Chapter Twenty Nine

"Hi, why don't we have some fun?" Cassie said with a mischievous smie plastered on her face.
Lily gasped and moved back when Cassie brought water balls from her hands. "What are you doing here? Don't you have manners? Breaking into other people's houses and invading their privacy?" She asked.
Cassie threw her head back and laughed. "Did I just hear you say, privacy? Since when do you care about privacies getting invaded, huh?" Cassie asked, taking slow steps towards Lily, who moved back. "Casting a love potion spell on Asher and controlling him, then trying to trick him into marking you and making you his mate sounds like invasion of privacy to me." Cassie said.
"So, this is all about Asher." Lily muttered and Cassie scoffed.
"I told you that I wasn't satisfied with what happened to you, so I'm here to lend a helping hand. It is very necessary to help someone in need, right?" Cassie flashed her a smile.
"Cassie, stay away from me. Don't come any closer, else I'll turn you into a frog." Lily threatened as she started chanting a spell in her head.
Cassie rolled the balls and threw them but Lily was fast enough to dodge. Cassie smiled, and threw another one. Lily dodged that as well.
"You're pretty good at dodging stuff." Cassie complimented with a charming smile.
"Yeah, so you have a lot to learn. Know how to aim right, and_"
Lily's words were interrupted by a water ball which flew and hit her mouth. She snapped her head up and glared daggers at Cassie.
"What? You were talking too much, so I had to shut you up. What better way than hitting your big mouth?" Cassie mocked.
"Look Cassie, I don't care who you are or wherever you're from. I don't give a damn on whether you're the most powerful or not. Get out of my room, else I'll call the cops on you." Lily threatened, pointing her index finger at Cassie.
“Ooh! I'm so scared. Please, don't call the cops,” Cassie whined in a mocking tone. “I won't get out of here till you're dealt with. No one messes with Asher and goes scot free."
“What's with you and Asher? It's not that he like you.“ Lily said with a bit of annoyance.
“He doesn't like you either.“ Cassie said.
“Then, what is the need for all these?“ Lily asked and just as Cassie was about to answer, she threw a crystal ball at her but Cassie dodged. “Impressive!“ She smirked and threw another one while Cassie kept dodging them.
Cassie rolled a ball in her hands and threw it at Lily. It hit her and she stumbled backwards. She held her stomach, and glared at Cassie. She stood up in anger and threw another one at Cassie but Cassie turned it against her and it hit her instead.
"Aren't you gonna stand up? Don't you wanna show me how powerful you are?" Cassie mocked.
"Wait till I take over my mother's throne. I will make life hèll for you." Lily said, cleaning blood from her mouth with the back of her hands.
Cassie chuckled. "You aren't the only heiress in the world, you know. I could wipe you out of existence if I wanted to, but if I do, who am I gonna bûlly, huh?" She raised Lily's chin up and laughed. "You've always acted like you own the world just because your mother is the queen of the witches. Behind that strength you claim to have is a weakling."
"I will hear no more words from you, Cassie. Why are you meddling into what isn't your business? Asher can take care of himself. He is a vampire and a man! You can't continue fighting for him when it's unnecessary." Lily blurted out.
"I'm not fighting for him. I'm just teaching good for nothing bitçhes like you how to behave yourselves." Cassie said.
"I will make sure you pay for all these." Lily snapped.
"And, I will be more than glad to pay." With that said, Cassie raised her up and taught her a valuable lesson. She made sure to leave marks on her body and just as she was about to hit Lily again, Kash interrupted them.
"Cassie!" He called and rushed to hold Lily up, but Cassie dragged him from her.
"I told you not to follow me." Cassie snapped at him.
"I'm glad I did. Do you want to kill her? Come on!" Kash said.
"She deserves whatever she gets." Cassie said.
"Yeah, but you went overboard. Look at her!" Kash pointed to Lily who laid on the floor like a lifeless body.
Cassie hissed and disappeared. Kash wanted to follow her, but Lily whimpered and started gasping for breath. "Lily?" He rushed to her. She couldn't talk and her breathing was unstable. He rushed and brought water then splashed it on her but it didn't work. He ruffled his hair and groaned.
"Why must I be the one to do this?" He asked no one in particular. He hugged her and vapor emanated from his body, and surrounded them. Her tensed body calmed down and her breathing stabilized. Her eyes snapped open and met that of Kash. She stared at him as tears dropped from her eyes.
"You are her guardian. Why did you save me?" She asked.
"Because it is the right thing to do." He said and disengaged from the hug.
Lily stood up and checked her body. Although the bruises were still visible, she couldn't feel any pain.
"You_"
"I couldn't heal you completely but I took your pain away. Goodnight!" He said and didn't wait for her to say anything before leaving.
Lily touched the bruises and expected to feel pain but didn't. "He took the pain away? How is that even possible?" She muttered to herself and headed for the bathroom.
***
Cassie appeared back in her room, and met Aunt Maggie waiting for her with folded arms.
"Where are you coming from, young lady?" Aunt Maggie asked.
"Aunt, I went to… um… test my powers." She said,
"Oh really? Where is Kash?"
"Huh?"
"Where is Kash? If you went to test your powers, then Kash should be with you. After all, he is your guardian and shouldn't let you go out alone, especially at night." Aunt Maggie said and Cassie pressed her lips together.
"Well… Kash is_" She couldn't finish her statement as Kash appeared.
"Kash! Thank goodness you're back," Cassie ran to meet him. "I'm telling Aunt Maggie that I went out to test my powers, but she isn't believing me." Cassie pouted and held him.
"You went to test your powers?" Kash asked.
"Stop acting like you don't know what I am talking about. Come on, Kash, tell her." Cassie pushed Kash to Aunt Maggie.
"So?" Aunt Maggie said,
"She… umm…" Kash paused as he remembered his father's words. 'Guardians are supposed to be responsible for whatever the ones they are guiding does. And if by any chance, who they are guiding does something wrong, they aren't expected to cover it up with lies. The day they do that, the title would be taken away and someone else would take over.'
"I'm listening, Kash." Aunt Maggie said.
"She used her powers, but she got naughty, so I stopped her." Kash answered.
"What did she do?" Aunt Maggie asked and Cassie gulped.
"Aunt, I_"
"Allow Kash to talk, Cassie." Aunt Maggie interrupted.
"You don't need to worry, your majesty. Everything is fine now," Kash assured, but Aunt Maggie wasn't satisfied. "Trust me, everything is handled. Do I smell something burning?" Kash asked and Aunt Maggie gasped.
"Oh my gosh! The casserole!" She faced Cassie. "Stay out of trouble!" With that said, she ran out of the room.
"Crisis averted!" Cassie said and jumped on her bed. "You can get out of my room now."
"Oh, yeah! Goodnight." He bowed and disappeared.

THE NEXT DAY
Lily walked into the school, wearing a hoodie. The weather was friendly, so students didn't get why she dressed like that. They could only murmur and not dare say a word.
"Why are you dressed like this?" Stella asked as they walked past Cassie, who was taking out books from her locker.
Lily snorted and glared at Cassie. "Long story. I would have been dead by now, but I'm alive and it's all thanks to Kash." Lily said.
"What happened?" Zeeva asked.
"Cassie almost killed me last night. Just because, I took control of Asher's mind."
"What is wrong with her? Is she cràzy or something?" Stella asked.
"She is a lunàtic! I am not done with her yet. I'll get my revenge." Lily said and walked away, while the rest followed.
.
Cassie closed her locker, and wanted to leave but bumped into Asher. Her books fell and he bent to help her pick them.
"Can we talk, please?" He asked as he handed over her books to her.
"We have nothing to talk about." She answered and was about to leave but he held her.
"Please, just for five minutes." He pleaded.
"Fine! Five minutes and no more." She said and followed him out. They got to the school garden and Asher faced her.
"I want to apologise for everything I did to you. Please, forgive me. I wasn't in control of my thoughts and actions. Cassie, please forgive me." He pleaded.
Cassie could see the sincerity but she wanted to teach him a lesson. "I thought you were calling me for something important, not knowing that it was this cràp."
"For real, Cassie. I'm sorry, really really sorry."
"I'm leaving." She said and turned to leave, but he dragged her back and hugged her.
"I'm sorry. Your anger is kílling me."
