Chapter 22 What Happened In The Dungeon?

Extremely lost in deep thought, Drucilla couldn't believe what was happening. She covered her mouth with both hands as she kept trembling beside Alpha Gavin. Her emotions have really gone through so many different levels of excitement since she stepped into the alpha's chambers this morning.
She was initially flustered, was extremely scared, became shocked, then undisguised embarrassment engulfed her entire being finally. However, looking at the situation before her, she feels raw dread like nothing she has ever felt before. She couldn't help the tremor that consumed her body, as nothing could ever wipe the scene out of her mind. The trauma could never be forgotten.
"Alpha… please… don't… you can't get any closer… it would be detrimental to your health… you don't know what this is…. I mean… You'll get hurt" Drucilla continues to mumble various words of caution, as well as moving backward step by step. She was so terrified that she didn't notice she had said more than enough. She had always been fearful of Alpha Gavin, but she was still willing to caution him in the current situation. After all, she promised to nurse him to good health, just as directed by Kurah, not worsen his health. He may not know the consequences of the situation, but she does.
When Drucilla saw the enraged look on Alpha Gavin, her mind suddenly drifted to that fateful night when Alpha Gavin marched to their pack house. They thought their location was hidden enough to stand any attack from other werewolves. In his delusion, her father also thought that his defenses were strong enough to keep them safe from the purge that every rogue pack was speaking about. Funny enough, he thought they were ready for the Dark-Dawn Pack.
However, reality proved to all of them that not all werewolves were at the mercy of their flimsy defense system. Alpha Gavin broke their defense system as if it was child's play. Drucilla remembers hearing the alpha ask her father tauntingly, "you call this a defense system?" Her father, being so obstinate, rather chose to buy them enough time by immediately commanding the wolves under him to attack the intruders.
It was a very short battle, but Drucilla could tell that her father was waiting for something, or better still, someone, to show up and save them. To turn the tides of the battle.
However, the person never showed up. It's been a while since the battle, but Drucilla still remembers that day as though it was just yesterday. She also had a daring thought about who exactly her obstinate father was counting on.
She learned one lesson that night, Alpha Gavin is not one to be messed with. As a result, she has also spent her days doing just as she was told and staying out of the things that had nothing to do with her in Wolf City. As a master of the act of invincibility, she stayed invincible for quite some time, until she caught Kurah's eyes.
Becoming a servant in the Alpha's house was a blessing all pack members prayed and hoped for, however, Drucilla never saw it that way. She always walked on eggshells, wondering if Alpha Gavin would ever tear her up like he tore her father into shreds that very night. She witnessed it all, and those memories would just not go away.
At one point, she's filled with warmth as she witnesses the love and affection the family has for each other, including their pack members, even the servants. The alpha seems to love and don't on his younger sister so much that, it even seems weird. However, her fear of Alpha Gavin still lingers.
Lost in thought, Drucilla concluded that her mastery of being invincible even in an open space, would not save her this time. Her tears kept falling freely as she felt the chilly vibe exuded by the alpha. She could only say that this is it, it was over, she was finally going to die a miserable death, just like her miserable life. Maybe it wasn't such a bad thing after all. At least, she lived to see some happy moments in this new place.
Feeling sorry for her pitiful life, Drucilla watched animatedly as the alpha looked at her like a predator watching its prey. She couldn't tell what she did to spite him so much, but she could tell that he was seriously angry.
Before Drucilla could process what was going to happen next, she heard the coldest voice ever, "get out!" It might have been said in a cold voice, but it was a melody to her ears, and Drucilla would have been a fool to be told twice. She ran as fast as she never imagined she could, after hurrying out of the Alpha's presence.
On her way to wherever she was running to, Drucilla heard a loud bang as if something hard was hit against the wall, but she never looked back to check what it was. Not even for a fleeting moment. She didn't dare imagine what it was, but she would have been more scared if she had witnessed the situation behind her.

"Speak!" Alpha Gavin commands in his authoritative alpha voice, with his alpha aura spreading in the room.
Wesley and Ortiz could see that the alpha was seething and sweating, and his gaze seemed so fierce also. The aura affected them, but they were able to endure it since Alpha Gavin wasn't in his best elements at the moment. It is rather surprising how he could still exert so much alpha aura when he was already so badly wounded.
Speaking of being wounded, they could also smell blood on him, but couldn't spot any stains of blood on or around Alpha Gavin. They could only conclude that maybe a wound opened when the alpha exerted pressure on his wounds by trying to walk earlier. They would never imagine he didn't just attempt to walk, but he actually did, and a long distance at that.
Ortiz and Wesley couldn't help praying for the alpha to dismiss them quickly, so they could get Luna to summon the physician. It's not like they had what it took to demand that Alpha Gavin displays his bleeding wound before them anyway.
The two were suddenly brought to reality when they heard the alpha's cold voice demanding them to speak. They were momentarily baffled, and couldn't get what exactly was making the alpha so angry. He didn't sound them out earlier, so how could he be looking so pissed right now? It's not like they even did anything wrong, they just didn't want to take the alpha to the dungeon. Is it so much to be this pissed about?
Ortiz spoke up first and said, "My companion had a prior engagement to attend to, so I'll need to wait for the next six months… before another meeting can be arranged with the seer… I only found out after getting to her place… but I believe she's worth the wait… I'll also…"Gavin's aura became more chilly, causing Ortiz to become silent immediately.
Wesley also spoke about Luna Kendra taking a nap, the reason why he'll need to wait for an audience when she wakes up later on. Gavin couldn't take the nonsense anymore, as he bellowed in a dangerous voice, " one more word… and I'll have your heads on a spike!"
Wesley suddenly felt a coldness on his neck, as he rubbed his hands on it, just to be sure he was still safe. He was visibly shaken by Gavin's outburst, as the alpha never makes empty threats, not even as a joke. At least, not with them. The two could only watch sheepishly as Gavin reins in his aura and asks coldly, "what happened in the dungeon?"
Wesley and Ortiz couldn't believe their ears. They left Alpha Gavin here and came back to meet him at the same place, his bed-chamber. It was obvious to them that he never took a step out of the room, so how on earth could he ask them about the situation in the dungeon? Confusion was clearly written on their faces, and Gavin could see it.
The two looked at each other and couldn't help wondering if their acting was just too bad to be considered. Maybe they were too obvious earlier on. However, they didn't wish to inform the alpha about the situation in the dungeon. Their response would result in follow-up questions and the need for answers that they could not provide.
How on earth were they to wriggle their way out of the current situation? All hell could break loose if they dared make any response to his question.
Their lives depended on their silence, but no matter what, the alpha asked a question, and they had to answer him
