I informed my professor that I would be unable to present my report today. Melissa supported me in explaining, and our professor eventually recognized the reason for my inability to present. "I really thought Wanwan was nice, but it turns out she isn't," she mumbled. She didn't stop talking about that acquaintance of ours until the end of the day when school was dismissed. Looking for something to eat, we headed to a street food cart near the entrance gate. She used a stick to scoop up some of the kwek-kwek, then offered me a cup of ice scramble. I was staring at her as she ate until she burped. “Look at me! I’m full,” she triumphantly declared, holding on to her stomach. "Hey! We were informed of what happened.” My attention was drawn to Sasha when she abruptly said that. She was waiting for Vanna to finish buying street foods. "I'm sorry," Melissa said as she nudged her slightly. My eyes widened a little after that. “It's perfectly fine. You know I'm fair when it comes to competitions like that. Kaoree is merely my adversary in academic competitions. Anyway, all I knew was that the girl was Wanwan's bestfriend.” She said while applying her bb cream. A smile spread across my face as soon as I realized it wasn't Sasha who had done it. But knowing it was Wanwan who did it, I can't help but feel a pang of sadness in my heart. My speculations were correct, particularly when she kicked your foot. It was done on purpose. I was aware of it,” she slid the bb cream into her shoulder bag as soon as she is finished with it. When Vanna was finished, she motioned to Sasha to accompany her. The latter waved her hand. "Bye! Remember, not all of your friends are truly your friends. They might turn out to be your enemy." She muttered something meaningful and winked at us. Melissa and I did nothing except talk about things until we arrived to the tricycle terminal. I noticed TH’s car was parked nearby, but I opted to ignore it. At least for the time being, I'll choose my pride over speaking with him. He made me look like a fool. Much worse, I had no idea whether his four friends, particularly Jez, were aware of it. But I don't think Jez would do something like that. I wanted to hear his side of the story because I was confident that if he knew what was going on, he would not allow this to happen to me. After getting off the tricycle, I smiled when I noticed Melissa on the tricycle behind us. "Why did you follow me?" I went closer to her as she stepped off of the tricycle. "I'm aware that you're not okay. Let me give you a hug." Something prickled at the bottom of my heart. I have the feeling that any minute now, I will burst into tears of joy because I am fortunate enough to have her as my friend. "Thank you.” "You don't have to thank me. Take good care of yourself, okay? I’ll go ahead.” I kept my gaze fixed on her as she rode the tricycle again before I stepped inside our home. Winwyn is talking to her flowers while holding the gardening hose in her hands. She greeted me with a friendly wave and a bright smile. She pointed something, “Snacks.” I take a closer look at the munchkins she made. I'm enthralled by the scent's allure. At the edge of my vision, I saw how Wyn's gaze was clearly focused on me. Is everything normal to her, or did she just not know what was going on? “This is my first time baking, so please have a taste.” Her voice was so gentle that I couldn't help but do as she said. I took a bite slowly. Although it was sweet, the bitterness I'm feeling is overwhelming. She took another step forward. "Didn't you like it?" she asked, staring at me.. “It’s delicious. Really delicious. I'm just a little too full, Wyn.” Even though I was already full, I could eat this if I didn't harbor any hatred towards her. “I’ll go inside.” Her only response was a nod before returning her attention to her plants. As soon as I pulled my shoes off, I was greeted by the loud and boisterous Latrelle and Marcus. "You’re a cheater!" The plastic packaging for the chips was shattered all over the place. They were tossing pillow at each other while playing Xbox. “Whatever! You’re the cheater!” Latrelle said before he stuck his tongue out. They only came to a complete halt when they saw me. Latrelle hurriedly slipped her slippers on before moving closer to me. "What did your professor say, Kaoree?" I merely smiled and walked to my room. "She's in a bad mood, so don't bother her right now." Marcus spoke in hushed tones. As soon as I entered my room, I laid my back on the soft bed. I let myself to drift off to sleep in melancholy. I allowed my own tears to soak into my bedsheet. I allowed myself to be unhappy and to feel the sorrow. After all, this is only temporary. I have no idea why it is so painful. He didn't even say whether he liked me or whether he was in love with me. Maybe he just truly enjoyed being with me because he remembered Rosella in me. It was already late when I woke up. I wouldn't even bother opening my eyes if it weren't for the fact that my stomach was grumbling with hunger. I was on my way down the stairs to the kitchen when I heard a voice I recognized. She was dressed in a cream dress that complemented her skin tone and a bucket hat, which was different from the outfit she was wearing the last time I saw her. I was about to take a step back since I didn't want to talk to anyone right now, but it was already too late. "Oh, look who's here." Her feminine and sarcastic voice made me come to a complete stop. Jez signaled for me to come down. I walked straight and appeared unaffected. "You're invited to our party with T.H." She handed me the envelope she was holding. The fragrance of it immediately invaded my nostrils. It has a floral scent, like freshly gathered flowers. I tried not to show any signs of distress by smiling. "Thank you." "You're welcome. Oh, and don't forget to dress in a way that exudes class and sophistication. Girls who lack elegance are not permitted to enter,” she said then spritzed her hands with alcohol. "Rosella, we didn't invite you here to insult one of us." Jez yelled, raising her brows. "Oh. Sorry. I had no idea that was meant as an insult, all I know is that I'm stating the truth.” Rosella said with a mocking sneer "Where’s T.H?" For a brief moment, the entire room was deafeningly quiet. No one came forward to respond. Rosella made her way to the front door of the house. “I have to go. It has a distinct fishy smell here. Well, what do I expect? Your property might be considered a squatters' area." She smiled before she looked at me. "Please, Rosella, give me a moment. I had a feeling you'd enjoy this." We were all staring at Latrelle as she walked into the kitchen. "Hurry, Latrelle." Her feminine voice was gratingly irritating. I have a strong want to pinch her. It was only a matter of seconds before Rosella was drenched as Latrelle hurled a glass of water at her. "Did you think it was fantastic, Miss Rosella?" Latrelle smirked a little. Rosella annoyably went out. My knees immediately felt like they were made of jelly, forcing me to sit on the couch. "Girl—" Jez went closer. "What? I’m fine.” I swallowed the lump that had formed in my throat. That’s right. I’m fine. T.H drew our attention as he dashed into the house with a brisk pace. Our gazes locked, but I was the one who broke it off. I don't want to look into his eyes anymore. Every time I caught sight with it, fury and pain were the only emotions I could feel.
