Chapter 8

The next morning, Prisca Woke up feeling happy, today is the day her mum will tie the knot with her step dad and it brought a warm feeling in her heart knowing that her mum won't be left all alone all the time.
After her bath, some maid came into her room and gave her a makeover making her look beautiful as ever. A stunning purple gown was chosen for her and although Prisca isn't a fan of gowns, she can't denine the fact that the gown looked stunning and brought out her features perfectly.
The driver drove her and Rex to the venue, confused that Grey is out of sight, Prisca turned to Rex who looked breathtaking in the black suit he wore.
"What of Grey?" She implored.
"Oh, Grey loves to do things his own way. He will be at the church soon, he doesn't like attending occasions like this too early" Rex replied calmly with a smile on his face.
Prisca couldn't believe her ears, how can a son be so weird to his own father's wedding, it doesn't make sense to her. Or is Grey not happy that her mother is getting married to his father? He should be just the same way Rex is because she accepted his father and he just does the same too.
Prisca glanced at Rex, she noticed how calm he is and at once, she had a brotherly likeness for him but she could still not hide the truth that she feels this strange way about Grey. Even the thought of him alone was making her heart leap in a certain way she didn't understand.
Soon, they got to the venue, and one of the maids took Prisca to to the room where her mother was waiting before she walked down the aisle.
With excitement, she walked into the room and as soon as she saw her mom sitting on a chair looking so stunning, she couldn't help but feel so happy.
"Mum!" She let out and hugged her tight.
Evelyn on her part was surprised to see her daughter, Prisca. She let loose of her grip with smiles on her face, her hands avoiding touching Prisca's face so that she won't ruin the makeup on her daughter's face.
"I am so happy to see you child, you look so beautiful".
Prisca smiled with love in her eyes, "You look stunning mum, take a look at you. No one will know that you are just forty".
Evelyn laughed, "I look old already right".
With a raised eyebrow, Prisca stated at her mum, "Old? No way mum!, you still look so young with your shapes popping out and making all the men go crazy".
Evelyn laughed at her daughter's words, "You haven't changed a bit Prisca".
"Of course mum, I am my mother's daughter, remember that?" She raised an eyebrow with a smile and continued with her words,"You look perfect momma, I am sure Mr Nolan will pee in his pants as soon as he sets his eyes on you". Prisca winked at her mum who laughed.
"I have missed you so much my child" Evelyn hugged her again, "Nolan can't wait to see you, have you met his sons yet?"
Prisca smiled, she doesn't want to let her mum know about her encounter with Grey. Prisca knows how much her mother can get worried and she doesn't want her to on the morning of her wedding.
"Yes I have mum, they are nice" she replied with a smile.
"That's good news!" Evelyn exclaimed, "I know that you are surprised about this sudden wedding but Nolan is a very busy man, that's why we both decided to tie the knot quickly so that we can spend the rest of our lives together" she held her daughter's hands, "I hope that you are not upset about all of this?".
Prisca sighed and smiled, "To be honest mum, I was upset you kept your engagement away from me for two weeks. It's not like we didn't even speak throughout those two months, we did but you didn't mention it to me until four days ago. But it's fine mum, I am no longer angry, I am indeed happy for you, I am glad that you have found happiness now and you caught a big fish momma, that's a plus".
Evelyn laughed, "What do you mean by a big fish?".
"Come on mum, your husband is rich and successful. I am not a golddigger but I am just happy that you won't have to worry too much about money anymore".
Evelyn shook her head, "A man's money doesn't determine a woman's value. I love Nolan and not his money, as a woman , having your own money is a big flex, being your boss and a queen to your territory is also a big flex, do not forget that".
Prisca laughed, "I won't mum. I have to go now, the wedding is about to start. I know you must have butterflies in your stomach right now" she giggled and hugged her mum again.
"I do," Evelyn replied with a smile on her face.
"Later mum" Prisca said and walked out of the room.
The wedding finally kicked off, during it, Prisca noticed Grey walking in with some group of friends. She turned back and to her dismay, her eyes locked together with Grey. Embarrassed that he caught her, she quickly looked away and noticed how nervous she was,her heart leaped so high.
Soon, the couples were joined together in matrimony. A lot of guests were present at the wedding and Prisca noticed that the majority of them were rich. The parking lot of the church was filled with expensive cars and Prisca can't know that her stepfather only deals with rich men of the society.
"Prisca" Nolan said as he set his eyes on his beautiful brunette step daughter who stood next to him.
"Good to see you sir" Prisca replied with a smile, "My mum told me a lot about you and I can say that you are indeed what she says you are".
Nolan laughed, he glanced at Evelyn who stood next to him, their fingers locked together, "Your mother means the world to me and I am proud to have her as my wife".
Prisca smiled, she could read his expression and she knew that he was saying nothing but the truth. "I can see that and I wish you both the best as my parents. Maybe it's better I call out dad, I hope that's fine with you?" She implored.
"Sure,of course, I will love that because I already view you as my daughter even before meeting you today," Nolan smiled.
"I am glad to hear that" Prisca turned to her mother and hugged her, "I will see you later, I have to stay with the boys" she said and walked away from them.
"They look happy together," a voice said beside her.
Prisca turned to see Rex standing beside her with his eyes fixed on their parents. Prisca glanced at them too and a smile rested on her face, "You are right, they are" she muttered to his hearing watching the couples.
Soon, they all moved to the reception which was at a beach shore. The decoration was beautiful and when it was nightfall, everything looked so beautiful with soft music heard, guests eyes fixed on the couples who danced together.
During this, Prisca just couldn't get her eyes off Grey who sat aside with a bottle of drink in his hands. He looks far away from the event like he doesn't want to be present at all. Prisca couldn't help but wonder why, even though she just met him yesterday, she couldn't get him off her mind and every time, she found herself stealing glances at him until the occasion came to an end.
