Ambassador of Peace 5

“Arthur and Nichole, I am glad that you found me worthy to be under your roof. I am not taking it for granted,” Sir Relish, greeted warmly with a rueful smile, and extended his hand to him for a handshake. Now, Lady Relish, who was smiling behind her husband, greeted too, “I am delighted to see you, Arthur and Nichole. I hope your day went well”
Nevertheless, Mr. Bailey was glad that he was witnessing Sir Relish's reformation process. Now, he had taken his seat on one of the single chairs in the dining area.
“Welcome, Sir and Lady Relish. Our day went well,” Nichole responded.
“Please, take your seats,” Arthur offered. Now, they took their seats while Denise signaled the janitor to serve his parents with tea too. After they were seated, Arthur, who knew why they came, waited for Sir Relish to say something, but he did not. Then, Arthur spoke, “You're welcome once again. To what do I owe this visit?”
Now, Sir Relish, who was sipping his tea, put the cup back in his saucer and declared, “I think, I…”
He stopped when the janitor brought the cups of tea and coffee and served Arthur and his wife.
“Thank you,” Arthur and his wife appreciated the janitor. After he walked away, Sir Relish, continued.
“Like I was saying. I think I owe most of my friends a visit, and you are one of them. Likewise, I must admit that I had not respected our relationship. Kindly, pardon my negligence and inadvertent acts.”
Now, it was Arthur’s turn to sip his tea, and use those few seconds to process what he just heard, and think of the right answers. Then, he dropped his cup, and spoke, “I am glad to be numbered among your friends, and you counted me worthy of your visit. I am not taking it for granted. Once again, you are welcome.”
“Thank you, Arthur.”
“You are welcome, Sir Relish. I think, we should pop a champagne.”
Now, Denise, believed that the adults’ ways of doing things can be clumsy at some times. To him, a few slaps would have settled the matter and everyone would be fine. He got up hastily and moved to the wine cellar. Then, he picked a bottle of wine and took it to the father, who collected it joyously, while the janitor dropped four glasses.
'Since Sir Relish had diplomatically apologized, I would diplomatically accept it,’ Arthur thought, then, he faced him, and saw a genuine repentance in him and declared, “Sir Relish, I recognize your Knighthood. As our light in shining armor, you will pop this champagne for us.”
Now, Sir Relish felt honored, and stood up happily. Then, walked to the center table, picked up the bottle of wine, while his wife looked on with glee.
“Thank you, Arthur, for the privilege of sharing friendship with you and your family. It can only be better.”
He popped the champagne and everyone clapped. Then he filled their wine glasses and moved for a toast.
“To long life, better friendship and prosperity.”
In their standing position, they clinked their glasses with glee while the excited Denise clapped for them. Afterward, Sir Relish and his wife left and Arthur and his wife returned to the parlor.
“Thank you, Denise, for your intervention,” Nichole, who thought that he brought Sir Relish and his wife to tender their apologies. Then, Denise knew where his mother was going, and he selfishly admitted with a smirk on his face, “Don't mention, mom.”
Meanwhile, his father noticed the smirk on his face and questioned, “Nichole, what intervention are you talking about?”
Now, Nichole looked at Denise, who had a cynical smile on his face, and explained how he contacted him when Lady Relish called on her for intervention. At the end of her explanations, her husband glared at Denise who was already laughing aloud, and said, “Denise’s intervention indeed.”
“Father, allow me to enjoy the honor of being capable of pulling the almighty Senior Knight to apologize.”
They laughed heartily, and Arthur remarked, “He is truly repentant.”
“Yes, Hubby. I can imagine the impact of your visit.”
“Mom, you just need to imagine it. When I met father in his office after you gave me a call, the vibration from his nerves almost pushed me out of his office.”
Arthur, who recalled that what Denise said was the truth, laughed as well as his wife.
“Well, I am glad that it had ended on this note,”
“I am glad, too. Father,” Denise called out afterward.
“Yes, Denise.”
“I got this mail from those countries that wanted me to supply them with ammunition.”
Now, Denise handed his device to his father, who read it with contentment. Afterward, he handed the device over to his wife to read. Afterward, she exclaimed, “Wow! You have made me proud again.”
“Thank you father. You made it happen.”
“We shall be there to give you all the support that you need.”
“Son, I am proud of you. Come and give me a hug.”
Denise, who was standing behind his father's couch, walked up to his mother and gave her a hug.
“Thank you, mom, for being there for me.
“You are welcome, my dear.”
“Father and mom. I wish to be on my way. That was what brought me before I met our guests at the gate.”
“It is all right, son. How is Tim?” Arthur asked.
“He is fine, father. We are through with his change of name and Nationality.”
“That is good. He can retain his mother's name as his stage name.”
“Wow! That will be nice.”
Then Nichole asked, “How is your wife?”
“She is fine, mom.”
“We are counting down.”
“Yes mom.”
“I can't wait to see your children.”
Denise chuckled, and afterward, his parents walked him to his car and he left.
After the meeting with Admiral Twist, the Chief of the Defense Staff of Dunforn South and Admiral Jacob, Chief of the Defense Staff of Dunforn North about three months ago. They returned to their countries and continued to deliberate on the peace talk which he had begun with them. When they left his office that day, Mr. Bailey planned that they should return to their suites at his Tourist Center in one car. That arrangement was to foster the ideal of unity and peace as a basis of progress. He wanted them to bond as humans and appreciate the joy that comes with love for humanity, and it worked. While they were seated together in the back seat of the car, different thoughts ran through their minds.
