Renny raised her head to see who came in without a knock then she saw Kim. She ran to her and hugged her tight.
"Kim" she called like a whisper.
"Renny" she called astonishly.
The only time Kim has seen her like this was when she lost a national tennis game.
Renny wouldn't recover from that loss because it was with so much shame losing to a newbie. She wouldn't come out of the house for weeks.
Kim even in her tight schedule came to console her. It was then she cheered up a bit and then went to school.
It took her months before she could fully recover from the shame. Just thinking of this got Kim scared. She knew how hard it is for Renny to recover from a pain. Then she wondered if she lost another game. But then it isn't time to play games.
"What happened?" She asked.
She released herself from the tight hug and then pulled her to the bed. She was sure that there wasn't any game going on for her to assume that she lost again.
"I'm so doomed" Renny said palely.
"No you ain't. Nothing is worth your pain dear. Just be strong" she encouraged.
Before Kim's mentality was that the rich do not experience pain because they have all the money to get what they need. Not until recent she discovered that there were lot of things money cannot buy.
"No Kim you don't understand" she said with tears glittering in her blue eyes.
Kim's heart broke at the sight of her gathering tears. She brought out her handkerchief.
Renny was one of the people that have her joy and make life more bearable for her so she wouldn't see her in pain and be fine.
"Don't cry dear. Nothing is worth your tears" she said sweetly with a stiff smile.
Renny nodded as Kim mobbed her tears that slide down her chubby cheek.
"So tell me what's wrong?" She asked.
"Carl" Renny said in gritted teeth.
Just calling his name made her so angry. She felt like to break his neck.
Kim gave a very confused look. She didn't seem to understand what she said because her words were not clear.
"I don't get you"
Renny sighed.
"I said Carl" she repeated.
She was getting more angry the more she call his name. That's her tormentor and his image is running round her head. She was so angry to have to think about him.
"Carl?" Kim asked.
She seem not to know why the name came up or who bear the name and what the name has got to do with her.
"Yes I really hate that name" Renny said in ire.
" Why? And who bares that?" She asked naively.
Not that she forgot that she has someone bearing the name but she didn't think of an instance when the two met talk more of the two have so much issues that made her friend like an angry Lion.
Moreover to her, the Carl she knows doesn't have time to talk to strangers talk more of having a fight with them.
Renny glared at Kim. She thought she was pretending not to know.
"Don't you know Carl again?" She snapped.
"Don't be angry at my naivity. I don't think I know who you are talking about. The only Carl I know is Carl Devikings, my brother in-law" she said with a genuine look.
" And he is exactly the one I'm talking about" breathed Renny.
Her anger was so evident in her eyes. Kim knew she wasn't angry at her but at Carl.
"Are you sure?" She was so astounded that she look at her in disbelief.
Kim didn't know what transcended between them but she has never seen Carl mean. He is even barely around for anyone one to go against. She wasn't sure Renny knew what she was talking about.
"Do you have another brother in-law bearing Carl?" She shouted now directing her anger to Kim.
She didn't know why she seem not to believe her.
Kim quickly shook her head.
"I'm sorry it's just that I was wondering where you two met and had such a great issue that got you like this" she apologized.
" We met a couple of times" she replied.
" And you didn't tell me?" Kim said like she angry too.
" It's not what you think" she said almost in a whisper.
Kim gave her friend and encouraging smile. She thought Carl took interest in her friend and then dumped her when he was through with her. She really pitied her friend being that she has a very fragile heart.
If Renny had mentioned Alec in this type of situation, she wouldn't be surprised but then Carl, it was still baffling but she had to console her friend.
