"I'm sorry I already made plans with Carter and I didn't want to go back on my words" she explained.
" Let's go"
Jeff said when he saw that he has passed his message well enough.
Kim didn't argue with him. She glanced at Carter who was looking at them sadly and followed her husband who didn't even release her waist but held it with one hand.
Just as they disappeared from everyone's sight, they begin to talk at once. The cafe was so noisy. Carter sat down defeatedly. He didn't even know what he will do.
He has heard of bosses snatching their staff's woman but now he felt like it just happened to him. He felt helpless.
"Didn't you know who she is?" One of his colleagues asked him.
Carter looked up at her.
" That she is going out with him?" He asked in ire.
He was very angry that Kim was taken away by Jeff.
"Why is it that those rich folks always want to take away the good things and leave us leftovers" he added without waiting for reply.
" She's not going out with him" she said looking at him with pity.
She knew that Carter has gotten himself into loving the wrong woman. He being also a very good looking man himself, so he was also dotted on among the ladies. He do feel that there's nothing he couldn't get but this incident was a shocker to him.
He would be so dumb to want to compete with a Devikings. Jeff is his boss in all ways. He couldn't compare himself with him but he wasn't ready to back down.
"Then what's that all about?" He asked.
He was glaring at the poor lady as if she's the cause of everything.
The lady laughed at his naivety.
"Are you pretending or you don't really know?" She asked mockingly.
Carter was getting so vexed at her words. He felt she was just there to mock him.
"If you have something to say, say it. If not get the hell out of my sight" he yelled irascibly.
Everybody looked at him and begin to talk.
"You are only getting paranoid Carter" she said as she shiver at the coldness in his voice.
Carter eyed her and begin to walk away.
"She is his wife" she called at his back.
That made him came to an halt. He then looked at her in shock.
"What did you say?"
The lady gave him a pitiful smile. She then moved closer to him.
"You don't really know?" She seems suprised at his ignorance.
Carter shook his head and sworn.
She brought out her phone, then logged in to the internet to show him from their wedding news to the very last video which showed them kissing.
Carter was so pained in his heart. He felt so defeated.
"Poor boy" the lady said and patted his shoulder before walking back to her friends.
Everyone gave him a sympathetic look and this made Carter sad. He was really angry at his ignorance. He just walked out of the cafe sadly.
When Jeff and Kim back got to the office, Barb looked at them but didn't give much thought to both of them returning back together since they are couples. Kim wanted to sit at her corner but Jeff stopped her.
"To my office" he said bossily.
Kim raised a brow. She knew he was angry so she didn't refute his command.
"What was that all about?" He said immediately he got in.
Kim sighed. She knew this couldn't be avoided and needed to be talked about. She just wished he wouldn't misjudged her.
"It's not what you think. It's just an harmless lunch" she explained.
" And he dares to sit so close?" He said jealously.
" He didn't know I was married?" She said softly.
" And you didn't tell him?" He frowned.
"This is the first time we would sit to talk and I was going to tell him but you came and wouldn't let me" she explained. " Moreover, this wouldn't have happened if I have my wedding ring on" she added mocking.
Jeff knew he was guilty with that. But then as he is, he wouldn't accept defeat.
" Do you expect me to keep calm when he is touching you" he said with a childish frown.
Kim smiled and then blinked her eyes severally.
" You look so cute when you whine" she grumbled.
" What!" He said like he is suprised and then smiled at the way she blinked her eyes like a baby doll.
She is really making him loose his stern self in just short period even with the way he tried to avoid her.
Kim moved closer and kissed his lips. She was intending to just give him a very brief kiss but he wrapped his hands round her and deepened the kiss.
After a while, he released her. Her beautiful face was flushed and it really made him want more but he couldn't.
"Let's go have lunch with the rest of the family" he said still looking at her lips.
" Is mum here?"
Kim knew no one will come up with such idea except for her mother in-law. She really loves her family to be together.
Jeff nodded.

Kim was called out by her friend. Renny refused to visit her house, even though Kim tried to persuade her, she wouldn't budge. Kim sensing the sadness in Renny's voice hurried to her house.
"Good afternoon" she greeted the housekeeper.
" Afternoon ma'am" the housekeeper bowed in greeting.
" How have you been? It's been a while" Kim asked with a smile.
" I've been good and I see that you've been good too ma'am " she replied returning her smile.
" Sure" Kim nodded with a bright smile.
Everyone who knows her before knew she is more than good. She is so blessed.
" Where is my friend?"
"In her room".
"Thanks."
Kim headed there straight.
Renny has refused to leave her room ever since she was compelled to go work for Carl. She was so angry and equally sad. She really wished she could turn back the hands of time. She would have not followed her mother for that job. Now Carl has her life in his hands to direct. She really hate the guy.
Kim opened the door to see Renny still on her PJ. Her hair was scattered and even her things were all over the floor. This got Kim so scared wondering what could have happened.
Renny raised her head to see who came in without a knock then she saw Kim. She ran to her and hugged her tight.
