Chapter Nine
"Isn't it obvious? I'm here to stop you." Kash said.
Asher and Mr. Rayner exchanged glances. "Stop me from doing what?" He asked.
"You're well aware of what I mean, Rayner." Kash said.
"Hey! You don't call me by my name, I am your Principal and should be accorded due respect." Mr. Rayner snapped.
"Respect?" Kash chuckled. "You can call yourself a Principal but you aren't acting like one. You are only acting like the villain you are." He said and Asher gasped.
"Do you know it's my dad you're talking to like that?" Asher asked. He was annoyed.
"Have you asked "your dad" why he wants Cassie's powers so bad?" Kash asked and Asher looked at his father.
"What are you talking about?" Mr. Rayner asked, avoiding Asher's gaze.
"Well, I came to do what other human beings do when they get admission. My locker key and class card please." Kash requested, ignoring his question.
Mr. Rayner sighed and gave him what he wanted. Kash looked at the class card that was given to him and discovered that it was CLASS C. He knew that Cassie was in CLASS B. If they were in different classes, how was he going to protect her?
"I can't stay in Class C." He said.
"Why?" Mr. Rayner asked.
"Because I don't want to. Change it, please." He requested.
"I am changing nothing. Go to the class that I have assigned to you." Mr. Rayner said.
"I'm not the type of person that batter words. I don't talk, I just do." He said and a card with Class B written on it flew out of Mr. Rayner's locker and he grabbed it.
"You_"
"Thanks." He smiled and left.
Mr. Rayner hit his desk angrily. "He is as annoying as his father."
"Dad, how come you two know each other and I haven't seen him before?" Asher asked.
"His father is the king of the water Kingdom." Mr. Rayner said.
"You mean that he is King Tairus son?" Asher asked.
"Yes. King Tairus last son and the most annoying there is. I hate his guts! You must get rid of him, Asher." Mr. Rayner said.
Asher's eyes widened. "What?! Dad! How can you say a thing like that? Please, don't say it again. It's absurd!" Asher snapped.
"I am serious, Asher. If that brat is here, we won't be able to carry out our plans on that girl. He is from a family of guardians, and there is no doubt that he was sent here to protect her." He said.
"But dad, I don't wanna kill him." Asher said.
"Don't tell me that you're scared of him. You are part of the Blazing Fire Clan, no vampire is as strong as we are. He is just a guardian, killing him should be a piece of cake for you." He said.
"But, I still don't understand. What do you need Cassie for? Does it have anything to do with the throne of pure magic?" He asked.
Mr. Rayner paused for a while. "Yes, it has something to do with the throne of pure magic. Look, you don't know the kind of powers that girl possess as the heiress. If we can take that power from her and rule, we'll become unstoppable." Mr. Rayner said and laughed.
"Taking her powers is synonymous to killing her, dad." Asher said.
"No! She won't die." His father defended.
"Dad, I am not a kid that you can lie to anymore. I am not new to Supernaturals and their powers, not at all. Draining power out of a supernatural being can kill them." Asher said.
"So, what if she dies, we've gotten what we wanted. She has nothing to live for then."
"Why are you sounding like it means nothing?" Asher asked.
"Because it means nothing," Mr. Rayner laughed. "Now, prepare yourself so that you can get rid of that brat."
Asher stood up and left the office.
"I must have her powers at all costs. She is the only ticket I have to acquire an unquestionable power and nothing can stop it, not even her damn parents." He muttered and smirked.

Kash returned to the class and went to sit beside Cassie again.
"I got a key to my locker and I'm in this class." He said.
Cassie looked at his hands. She felt relieved that he was in her class because she couldn't stand not seeing this face even for a day. She scolded herself inwardly. What if he is evil and is only trying to trick her? She wasn't going to fall for that.
"Okay. Won't you go get a seat for yourself? You know, this one belongs to my friend, Crystal. It's empty because she isn't in school today." Cassie said.
"Why don't I be a substitute for her today?" He asked.
She wanted to say yes immediately but controlled herself.
"No, you don't have to." She said.
"So, you don't want me to act as a substitute for your friend?" He asked and pouted his lips.
Cassie bit her lips so hard. Is he trying to seduce her or what? "Alright. You can be her substitute for today." She said and he smiled.
The girls in the class stared at Cassie with both hatred and jealousy. They don't understand why the cute guy would leave pretty and sèxy ladies like them and go for a strange girl whom nobody understands. First, it was Asher, now this cute guy. They suspected that she might have used something on them.

THE CAFETERIA*
Kash followed Cassie to the cafeteria and she collected food for both of them. She set it on the table and they sat down. Kash looked at the food, this was totally different from what he use to eat back in his kingdom.
Cassie noticed that he wasn't eating and asked, "Why aren't you eating?" She asked.
He looked at her and answered, "It doesn't look tasty. I'm not used to food like this."
"What! Did you come from the desert or what? Who wouldn't like rice and chicken soup?" She teased. "Stop joking around and eat." She said.
Kash sighed and picked up a spoon. He looked at it then back at the plate. Watching how Cassie ate hers, he put the spoon in and took a little then put it in his mouth. He analyzed the taste before chewing it.
Meanwhile, Lily and her followers stood at a corner watching everything.
"I heard that he is the new guy." Stella said.
"He's cute." Zeeva commented, staring at him lustfully.
"Yes, he is. I also heard that he is more handsome than Asher." Stella said.
"Is that why he went to meet that witch? Sometimes, I wonder if she has casted a spell on them." Lily said.
"She isn't a witch, you know." Zeeva said.
"Yeah, she isn't. She is something more than that." Lily smirked.
"I don't understand where you're driving at." Zeeva said.
Lily pulled her close and whispered something into her ears.
"Do you think that it would work?" Stella asked.
"How did you hear that? I whispered it to Zeeva." Lily frowned.
"You didn't whisper, dear. It was more like shouting on top of the mountain for me." Stella said.
"Screw your ears, Stella!" Lily snapped and walked away.
Meanwhile, Kash was kind of enjoying the meal. It didn't taste as bad as he had perceived.
"Do you like it?" Cassie asked.
He stopped eating and looked at her. "Yes, it's delicious."
"I'm glad you like it. There are more where that came from." She said.
"Oh, thanks." He smiled politely.
He saw a stain at the side of her lips and wanted to clean it but stopped. He wasn't supposed to touch her unless she gives her consent. He cleared his throat and continued looking at it. She turned to look at him and he looked away.
"Were you staring at me?" She asked.
He cleared his throat. "No, I wasn't." He answered.
"But, I saw you. I literally caught you staring." She chuckled.
"I wasn't. I was looking at the stain at the side of your lips." He said and she touched it.
"Why didn't you tell me?" She whined.
"It would look disrespectful." He did and she glared at him.
"You're not a gentleman at all. What sort of a guy sees stain on a lady's lips and wouldn't clean it, huh? Are you from the olden days or something?" She ranted, while using a napkin to clean it.
Kash was confused. "Are you saying that if I see a stain next time, I should clean it?" He asked.
"Yeah, be a gentleman." She said and he smiled.
Asher stood at a corner watching them with his fists clenched. He couldn't understand why he gets angry whenever he sees Kash with her. He left the cafeteria and headed for the martial arts studio.

THE UNDERWORLD*
There were screams coming from different directions. It looked like hell and it felt like the devil's abode. There was a dark throne in the middle with a man on it. He looked hideous and if one wasn't careful, you would mistake him for the devil. He isn't always that hideous, it just depends on the look he wants to go with.
He smiled at the screams of the people being tortured and felt powerful. Their worst fear was his greatest strength.
Suddenly, someone appeared and he smiled while setting his eyes on her.
"Mia, what brings you here?" He asked.
