Chapter Nineteen

Kash sighed and faced her then said, "We are going to the library of magic."
"The library of magic? What is that?" Cassie asked as she settled down to hear.
"It's a library in the supernatural realm that contains different kind of magical books in the
whole world. It holds all the answers to the hardest questions. It has books that foretells the
future or takes one back in time. Things like that." Kash explained.
"Wow! And you think it would have an undoing spell?" She asked.
"I know it has an undoing spell." He smiled.
"I'm coming with you. I need to know more about that library, especially about the future and
the going back in time stuff sounded so cool." She squealed.
"Sure you can but you must be able to control the energy surrounding your powers before
then." He said.
"You are going to teach me tomorrow, so I have no complaints. I'm tired and sick of how Asher
is treating me." She said and he looked at her.
"Do you like Asher by any chance?" He asked. She looked up and their eyes met. He quickly
looked away and scolded himself mentally for asking such a stupid question.
"Why did you ask?" Cassie asked.
"I just wanted to know but it's fine if you don't wanna tell me." He said.
"Yes, I like Asher. Who wouldn't like Asher? He is nice, caring and understandable. On my first
day of school, he was the first guy that spoke to me. He was the first person that saw my ordeal
and volunteered willingly to help me control my powers. I remembered the first time I lost
control, and almost killed Lily, he risked his life to stop me. He stood by me when when I hurt
him and made him bleed, so yes, I like him." Cassie said and Kash sighed.
"He has been good to you then." Kash said. If only she knew that his father was after her.
"Yes he has until Lily ruined everything." Cassie said.
"Oh. Alright."
"Um... Kash, I remember something. Are you still gonna train me tomorrow? You know
tomorrow is our swimming class." Cassie said.
"Oh yeah. Are you gonna be swimming?" He asked.
"Yes. I love the water. I took swimming lessons when I was 12 years old, and I know I am pro."
She beat her chest confidently and he smiled.
"I guess I'll just watch you swim then." He said.
"Why? You're supposed to be swimming too." She said.
"I told you that I can't swim, remember?" He asked.
"Oh yeah! But, you haven't told me the reason why." She said.
"You really wanna know?" He asked.
"Of course! I wanna know." She answered.
"Alright. I'll tell you. I am from the water Kingdom." He said and she gasped.
"You're a merman?"
"Not really. We do have powers that mermen have. We can talk to animals, breathe under
water and many others. The only thing we don't have is a tail." He explained.
"Awesome! So, how is that gonna affect you if you swim?" She asked.
"It will because immediately I step into the water or immediately water comes in contact with
my body, I'll transform into my real self." He answered.
"So, this isn't your real self yet?" She asked.
"No, this isn't my real self. What you're seeing here is just a mirage." Kash said and she
gulped in. She wondered what the real Kash would look like. Will he be as handsome as he is
now or is he an ugly and freakish monster? She pressed her lips into a thin line as she thought
about all these.
"Hey! I'm not a sea monster." He said.
"Argh! Must you know everything I think of?" She asked.
"I can if I want." He smirked.
"Then, don't. Sheesh! It's creepy!" She snapped at him and he laughed. "But I'm bothered. If
you aren't a sea monster then what are you?" She asked.
"I'm just like this but my facial appearance is different." He said.
"Oh really?" She rubbed her temple as she thought hard of what he looked like. Is he gonna
be handsome? Is his face going to be perfect? What does he really look like? All these
questions ran inside her head and Kash chuckled. "Why are you chuckling?" She glared at him.
"Nothing really. You look funny when you think." He said and she poked his forehead.
"You're the one who looks funny, hmph!" She said and looked away with a pout.
Kash touched where she poked him and smiled.

Asher was still in the martial arts studio. According to him, he was training to become stronger
than Cassie. He wasn't going to let her beat him up twice.
Lily entered. He stopped what he was doing and smiled charmingly at her. Lily smirked to
herself. She can't remember the last time, Asher smiled at her like this.
"Hey, my love." She smiled as she walked up to him.
"You look really beautiful today." He said and wrapped his hands around her waist.
"So, you're saying that I am not beautiful other days, only today?" She pouted.
"Not at all. You're always beautiful but today, you look ravishing." He said and she bit her lips.
"You really think so?" She asked.
"I know so." He answered.
"Then, why don't you kiss me?" She requested.
"With pleasure." He said and pulled her closer. As he was about to kiss her, the door opened
and Crystal entered. She boiled in rage but masked it up with a smile.
"What are you two doing?" She asked as she approached them.
"Urgh! Can you just go away?" Lily snapped.
"No. I want to watch how you two are going to make out." She smirked even though she felt
like tearing Lily to shreds.
"Make out? Stop being naughty!" Lily snapped as her face turned red.
"You were about to kiss. What comes next after that?" Crystal asked.
"So, what is your business if I make out with the lady I love?" Asher asked and Lily smiled.
Crystal wanted to scream and yell at the top of her voice that he wasn't in love with her but
under a spell. She couldn't because that would put her in big trouble. She could feel her heart
throb in pain.
"Oh, sorry about that. But I am not leaving here." Crystal said and sat down.
"If you aren't leaving, then we'll just leave the place for you." Lily said.
"I'm coming with you guys." Crystal said and stood up. No way is she going to allow Lily kiss
Asher. Vampires get turned on easily and it Lily should arouse Asher, he might mark her without
him knowing, and that would be bad news for her.
"Fine then." Lily snapped and stormed out. Crystal smiled and turned to face Asher who
glared at her. She smiled nervously and left.
***
After school that day, Cassie and Kash walked home together.
"So, you have your own place." Cassie said.
"Yeah. I'll just escort you home and go back." He said.
"I was thinking if you could stay for dinner before leaving." She requested.
"I_"
"Don't you dare say no." She said with a glare and he sighed.
"Whatever you say, princess." He bowed and she laughed.
There was an awkward silence for a while before Cassie broke it. "So, if we are having
swimming classes tomorrow, what are you gonna do?" She asked.
"I'm gonna watch you swim." He said.
"You're going to watch me swim?" She asked.
"Yeah. Why are you suddenly acting nervous?" He asked with a smirk.
'Why won't I act nervous when I'm going to be the only one you'll be watching. I'm nervous!
Really nervous.' She thought and Kash laughed.
"Don't tell me you read my mind." She facepalmed.
"Okay. I won't tell you." He said.
"You know, Kash. I need privacy too. You can't keep hearing every of my thoughts." She
complained.
"If you want me to stop hearing your thoughts, then stop thinking." He said and she gasped.
"That's absolutely impossible!" She snapped and he laughed.
"Well, I'm sorry but there is nothing I can do about that." He said.
"Don't say that. There is something you can do." She said and he stopped then turned to face
her.
"What is that?" He asked, looking intently at her.
Cassie played with the ropes on her backpack while she thought of something. "You could
stop listening... Like, you could block or close your ears." She suggested.
"How do you expect me to do that?" He asked.
"Like this," She stood on her tippy toes and held his ears then closed them before letting them
go. "You could do that," She said and he burst into laughter. "Why are you laughing at me?" She
asked with a glare.
"Because you look funny when you stand on your tippy toes. Besides, closing my ears like that
won't work. Your thoughts are like mine, so tell me how I can stop hearing it." Kash said and
laughed again.
"Urgh! This is frustrating. What am I gonna do about this?" She asked.
"You could continue thinking and I'll continue hearing. That's the only way out." He said.
"That doesn't sound like a solution." She said.
"Great! I didn't know that you were this smart." He teased.
"What? Did you think that I was a dummy before?" She asked with a playful frown.
"Yes." He answered.
"Wait! Are you serious right now?" She asked.
"You couldn't solve a simple math equation so I figured that out." He answered with a smirk.
'Does this guy know that he is talking to a princess?' She asked within herself.
"I know you're a Princess. No need to brag." He said and ran away.
"Hey! Stop there. I'll get you for this!" She laughed and ran after him.
