Chapter thirty one
The baking spree.
The loud music blaring downstairs woke Mera up .
"If all the kings had their queens on the throne , we would pop champagne and raise a toast "..
The music flew up to her ears and she groaned.
"What the heck is that?? " She yawned and rubbed her sleepy eyes. She stood up and padded to the window to open it ,so that the rays of sunlight can stream in .
"It's beautiful. " She exclaimed. The morning sight never seem to amaze her. It was beautiful and heartwarming.
"Let's start a new day. " She spoke loudly to herself.
Gabriel is now habitual to leaving the curtain without parting them . And it warmed up her heart to a certain degree. The little things matter .
She went into the bathroom to do the needful. She came out with a towel wrapped securely around her body. Ever since the bathroom incident,she has been making sure to lock the door, she couldn't let that incident repeat itself.
"Alrighty. Let's get to it. " She brought out the hair brush and her hair products that took up all the space on the dressing table.
She brushed her hair ,and contemplated about dyeing her hair some pretty bright color. Like orange or fiery pink.
"Hana and Emily could probably help" She just hoped that it wouldn't be a disaster. There once a time when they tried getting the famous ' wolf cut ' that was going viral online and yes, it was a total catastrophe.
They had to cut their waist long hair to a short Bob. She smiled at the memories.
When they were still silly little ladies trying out different things. Things that looked hilarious now ,when one was thinking back to the days.
Bang. They had gotten a bang in their hair and the only person that looked a little normal was Emily. Mera couldn't pinpoint what exactly she and Hana looked like.
Contact lenses. This is probably the most funniest phase of them all. Trying out contact lens . They looked like some haunted voodoo dolls. They already have different eye color but red, purple and silver looked absolutely' the opposite of good' on them.
She patted her hair and sighed. Hoping the summer wind won't scatter her hair that she had taken a lot of time to make it looked better .
That was the problem with curly hairs .
"Let's get some food. " Even her stomach concurred with that notion as it growls unanimously.
"That's definitely not ladylike. " She laughed . "Alicia has really been growing on them. With her so called ladylike whatever. "
She stood up and tidied the bed , she smoothened the crease on the bedsheet and placed the pillow in the right place.
The music that had stopped (or maybe the person had turned the volume of the music down) started to blare again.
"Who could be playing music?? Definitely not Alicia. Perhaps one of my psychopathic sisters. " One couldn't underrate the psychopathic ability of Emily. Mera was thirty percent sure that the culprit would be Emily.
She got downstairs and got a shocker. The large stereo that Mera had assumed was for decoration, since no one uses it . The music was much more louder than the one she was hearing upstairs.
"But no one is here? " She mused and shrugged it off as she walked to the dining room.
"Woooooooh that's definitely a feast. And ain't gonna lie I love it. And I'm already salivating. " She rubbed her hands together in readiness for devouring the feast right in front of her .
There was a lot of pie on the table , some scones and a lot and lot of cakes. This is great .
But wait , who changed the menu ?? Since they've gotten here they've been eating according to the menu that none other than Alicia had set .
Well ,this is great ,all the way.
She wiped the drool that was about to come out of her mouth as she sat down and helped herself to a generous amount.
"Good morning. " A shrill and girly voice greeted her . She was stunned for a moment before recollecting that they had a visitor yesterday. Oh perhaps the visitor was the one who prepared this mouth watering cakes.
"Good morning. " She turned her head and smiled.
"I see you're enjoying the scone. You have butter on your mouth. " She pointed at her mouth and waited for Mera to clean it up
"You made this ?? " Mera eyes widened and her mouth formed a ' O'
"Yes. Are you suprised?? " Nancy giggled
"Well hell yeah. I'm suprised. This is huge and delicious. You must have been up early. " Mera pointed out the obvious.
"Yeah , but not so early. I figured you guys could use something different other than the usual eggs and toast you've been having " She reached for an apple pie.
"Bless your heart. " She replied dramatically and put her hand on her chest .
They both burst into a fit of laughter.
"You're funny. " Nancy waved her hand .
Emily came into view with her tangled web like hair and her drowsy eyes.
Her eyes lit up immediately she saw the feast on the table. She strodded to them and pick up a cake ,she chewed it and moaned.
"That was good . " She yawned showing bits and particle of the cake in her mouth .
Both Mera and Nancy stared at her like ' what '?? And she returned their stares.
She pulled out a chair and sat down. She grabbed a plate and put everything inside it .
"Good morning. " She spoke loudly in between mouthfuls.
Mera shook her head. Trust Emily to be always mad and showing it
"Ahh, you were wondering why I looked like a ghost? And I'm eating like some starved she goat ? Well I don't know too. My stomach is empty and so is my head. " She explained to them while flinging her hand up and down.
"You guys are funny. " She smiled
Funny ? We're mad
Soon, Emily was shoving everything down her throat , she choke on the food ,she pointed to the water .
"Here ,take this. " Nancy handed her the water. She took some quick gulps and covered the water back .
"Thanks a bunch . You're such a darling. " She pointed at Mera "and you . You're such a witch how could you be looking at me like a doll when I'm dying?? " She shook her head
"Cut the drama . Drama queen ." Mera rolled her eyes.
"But you made this ? The chef ? Did Alicia asked them ? Impossible right? " She asked at a time. Mera couldn't control herself and laughed again
",Not Alicia but I . I was the one who made it .. I figured you guys could eat something different.."
"Oh my God! You made this ?? Everything?" She asked in shock
"You have the same reaction as everybody else. And yes I made it singlehandedly. I sent the chef some errands. " Nancy replied
"Woooh , you're the best. " Emily gave her a thumb up.
"Did you get to meet your cousins? They kinda came late yesterday. " Emily faced Nancy who had been observing Emily in return
"Ah, that . I met them this morning but we had little time to chat as they were all in a hurry to get to office early. They barely eat anything. Except Micheal of course. He even took some along with him " Nancy replied
Hana came downstairs gaining the attention of everyone present.
She wore a large brimmed strawhat,that she got from Alicia. Paired with a short and some slippers . She looked totally unacceptable.
Before any could even talk ,she catwalked like she was on the runway and was swishing her legs together and holding her hat with one hand .
Good grief ,she even had a hand bag with her . A closer inspection revealed a bright red lipstick on her lips that was very glossy and shiny.
"Gooodd moorrrnniiinngg." She screeched and they all covered their ears with their hand .

"Don't I look pretty? And charming? Classy? "She turned around for them.
"Indeed you look sickly and utterly despicable." Emily replied with a bright smile.
"Sickly?? I'm beautiful. "
"Yes with that ' thing ' on your head and that lipstick of yours that looked on the verge of dripping. You do look beautiful. "
"I think that I could use this at home too. Since I won't be going to a beach and what am I even saying . Anyways I'll be taking a lot of pictures today. I'll post it on my social media account. " She casually pulled out a chair and sat down. The suprise was evident on her face after seeing the huge feast that laid on the table , in front of her ,waiting to be devoured .
She removed the sunglass that she had on, perhaps to see better and they all stared at her like one would stare at a interesting creature.
"Alicia didn't know of this right ? She doesn't like much sugar. She's definitely not the one, then who ? Not Emily for sure and not Mera too.. those two are bad cooks ,then who ?? " She ranted to herself.
She looked at Emily , then Mera , and Nancy . The realization finally dawned on her .
"Oh , you're the one ?? You prepared all this for me ?? " She looked incredulously at Nancy. As if Nancy was her savior.
"For you ?? For us ! Duh ." Emily rolled her eyes. It goes without saying that none of the three of them is well, but at least couldn't they caution themselves in front of the visitor they had ?
Apparently they couldn't.
"But how ?? It's not easy to prepare all this singlehandedly,is it ? Or are you a chef? " Hana questioned Nancy who looked flustered and shy.
"Well I wouldn't say I'm a chef , like a Michelin but I went to culinary school for some time before quiting" She palmed her face as it was getting hot and red .
"Woow,,that impressive. And honestly I would argue if it had been anyone who told and if I didn't hear it directly from you." She continued eating and chewing acting all classy to meet her outfit no doubt .
"Maybe you should be making some food for us , you know the chef kinda type. " Emily winked at Nancy .
"That would have been so nice. This is delicious " Hana chimed in .
"I could teach you guys some things. If you like . It would be a great time kill . What do you think ?? " She fiddled with her clothes and Emily watched her closely.
What is her instinct telling her that this lady is faking her behavior? Acting all shy and giggly.
But all of that doesn't matter as long as she can cook . She's been craving steak , maybe she could cook that for them .
"Great . Let's start with learning how to bake this masterpiece shall we ?? " Mera smiled
"Oh that reminds me,, were you the one the music this morning?? " Mera turned to Nancy and asked.
"Yeah . I love music. Especially when I'm cooking, it motivates me . "
"Really??? That's awesome. " Emily exclaimed.
"Your favorite artist?? " Hana quick began quizzing her
"I listen to a lot of musicians and I have lots of favorite but my best ones are, Billie eillish, Nicki minaj and doja cat. Oh BTS and blackpink too. You probably haven't heard about them ."
Emily ,Mera and Hana all stared at themselves, not knowing the best reply to give her .
"Haven't heard about them ? You've got to be kidding me . I love them . Both are my favorite kpop groups."
