As soon as we arrived at the beach, I was greeted by the sight of children happily running along the shore. I couldn't keep a smile off my face when I felt the white sand under my feet.
I was wearing a two-piece swimsuit that Melissa had lent me underneath a white shirt.
I rose to my feet and repositioned the umbrella that had protected me from the scorching heat of the sun. I don't know how many times I have seen Sasha apply sun block lotion to her entire body, particularly her legs, because she is concerned about getting a sun burn.
Marcus and Yuan were standing behind me. They were both wearing sunglasses and drinking their own buko juice.
Every girl that passes in front of us is staring at them as if they are some sort of supermodel. Some even attempted to get their phone numbers, but were quickly discouraged when Marcus simply smiled at them and Yuan looked at them uninterestedly.
The charisma that these two gentlemen possessed was truly extraordinary.
"I prefer crabs over anything else." Vanna shared her thoughts. She was talking with Drianne, who was preparing to dine at one of the many well-known restaurants in this beach resort.
"Gosh! No way in hell. Shrimps are much more delectable." Drianne defended as she applied lotion to Vanna's back.
There are other men who are greeting them,so so they can't help but engage in conversation with them.
Of course, there are some guys who come up to me simply because I'm attractive. However, the girl beside me is adamant.
"No, girl. He looks like a maniac." Melissa exclaimed, her gaze fixed on the man with the thick mustache.
Actually, he looks okay to me. He also treated me with decency and respect, which was a plus.
He just needs a little trim to give him a fresh hairstyle and light shave to keep her mustache looking neat.
"Actually, I'm not a resident here. I'm merely a passing tourist. How about you?" He asked, hoping to extend the conversation.
"That doesn't matter, Mister. I'm already in a relationship with another man." Melissa remarked as she flipped her hair.
I lowered my head a little and smirked a little. She is glancing at Marcus, who is currently engaged in building a sand castle with the children he had just met.
"Good for you, Miss..."
"Melissa," she introduced herself. I remembered her telling me not to give my real name to strangers. Look at what is happening right now...
"To be honest with you... I'm genuinely interested in your friend," the guy said as he turned to face me.
I attempted to keep my laughing under control but couldn't, so I bursted out into a loud laugh that made them all look at me.
I left them there because they were bickering about something that I couldn't understand. Meissa was completely oblivious to the fact that I was not beside her.
I walked into our room and sank into the plush bed's silky matress. I was disappointed to discover that I had received no texts from Jez when I checked my phone.
I got up and made myself a glass of juice. I stepped out to the terrace, only to be welcomed with the sounds of the people below. I can't help but feel serene when I hear them, especially when they're combined with the sounds of the chimes clicking due to the breeze.
I grab an octopus monopad and place it on the stairwell. I set a five-second timer on my phone before posing for a photo.
I wasn't disappointed with the photographs because the scenery is so breathtaking. The sun sinking in the distance added to the solemnity of the scene.
I posted it to Facebook with the caption, "Silhoutte and Relaxing."
"Kaoree! What are you doing? Let's go, we'll get something to eat." Melissa took a peek out the window.
"What the hell! You've already gotten sunburnt!" Marcus burst out laughing when she spotted Melissa.
"Wow! Look who's talking, you are also sunburned!" Melissa made a defense.
They were all sunburned, especially Vanna. Yuan's skin tone had not changed at all. Even the rays of the sun couldn't harm his skin.
"We went fishing for a while. Let's put it on the grill." He said with pride as he held up the large fish they had caught.
Wow, he went fishing but didn't acquire a tan from the sun? Extraordinary.
"Kaoree and I will go out and buy more food. It's possible that we'll run out of it." Even before I can say anything, she has already reached out and grabbed my hand.
When the night fell, there were more people around. The people who had been playing volleyball earlier had already dispersed. Couples walking together with clasped hands replaced the children who were running around and creating sand castles.
"Can you guess what they'd like to eat?"
I noticed a restaurant in the vicinity. I was going to mention it to her when she interrupted me.
"Let's just get some sisig so we don't get too stuffed. We still have a party to attend later on." She added.
"I'm just going to sit here and wait for you." She nodded and then went to the line.
I yawned out of sheer exhaustion. I couldn't sleep earlier because I was so preoccupied by what had happened.
I sat back in my beach chair and closed my eyes as I leaned back and relaxed. I opened my eyes right away when I heard familiar laughter. Both men rose to their feet at the same time, so I assumed they were the ones who had laughed.
I looked at them, but couldn't see their face because they were moving so quickly.
I didn't have time to put on my slippers before chasing them down. The two men were even more difficult to spot in the dim light.
"Kaoree, what's going on? Why are you running?"
"Nothing, Melissa. I thought I recognized the person I'd seen earlier."
Our arrival was met with cheers from everyone. They took the sisig quickly so it can be placed on the plate. I can't believe these three girls are eating this kind of food.
"Tomorrow, I'll make sure to eat more. You ate nearly everything." Marcus said lazily because he was only able to eat two spoonfuls of sisig.
It seemed like the night went by so quickly until it was time to go to the party. Each of us had made preparations for it.
"How come the three girls aren't here?" Marcus asked after exiting the restroom.
We had all agreed to meet here, but...
"They're already there, mingling with the guys," I said as I pointed at them.
"Come on, people! Let us have a good time at this party!" Marcus' yelled when they brought his order.
"Cheers!"
I was the one who didn't order because I didn't want my head to hurt like hell the next morning.
I took a few steps back and looked around me. Why do I have this feeling that someone is looking at me from a distance?
"Are you alright, Kaoree? Your hands are really cold." Melissa asked while holding my hand.
I gave her a friendly smile, "I'm fine. I'm fine here, so go ahead and enjoy yourselves."
