"You are so beautiful" Carter said after a moment.
Kim choked on her food and he passed her water.
"Take care" he said with a smile.
He knew his words caught her unawares and he felt good about it. He was really attracted to her the very first time he saw her. Ever since their first encounter he wanted to know more and get acquainted to her.
"Thanks" she murmured.
She didn't stop stuffing her mouth with food.
"You seem shock with my word?" He said taking a bite from the snack he held.
Kim smiled at him.
"I'm not shocked" she denied.
"What a baloney" he joked and laughed. "You are blushing Kim" he mocked.
Kim dashed him a glare.
"No I'm not" she snapped.
She quickly put her empty palm on her cheek as if to feel her blush.
He burst into laughter that everyone around look at him. They wondered what made him laughed out so loud.
"Why are you so loud?" Kim grumbled and buried her face down to eat more food.
She really regretted coming for this lunch. She seems to be the attracting point today and Carter wasn't helping matters. He was making their little lunch a big attention.
"You are so cute" he said with a loud smile.
He touched her head the bracing her hair on her forehead behind her ears. Kim shrinked a bit trying to move away from his touch. She didn't know when they became so close that he now touch her. She didn't like his effontary. Even her conscience was already scolding her.
"Get your hands off her!" A voice resonance in the whole room.
There was total silence in the whole room. Nothing moved neither anyone spoke. It was like he pressed a pause.
Kim sworn beneath as she looked back to see Jeff's very angry face.
"I'm so dead" she thought with alarm.
Jeff never visits the cafe since they have their own special restaurant and special chef which attends to them.
So everyone wondered what brought him. Those who know who Kim was didn't even think it to be because of Kim been that she's always had lunch at the cafe.
"Jeff it's not what you think" she quickly explained with a thought.
Carter was so surprised at what his big boss said. He was so confused. He didn't know what touching her has to do with him.
"What's his?" He thought in his heart.
He looked at Kim and discovered fear in her eyes. This made him more confused.
"Are they having an affair?" He thought.
He didn't think Kim to be such a lady that sleeps with bosses just to pave way for herself to the top.
"What's happening?" He whispered to Kim.
Kim didn't even reply she just looked at Jeff with an apologetic look.
Jeff moved closer.
"How dare you touch her!" Jeff said looking at Carter with so much disgust.
"Sir.. I... I.. " Carter was lost for words.
He didn't even have anything to say to defend himself. Even though he didn't know what is Jeff's business, he still didn't want to offend the big boss.
Kim quickly moved closer to Jeff and held his hand gently. She looked at him pitifully. She didn't know he could get so angry at just seeing another man touch her.
"Baby he didn't know who I am" she thought trying to persuade him.
Jeff snorted at the sudden endearment. He knew she was just trying to persuade him. This didn't stop him from glaring at Carter.
Carter's head was bowed. He wouldn't dare look at him. He still didn't know what he did wrong but he still had to bowed to higher authority but was more suprised when Kim moved closer and took Jeff's hand.
He was so taken aback that he looked at Kim's hand that held Jeff. And then to her eyes as she looked up at him with a loving eyes.
"Stay away from her" Jeff warned with a ferocious look.
Those around who had nothing to do with what was happening wouldn't even dare move. Those who were eating came to a stop and wouldn't dare raise a spoon. They just watch and was expecting the outburst that will happen next.
Jeff pulled Kim closer and put his hands round her waist. Everyone was suprised at this public show of love.
Kim widen her look at him. She thought he didn't want people at work to know they were couples but this was telling otherwise.
"I was looking for you so we could have lunch" he whinned like a little child.
He was really cute with the look of a child that was denied a candy. This look made Kim forget the crowd around them and smile.

Jeff shook his head.
" Speak out or people will think I'm mad" he said softly.
It was then Kim realised her mistake and smiled. She was really used to speaking with him through her thoughts when people were near or around.
"I'm sorry I already made plans with Carter and I didn't want to go back on my words" she explained.
