “I'm exhausted,” he cried out, and laid on the bed. “Be careful. Let's not spoil their bed,” she pointed out. He ignored her warning and requested. “I need a massage.” She looked at him and smiled. Then, he placed his head on her stomach and gave her a peck. She rubbed his bare back and recalled what her uncle said about her husband's benevolence, and appreciated once again. “Thank you for being the best husband in the world.” “Nothing is too much for my queen and my children. This is their maternal home, besides, the man in question is their grandfather.” “You are right.” Soon, she put her fears aside and pleasured her husband. To her surprise, he was not as tired as she expected. He was thrusting in and out of her happily as if it was their first time. “You mean a lot to me, my queen. I can't have you enough.” “Take me. You deserve more than enough.” Callum ensured that he bedded her on every part of the room, ranging from the couch, reading desk, the center rug and the bathroom as his way of warming the house. Nevertheless, Callum's energy had an aphrodisiac effect on her, and she helped herself. “You are sweeter today, hubby.” “Just like you, my queen.” They spent the night relishing each other until Callum was satisfied and ensured that she was contented. The next day. Before they woke up, Mr. Aaron had turned on the tap, and the surprised villagers fetched happily. Those going to the brook, which was some distances away, stopped and helped themselves. “If the money man had not bought the field, would Beck ever build this edifice?” One of them asked sarcastically. “You are right. How would we have gotten this water?” “I'm quite certain that he died of a broken heart when his field was confiscated.” “He can die of anything. At least, I can get my debt back through the water.” They laughed happily and fetched the water to their satisfaction. Three Days Later. At Evans House. He had made arrangements for his driver to move the father-in-law's corpse from the morgue to the village. From the information he got from Callum concerning the outcome of the meeting with the elders, he was glad that they did not ask too many questions. The driver deposited him in another morgue nearby and returned to the city. Thereafter, his driver and the staff bus driver left for the village. “We would leave tomorrow for the village,” Evans announced. “Is it not too early? I suggest that we leave a day to the burial and return the next day after the burial.” Dora emphasized. “I don't agree with you. We need time to prepare…” “Prepare for what?” She cut in. “I mean that we need time to rest.” Evans, who almost let the cat out of the bag, corrected. “Rest? What kind of rest do you want to have in the village that you can't have here?” Evans smiled and declared. “You will see the difference between village rest and city rest.” They laughed, and Sarah decided to let him have his way. They left for the airport three days after Callum and his family arrived in the village. To Sarah's surprise, their driver picked them from the airport and headed for the village. “Are we not lodging in a hotel?” Sarah inquired. “Let's see Uncle Emma first. Thereafter, we will know the next thing to do.” “It's a better idea,” she concurred. Soon, they were in the village. The driver, who was not part of the surprise, drove to the new house straight. He had been there two days ago when he brought Beck's corps. “Where are you going?” Sarah asked the driver when he parked in the front of a strange building and waited for the gate to be opened. “Let him be.” Evans advised. Then, she looked at him and he explained further. “Callum and his family are here.” Now, the joy of meeting them overshadowed her curiosity. She was on cloud nine when she saw Joe opening the gate. Before the driver could park, George, who was at the front seat, opened the door and the driver halted. He got off at once and walked up to Joe. Lilian, who was in between her parents at the back, was disadvantaged. She ran out of the car as soon as her dad stepped down. At that point, Regan and Cynthia were out of the house and welcomed them with excitement. To their delight, Frank showed up too, and their joy was complete. “Let's see my in-law first before you see your sister,” Evans advised his wife, who was looking around and admiring the edifice. “All right. This house is fine.” “You like it?” “Who would not like it?” Evans smiled at his wife's commendation, and they walked to the foot gate. “Mama!” She exclaimed when she sighted her mother at her uncle's house. They walked briskly and greeted simultaneously. Then, Uncle Emma and his first son, Dickson, who returned the previous day for his uncle's funeral, walked out of the hut and met them. “I greet you, my in-laws,” Evans greeted cheerfully. “Welcome, my in-law. I thank God for a safe trip. Where are my children?” Uncle Emma asked. “They have joined their cousins.” “Welcome, my in-law.” Dickson greeted and stretched out his hand for a handshake. “Dickson, why are you in the country? I hope there is no problem?" Sarah inquired after her greetings.
