He knew Kim's habit is to skip breakfast whenever she is late for work.
"I'm so late I can't afford another minute" she said in a hurry.
" Young master Jeff said you mustn't leave home without breakfast" he said politely.
Kim was so surprised. She gave the man a doubtful look.
The Jeff she knows has perfect hatred for lateness and she had already gotten so late. Checking her time she know that she must get to work before 10 a.m and her time is ticking 9: 20am.
"Jeff?" She called with a debatable look.
It's been two days since they last saw each other and how possible did he tell the butler that she mustn't leave without eating breakfast.
"Yes ma'am. He called the house today and gave the instruction" he explained.
Kim didn't know what to feel. Whether to feel happy for his sudden care or to cry for her oversleeping and running out of time.
"Please serve it as fast as possible" she said giving up.
She knew the man won't let her leave until she obey what Jeff instructed. She also didn't know what trick Jeff is trying to play on her. She didn't trust the guy.
She ran towards the elevator but Carter double crossed her.
"Hey beautiful" he said.
"Oh no I'm so late" she shouted.
"Hey calm down" Carter said with a smile.
Kim who was panting from running shook her head and tried to bycut him but he was swift he wouldn't let her go.
"Je...... The boss will kill me" she said in a hurry.
" Just want you to have lunch with me. That's all" he said.
" Okay okay. I'll meet you in the cafeteria by lunch hour" she said and bolted away.
" Be careful!" He shouted at her back.
He gave a triumphant grin looking at Kim who was running on her heels. She looked so fascinating to him.
The rate at which Kim ran inside made Barb jacked up with so much fear.
"Ah!" Barb screamed.
"No worries Barb, it's just me" Kim said panting heavily.
She rested her hands on her desk panting like a dog. She gave Barb a weak smile.
"Ma'am why are you running so hard?" Barb asked innocently.
" Don't you know that I'm so late?" She asked her.
Barb smiled at her. She didn't know what to reply she just kept quiet.
"Is Jeff around?"
She asked when she realised that the drapes were down and it was so unlike him to pull the drapes down.
Barb nodded.
"Yes he is".
"Ah" Kim said in agony. "Did he ask of me?"
"No ma'am"
Barb thinks Kim was unnecessarily panicking. She felt Jeff is her husband and he wouldn't scold her. Just little explanation will cool him off.
"As he given us anything special to do?"
Barb shook her head.
Kim sighed and then sat down. She hasn't recovered from the way she ran to the top floor. She wanted to go see him but she wouldn't want to put herself in front of the judge by herself. So she waited until she is summoned.
Kim quickly started with her normal routine if she is around. She hasn't worked up to five minutes that her table phone ranged.
"Come over"
She heard as she placed the receiver on her ear. She looked at the receiver and sighed. She knew this was coming but she wasn't ready to face an angry Jeff.
She slowly opened the door and walked in.
"Good morning sir" she said pitiably bowing her head.
He didn't reply her. He just looked at her. He didn't need to be told that she was acting weird because she came late.
Kim when she was there was no reply lifted up her head to see if he is angry but his expression was calm.
"I can explain" she quickly said.
"Ok".
His reply made her think he was truely angry.
"I'm having exams next week so I slept late because I was reading and I didn't know when my alarm went off. I'm so sorry for coming late" she pleaded.
" When you came in why didn't you come to my office?" He asked.
Kim was slightly confused. She didn't know what coming to his office got to do with her apology.
"Didn't know you were around" she lied.
Jeff raised a brow at her lie. He wondered why she bothered to lie.
"Are you sure?" He asked.
Kim wouldn't look at him knowing his eyes was already fixed on her.
"Come" he said.
Kim looked at him with a bewildered look.
"Come here Kim" he said firmly.
It was as if Kim came to her senses. She quickly moved forward.
He gave her signal to come around his table. This gesture made her confused.
"What do you want to do?" She asked in confusion.
" Can't you just do as you are told?" He said calmly.
Kim wondered what came over him that he is behaving so nice this morning. Just as she got closer to him, he pulled her to himself.
"Ah!" Kim let out a scream.
