Now, he walked out of his office, and asked one of the drivers to drive him. While in the car, his worries doubled when he could not think of what to tell his wife. Soon, they got to the hospital, and met his wife waiting for him in the vestibule. He read her countenance and discovered that she was worried. Just like Phil advised, he pulled himself together before the driver stopped in front of her, and she joined him in the back seat.
“Good day, Hubby. How was your day?”
She greeted coldly. Her husband responded with a peck on her temple and said, “My day was good, just like yours, I guess.”
Nichole smiled dryly and responded, “My day was good.”
Nevertheless, she had tried Louis's number severally that day, but he did not pick. Now, she was afraid of ruining her husband's day, besides, the driver could hear their discussions, so, she kept her worries to herself. With feelings of hopelessness, they drove home in silence until they got to their apartment.
At the Bailey Native Home
Before the driver got to their apartment, they spotted a car that looked like Louis's personal car, and wished like flying out of the windows to check on the car. Soon, the driver parked beside the car, and they noticed that the car was his. They got out of the car hastily, and looked at each other before looking at the car again.
Arthur inhaled and exhaled. Then, he held his wife's hand, and they began to climb the verandah steps.
“Welcome back, boss and madam.”
The security guard greeted.
“Thank you. When did he come?”
“About fifteen minutes ago.”
“It is all right.”
Now, Arthur, who was a bit relieved, looked at his wife who was dejected and took her to the bedroom. He pulled her closer to his chest and encouraged.
“I understand how you feel.”
Likewise, Nichole rested her head on his shoulders and cried profusely. Her feelings that she had bottled up for some time came flooding. Then, her husband asked, “Did you try to give him a call today?”
She nodded her head in agreement, and her husband confirmed his suspicions.
“I thought as much. Kindly stop crying. At least, we have seen him. We should be grateful that he remembered to come home. Let us be strong and find out what could be his reason for coming.”
He disengaged her and gave Dr. Quain a call. He was fretful when he saw the Chairman’s call, and thought of a lie to tell, “I will tell him that I am on my way to his son’s house.”
When he was convinced that his lies would go a long way in calming the Chairman’s nerves, he picked, “Hello, boss.”
“Yes, doctor. I wish to let you know that he is with us.”
“Oh! That is….”

Then, he gave Phil a call, too. When he picked, he gave him the same information as he gave the doctor.
“That is good. I am coming over.”
Now, Arthur changed to his casual wears just like his wife, and they set out for his room. When they got to the door, his mom knocked and opened the door because she was not expecting him to respond. She got in and her husband followed. They met him sitting on the bed and resting his head helplessly on the head rest. Now, he was tired of crying, and the mark of dry tears made a line from his eyes down to his jaw. Although, it was covered with bears, but it was soaked with tears.
“Louis.”
His father called out when he waited for his greeting. He attempted to answer, but he found himself crying. Then, his mother sat beside him and comforted, “Don't bother to talk. Have you had your lunch?”
He nodded in refusal, and his mother reassured him.
“It is all right, son. Lunch would soon be ready.”
She walked out of the room and instructed the janitor before she walked back to the room and met her husband trying to remove his jacket. Now, Louis loosened his necktie and pulled out his shoes. He rested back on the bed while his parents sat on the couch and watched him. Then, Arthur picked the television remote and switched it on, and they watched silently. Soon, Phil walked in. He was determined to put an end to the drama, after all, everyone was aware of everything.
“Father and mom, good day.”
They looked away from the television and looked at him. Meanwhile, he looked worried, which they mistook for worrying about Louis. To their surprise, he sat beside Louis on the bed and asked, “Louis, do you wish to send mom and father to their graves earlier than they should go? Tell them whatever that is bothering you.”
Now, Louis, who thought the matter was still encoded before Phil and kept away from his parents, released a painful smile. Then, Arthur rode on Phil's coattail and inquired, “Son.”
“Yes, father.”
“What brought you?”
Instead of answering his father's question, he began to tear up. Then, Phil glared at him and announced, “This will not lead us to anywhere.”
Then, Arthur continued, “I thought you have come to let us know that the girl you fell out of love with is now your brother's wife?”
Now, Louis was astonished. He could recall that he discussed his ex-girlfriend with Phil and Max, but he never mentioned that she was Olivia. Then, he calmly said.
“Father, I am dying. I can't bear it anymore.”
Now, Phil, who was sitting beside him on the bed, placed his hand on his shoulder and pacified him while his parents looked on, “It's OK. Allow your past to pass, please.”
He looked at his parents, and noticed that they were not happy, and he got off the bed, and walked to his father, who was waiting to hear more confessions from him. Then, Arthur stood up and gave him a hug. He held his father firmly for a few seconds and repeated, “I'm dying slowly. Please help me.”
“It is all right, son. Just like Phil said, allow your past to pass.”
Then, Louis walked up to his mother and did the same thing. When his mother stood up, he gave her a hug too and whispered, “I am sorry, mom. I have caused you so much stress.”
“It is okay. Always remember that your ability to conquer challenges is what makes you a hero.”
