Chapter thirty eight
My answer.
Mera felt like some Giants were having a party inside her head. The pounding and the constant ringing assured her of that fact.
She opened one eye but closed it immediately as it was heavy and hurting.
"What the hecaroni happened yesterday?? ." She muttered with her eyes closed .
Deciding that she couldn't continue closing her eyes , she popped them open by force and she yelled
"Now a problem was solved , we need to get into the others. " She attempted to stand up but couldn't. It felt like her body didn't belong to her again. Did she drink too much yesterday?? .
"Well , I have to do something about it . " She mused tiredly.
She stood up slowly getting ready for the upcoming pain of carrying this head of hers. This head that was housing a whole village of Giants that were celebrating their newly appointed king .
She stood up and muttered a quick prayer while holding her head .
The heap of clothes that was on the floor scared her out of her wits. How did they get there ??
While trying to act tough , she bend down to examine it, before breathing a sigh of relief.
"It's just my clothes. But what happened yesterday??. " Still seems like a mystery because her memories was a bit hazy and not very pleasant.
She walked or rather dragged her feet to the bathroom to pour water on her burning head . She must have had a lot to drink yesterday. So much that she found herself in this unpleasant situation.
She groaned, when the cold water from the shower came in contact with her head. Her head did feel somehow.
Getting out of her already wet clothes , she decided to get a warm bath and not the cold one that made her want to shiver . She stretched out her hand and turned on the controlling switch of the shower from the blue one that indicated ' cold ' to the orange one that had. ' warm ' , next to the fiery red one that was written' hot' on it.
She had no heart for a hot bath this morning.
She finished her shower and got of it . Grabbing a towel , she opted not to dry her hair as her wet hair is acting like a suppressant for the ' gang ' in her head .
She got out of the shower , with only a towel around her chest and it barely reached her thighs.
She went through the bag she brought from home and fished out a jean shorts and some shirt .
After getting dress , the thought of sleeping occured to her to she shrugged it off , at least for now until she had her breakfast . And apparently they'll be leaving today around the evening .
Suits her .
She'll have more time to rest .
"Huh ?? When did this get here ??. " She held the glass that contained some watery yellowish liquid in it.
She held the glass to her nose and sniffed it . "Honey water ?? I smell some ginger too " she said to herself.
"It wouldn't hurt to take a sip right ?? It looked like it could cure hangover. " She drank a few mouthful from the glass and placed it back on table. .
She moved to the window to open it and allow the beautiful golden Ray of sunlight to stream in.
"I could never get tired of staring at the beautiful view. "
Just like the view at home , this place too had a great view especially when the rays of sunlight is basking it golden hue on it .
Her phone rang, distracting her from the eye catching view of nature . She checked the caller before picking it .
"Emily . " She spoke into the phone
"Mera ,where are you ?? You better come out here . We'll be leaving after break fast . " Emily spoke in her usual voice .
"Out ?? Out where??;"
"The mini cafeteria. Duh ?? "
"I'll be right back . " She dropped her phone inside the little pocket in her jean and headed downstairs. Thankful that her headache had reduced considerably. This always happens when she drink too much .
But she honestly has no recollection of what happened yesterday.
She got to the cafeteria and sighted the girls without much efforts. They were chattering loudly and had a lot of food on their table.
Emily must be the one that ordered that much of a food.
" I see you're enjoying yourself with me . " She drew back the chair to allow herself access to sit .
"Why not ??. " Mera answered battling with the mushroom that was stuck in between her teeth
"Sit down sit down . I have something to tell you guys ." Emily announced.
Mera sat down eagerly, wanting to hear the gossip .
"Did something happen yesterday?? " Hana asked. She didn't know anything.
"A lot " Nancy replied
"Y'all wouldn't believe what happened to me yesterday. So me and Micheal went to the party yesterday. He went to his business associate and I was pretty uncomfortable. And I had noticed that something was wrong with that son of a bitch called Alfred . " She stopped to catch her breath
"Eh?? Alfred the birthday celebrant? " Hana asked.
"Yes that stupid maggot . He was staring at him and secretly licking his chapped and bee sting lips . " Emily tore the lobster as if the poor thing had offended her before.
"So ??. " Hana asked getting impatient .
" As I was saying . I was pretty uncomfortable with the business conversation and my ass hurts. So this bitch invited me for a walk and I concurred . Given the situation that I was. So on our way she offered me some type of lemonade or whatnot and I collected it , because why not ?? . And apparently I wasn't supposed to collect it . Micheal had previously warned me not to collect anything from anybody except the ones he gives me but what could possibly go wrong ??? I accepted the bottle and we chat a little. That's when I begin to notice something wrong . I was feeling drowsy and sorts . "
"Don't tell me she drugged you ?? "" Hana screeched.
"Sit back down. This is just the beginning. As I was saying I felt somehow and she said something about the alcohol kicking in. We got to a hallway that had many rooms in it and I was shocked. I didn't know how we got there exactly because I wasn't paying attention. She pushed me into a room and smirked evilly. She slammed the door shut and I fell on the bed . My eyes quite hazy and my mind unfocused. The rest was a blur but when I'll open my eyes I got a shocker . That motherfvcker was halfway through his trousers groaning like an animal in heat and muttering some words to himself. He spread my legs violently and I shuddered in disgust. " Emily shuddered thinking back on the incident.
"Can I kill that fucker ??? " Mera stood up and grab the knife . Nancy was the one who drew Mera back to her seat . "Be patient ." She murmured.
"The only thing I knew before blacking out completely is that , I saw Micheal breaking the door almost completely removing the whole thing from its hinge . I knew my knight in shining armor had arrived. And I haven't been able to thank my knight . " She finished with a dreamy look.
"I'm so sorry . " Hana whispered .
Micheal and his brothers came into view just as Hana finished talking . The came looking like models on runway . Doing nothing .
Just barely breathing and making all the ladies drool.
Most ladies in the cafeteria were pinching themselves, whispering about the three handsome men that was turning all head.
The approached them and sat opposite of them .
Micheal opposite of Emily
Gabriel opposite of Mera
Samuel opposite of Hana
Only Nancy was left without a partner .
"You wouldn't mind if we sit here right ?? " Gabriel said in his deep husky voice that made Mera skin tingle and a subtle blush adorned her face.
She carried the glass of water and was glancing at Gabriel when she suddenly choke on the water.
Memories of yesterday came swimming in like a flood and her head was crowded with them .
The drinking
The confession and finally the rejection.
She flushed so red , that Emily quickly became alarmed .
Emily glanced at Gabriel and saw him avoiding eye with Mera .
Something must up with those two.
"I ...I..think I need to go get something from my room. " She zoomed off half running half sprinting.

She went to the room panting really hard, she fold her hands around her breast.
It is obvious that she is falling for him, she keeps on thinking about him and a slight smile appears on her face.
The door creaked open and Mera jumped up startled.
Gabriel peeked his head in and smiled sheepishly" did I startle you ?? "
"Huh ?? No . Come in." She fidgeted with her hair and looked away.
"Why did you leave so suddenly??. " He spoke slowly while sitting down oh the edge of the bed. Mera laughed nervously and moved away .
"Yesterday.." he started . Staring into her eyes
"Ahhhhh, that . It's ok if you don't like me . I mean , I actually don't expect you to like me back . And I'm sure the feeling will dissipate in no time . I'm actually popular in school for this . I like almost all the boys in our class but the feeling actually went away within a few weeks . I'm sure yours is like....." She couldn't finish the sentence because Gabriel placed his thumb on her face to wiped the tears that was falling .
Without warning, he placed lips against her , shutting her up from her protest.
"I like you too. " He spoke against her lips. His words sent ripples of shivers into her spine. Making her toes tingle
"I like you . Much more than you can imagine . So stop saying all that .... nonsense." He whispered into her ears and she smiled into the tears.
She hugged him , feeling happy and light . The heavy weight that sat atop her heart was suddenly lifted and replaced with feathers instead .
"I .... really thought you didn't like me . I just you were going to reject me. " She pouted.
"Why would you think that ?? " Gabriel smiled.
"Because you the Playboy type ?? And oh that blond woman . What's her name ?? She was clinging to you like a second skin ?? " She ranted off and was stopped by Gabriel soft lips again. He pecked her softly on the lips.
"You're cute ."
"Hey hey . Don't try to cover up . Tell me ! " She demand with her hand folded under her breast
Gabriel raised his hand in surrender and scratched his neck
"Alright . Alright . I'll tell you. Actually she was a business associate. Her father is very popular in Japan . And we need their signature on a contract and they were stalling for time because there was a lot of applicant . So a little bit of flirtation was all that was needed. " He spoke the last line nervously while checking out her reaction
"Flirtation?? " She raised her brows at him and eyed him suspiciously.
"I promise I won't flirt with other girls again. I cross my heart . Hmmm " he wiggled his brows cutely
"Pinky promise?? " She held out her little pink finger .
"Kiss promise. " He kisses her again
