Chapter 41 Tale of Son of Zeus v

"Is this really you?"
I asked in surprise, not the least person I had expected to show up in a time like this, not even caring if I was in front of some creatures. She took a glance at me but her hands not leaving her arrow placed In her bow, ready to shoot.
"Like seriously? Just be serious or else you would be left with no choice! "
Ama snapped as she k focused on the three fire horse riders.
"Choice? What do you mean by that?"
I asked as I felt something behind those words like they carried some warning, she couldn't get to reply as my eyes caught a spiked flail aiming for my head, I guided it with my fist but the spike impaled my hand and flunged me away.
I groaned as I quickly staggered up, my hand was in pain as dark blood flowed from it.
'poison!'
I muttered as I figured what it was, I rolled on the floor as I dodged another spiked flail.
"Watch out!!"
I yelled at Ama and was quick to leap over the flail that that swung for her, the horsemen just stood at a point, just magically controlling their flail with their hands.
Ama fired several shots at the creatures but they growled in unison and the arrows repelled themselves and aimed at back at her but they stopped some inches to her and dropped to the ground.
She ran speedily at the beasts but one of the flails hit her and wrapped on her legs, making her to lose balance and fall, vines sprouted out and held her firmly, preventing her from falling.
The flail loosened it's grip and headed back to the creature in the middle.
These creatures seemed unpredictable and Ama could not even land a single blow on one.
I igniter in flames, controlling the intensity of the fire to my palm which made a fire ball and threw it on the flails that were headed my way but the flails evaded it skillfully like they had a mind of theirs and before I could move, the impact on the flails on me made me lose balance and the momentum pushed me backwards, crashing on the abandoned Uber. Black blood oozed from my body and I felt weak, my strength fading faster than I could think of... the poison was spreading fast.
Ama walked over to me as her empty quiver became mysteriously filled with arrows that had flowers at the rear.
"Be careful, those flails are poison"
I warned Ama, she nodded back as we both stood beside each other for any attack, I clutched my stomach as I felt tremendous pain in my abdomen.
My raging fire reduced it's intensity as the poison was dangerously spreading.
"You need to stay down! You have been poisoned!"
Ama stated as she stood unfazed by the creatures which seemed to be from hell. As much as I trier to surpress the pain I was faced by dizziness washed over and I staggered back but was quick to regain my composure.
"I can.. manage.."
I stuttered with pain, Ama looked over her shoulder, I could feel it, her worries were written on her, she sure cared about me.
The beasts charged with their horses with fire balls floating in the air after them, abandoning their flails and directed them at us while they continued charging. Ama muttered some words and thick vines sprouted from the ground and countered the balls, sets of fireballs fazed through the vines, still coming at us.
Ama fired arrows but they melted in contact with the fireball, I tried conjuring my fire balls but they didn't work, my blazing fire had almost died off that my charred skin could be seen.
The fireballs hit us but Ama dived and guided me with her body, the force of the blast pushed us away.
Ama groaned and staggered up but I was too weak to stand.
I might be Immortal but poison weakens my healing ability.
Ama stood protectively above me blood gushing out of her body which showed that she was badly wounded... And burned too.
The riders stopped in front of us.
"What are those creatures?"
I asked weakly as I watched the riders but Ama still held her ground even if she knew she was at a losing end, standing no chance against them.
"Those are the hell riders, technically immortal except a god banishes them from the human world, that's how they can be beaten"
Ama briefly explained, I opened my mouth in disbelief, no wonder the creatures were strong.
"Protector of the tress, The nymph of Goddess Artemis, stand aside or we shall have no choice than burn your soul in hell"
One of the hell riders stated as his fire intensity increased, it's hooded black jacket burning with it while it's flail stretched forth before it.
"It is my duty to protect this soul, I shall protect him or die trying!"
Ama spoke with a strong vigour, The beasts roared and they charged at us, Ama lept and fire three arrows at ones, the arrows morphed into vines and entwined theirselves on the hell riders but they burned on contact.
Ama crashed on the ground as one of the flails hit her in her jaw, she spitted out black blood... she had been poisoned.
She staggered up but one of the hell riders grabbed her and flung her on the floor, the other hell rider grabbed her and choked her, her quiver and bow falling off her shoulder, the third creature just stood at a spot, examining.
I tried to stand up to help her but I wasn't feeling my body because the poison had taken over my system.
"Noooo!!! Leave her alone!!!"
I pleaded weakly but they were too engrossed in their Pains they inflicted on Ama.
My mind drifted to Geoffrey, how the vampires had massacred him ruthlessly, the fire fighters that had lost their lives in a trick attempted by the wolves to Lure me out and a whole street that had lost their lives by the supernaturals.
Now I was gonna lose Ama who I had just seen after so many years... I can't lose her now... I must save her and avenge Geoffrey!
I must save Ama...
I felt myself healing from the poison, some flush of rage washed over me and I opened my eyes with anger, my veins ripped and I felt an overwhelming power engulf me.
Only a God could stop them and I am going to become one!
A renewed sense of blazing fire washed over me and I could feel my skin burn, I screamed put in aginru as I felt a piercing pain in my skull and two long horns grew from there.
I staggered up and I could see the hell riders move back in fear, leaving Ama.
My fingers burned and I could feel them harden and I felt stronger than I had ever been.
I felt anger, I felt fear, I felt hate... I felt Power!
