Chapter Twenty Eight

"Oh, I'm so going to kíll Lily with my bare hands." Asher snapped and walked out.
Kash turned to face Cassie. "Why did you tell him no when what you wanted to say was yes?" Kash asked.
"I can't show him that I forgive him just like that." She answered.
"But you know that it wasn't his fault." Kash said.

"Yeah. I just want him to feel bad a little, so that next time, he wouldn't trust someone that easily. She almost took him away from me. Imagine if he had marked her, I would have lost Asher... forever. The thought alone is giving me the chills." Cassie said and walked out.
Kash just watched her. He sighed and followed her out.
Meanwhile, Asher was looking around for Lily but he wasn't able to find her. He decided to go and see his father first. He pushed open the door and entered then stormed to his father's table.
Mr. Rayner looked up from what he was doing and met Asher's angry eyes. "Son, what is it? Why is your face like this?" He asked.
"It is disgusting to hear you call me "son." I've been under a spell all this while but you never cared to break it." Asher said.
"So, that's why you were acting strange lately. I thought you had returned to the Asher I know." Mr. Rayner said.
"You thought wrong. You were blinded by your selfish interest that you didn't care to know why I was acting like a lunàtic. What a great father you are!" Asher mocked.
"Don't say that. I am your father and I want the best for you."
"What kind of a "good father" uses his child for his own gain huh? Because of Lily and your carelessness, I hurt Cassie. I hurt her when I was the one that swore to protect her. Because of you guys, she is angry at me," Asher said, his voice cracking like he wants to cry. "I feel so terrible. I can't forgive myself for this. I even tried to mark Lily." He wept.
"You what?! A witch! How did it go that far?" Mr. Rayner asked in a shocked tone.
"You should have known if you had played your role as a father." With that said, he stood up and left the office.
Immediately he stepped out, he came face to face with Lily. Anger built up inside him and he felt like tèaring her to shreds.
Lily walked up to him with a smile on her face. "Asher, where have you been? I have been looking everywhere for you? And, why do you look so sad?" She asked but he didn't answer. "Is it because we weren't able to finish what we started? Come on, let's disappear to a place that no one can find." She said and was about to hold him but he slapped her hands off.
"You! You witch!" He yelled and slapped her.
Lily fell on the floor and students gathered to watch what happened. Cassie and Kash came to the scene.
Lily looked at his eyes and they were back to their normal colour. That was when she realized that the spell she put on him had been broken. She gulped down in fear and moved back.
"How could you do such a thing? Why did you take advantage of me?" He asked as he walked closer to her while she moved back with her butt. Crystal, Zeeva and Stella ran and pulled her up.
"Asher, you're getting it all wrong." She said.
"Getting it all wrong, you say? After tricking me into accepting a drink that changed me? Is that what I'm getting wrong?" He yelled again and she flinched.
"I'm sorry." She pleaded.
"Today is your end." He said and was about to grab her but his father pulled him back.
"Asher, what is wrong with you?" His father asked.
"Let go of me! You all are very selfish. Why did you try to ruin my life?" He snapped at Lily again.
"Put yourself together, Asher."
"If you know the kind of pain I'm going through now, you wouldn't be telling me to put myself together. Why? Just tell me why?" He asked.
"Calm down," Mr. Rayner said. "Hey! All of you, leave at once! There is nothing to see here." He said to the students and they murmured before leaving for class, wondering why Asher behaved that way today.
"And you, if I ever see you 10ft close to me, I'll roàst you alive." Asher said. He looked at Cassie but she looked away. That action alone broke his heart. He bent his head and walked away.
Lily used her hand to wipe the blood that came out of her mouth when Asher slapped her.
"How does it feel to taste your own blood, Lily." Cassie scoffed.
"Mind your damn business,. Cassie! That way, you'll live longer." Lily said.
"I think that advice should be directed to who it may concern. You. Anyways, I'm not satisfied with that slap. You need something more severe to teach you not to go for what is not yours." Cassie said.
Lily scoffed and left.
"What are you planning to do?" Kash asked.
"Nothing." She said and left.

"So, you mean that Cassie is in possession of King Amon and Queen Xena's souls?" Queen Roanna asked.
"Yes."
"And if the souls are taken away, what happens?" King Harven asked.
"She dies?" Roxy asked and they glared at her.
"Whoa! No body is dying. I didn't come to tell you all so you can assume she was going to die someday. I came so you can know what is going on with your daughter." Aunt Maggie said.
"Sorry, we panicked." Queen Roanna said.
"What about the book? Can we see it?" King Harven asked.
"As one of the royal advisers, permit me to answer that question, your majesty." Samuel said.
"Permission granted." King Harven said.
"It would be bad news to take the book from it's natural place. If the book chose to stay on that center table, it would be wise to leave it there. Taking it from there will bring bad news. Also, you are not allowed to visit the human world, remember?" Samuel asked.
"Yeah, we almost forgot." Queen Roanna sighed.
"I think we need to summon Medusa." King Harven said and Medusa appeared.
"Whatever she said was correct," Medusa said. "Your majesties." She bowed.
"You're welcome, Medusa." King Harven said as she sat down on the floor.
"The book was once about the legend of Amon and Xena before it rephrased into Kash and Cassie. They are the owners of their own story and it's up to them to give it a happy ending, like Maggie rightly said." Medusa explained.
"You knew? Why didn't you tell us?" Queen Roanna asked.
"Not everyone is aware of the story of Amon and Xena. Telling you when Cassie hadn't found out by herself is chaotic. Congratulations, your daughter, the heiress, our princess is a half Irish and half demon." Medusa said.
"Are we supposed to be happy?" Queen Roanna asked.
"As far as she has the purest of souls beside her, she should be fine." Medusa said.
"That's a relief then." Queen Roanna said.
"Maggie, how is her training going?" King Harven asked.
"Kash is doing great in tutoring her. She can control her temper for now." Aunt Maggie answered.
"We hope she continues to control it at all times. You know, there are some things that people can't help but get angry at. Cassandra, included." Roxy said.
Aunt Maggie rolled her eyes. "Seriously, who chose this lady as one of the royal advisers?" She asked and Roxy chuckled.
"Ignore her. She is always the blunt type." Queen Roanna waved it off.

After school, Kash followed Cassie to make sure she isn't gonna try anything stúpid.
"Come on, Kash. I'm not gonna do anything." She said as she hung her bag on one shoulder.
"Not when you're thinking of visiting Lily tonight." Kash said.
Cassie turned to face him. "Can you stop listening to my thoughts?" She asked.
"I told you that your thoughts are mine as well. No matter how I try to not listen, I hear it in my head." Kash said.
"Then why can't I hear yours?" She asked.
"That... I don't know." Kash answered.
Cassie facepalmed. "I'm not gonna kill her, I'll just teach her a few lessons." She said.
"I'm gonna come with you then." He said.
"No." She answered and walked away.

Lily just finished taking a shower and out on her pajamas. Yeah, she was staying alone. Her mother had asked Crystal to come stay with her but she refused, giving the excuse that she wasn't a kid and can do "excellently" well on her own.
She took a phone and surfed the internet for a while. She yawned and stood up to visit the kitchen for a snack when all the lights in her room came off.
"Urgh! Seems like there is a power outage," She said but then thunder struck and she flinched. "What is going on?" She looked around the room and gasped when her eyes caught something in the shadows. "Who is there?" She asked with a shaky voice as she stated memorizing a spell in her head.
The person came out and she gasped.
"You!" She exclaimed.
"Hi, why don't we have some fun!"
